I held a women's networking event for 13 women yesterday at Ivy Tower Bridge and overall it was ok, it would have been excellent if it hadn't been for the attitudes and comments we overheard from several of the staff. The young man managing our table was excellent - he was attentive, professional and polite - absolutely delivered on ensuring the lunch event smoothly. However, I can not say the same for some other staff members including the Maitre D. Upon arrival I was informed the terrace was closed until 12pm (it was 11.45) and we would have to wait at the bar at the back of the restaurant. No problem with this, We started to order drinks and as my guests arrived, they too ordered drinks. There was about 5 of us and then out of nowhere a member of staff said we were. not allowed to stand at the bar, we had to sit??? It's a bar and we were not blocking any other guests or staff members, obviously as people walked past, we stepped aside but this hadn't really happened as the restaurant as near empty. Also, we would have much preferred to be at our table but we were not allowed to be. i then asked if we could be sat at our table, we were escorted to our table at 12pm, there were already other guests at their tables, which begs the question, why were we told we weren't able to do the same when we arrived or at least when our guests started to arrive? However, at the end of our meal, we had already spent over £900 on the main meal and pre-drinks at the bar, so we asked if we could continue drinking either at the table or elsewhere. We were told the table was needed but we could continue at the bar. At this point, some of our guests had to leave and you had to pass the entrance to get to the bar, so naturally, we all said our goodbyes at the entrance to the guests leaving and some of us went to the bar where the maitre d said 'oh god, they are all at the door now!' pardon? We were saying goodbye and it was less than 3 mins? We did not feel welcome at all.

Our first time at the Ivy. Food was very good. We were hungry and the food came very quickly. Service was also very good. Staff is very friendly and considered the food allergy of our son. Highly recommended.

We have visited this restaurant on a few occasions and have always been pleased with our experience. We were celebrating a family birthday and this had been noted on the booking. The team all seemed aware of this and made an effort to acknowledge the occasion which was a nice touch. The service was excellent and the food was very good too Overall a great dining experience

Outdoor service was great. Once moved indoors , service went to pot! Had to ask for drink menu, a smile of the guy would have been nice. Lack of service inside which I think as hoping would be different at tower bridge as been city many times and service lets them down too.

The location is great. Quality and choice of food excellent. Had a long wait ( over an hour) for our food due to a wedding reception upstairs. Waiter not very knowledgeable about the children’s menu and we had to remind them to bring everything ordered.
