The service was very slow, we had to wait 40 minutes for our food and 15 minutes for tap water to arrive. Although the food was delicious, the toast had huge holes in it, one fried egg was under done and the other poached egg had burst. Coffee was not hot. The location and decor is absoutely fantastic though!
Five of us went for breakfast and they were very accommodating with an excellent table. All us had different items from the menu which everyone was very pleased with. The value for money is excellent for such s great iconic venue. Service was good, not rushed, but at times they could have been more attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.
Went to the ivy to celebrate a birthday. Good service and a lovely table by the window .. good food well recommended
Nothing was to much trouble ..
A pre-theatre dinner which we really enjoyed although we were a little rushed at the end to make the curtain up. This could have been avoided had we not had to wait 20 mins to place our order.
Lovely food, beautiful restaurant and wonderful location and view. Good Prix-fixe menu.
The restaurant is beautiful inside and has stunning views, but service is slow and the food was only ok (my eggs were way to runny, I had to ask for my coffee a couple of times, they don't have wholemeal bread). All in all, I don't think I will be back again.
It was our 2nd time visit to the restaurant as a team. the first time was around Christmas time and this time the menu for the Set menu was different.
Although the Chicken menu I had was OK, (chicken wasn't really wow, but the mash was absolutely gorgeous!), I wanted to have the same menu as last time. Ham hock.
The ham hock was so tasty that I couldn't stop thinking about for a few days afterwards. Also, crème brûlée was gone from the dessert menu, which was also disappointing. (I was already decided to have those two before visiting the restaurant)
So it was Ok but disappointing as these reasons. However, my request that it was a celebration occasion and wanted some things done was not forgotten. That was good!
Personally, I would like to have a ham hock again in your restaurant!
Not only was the food exquisite but the ambiance was beautiful!! The waitstaff was helpful and extremely attentive. It was our last night in London and being right near the gorgeous Tower Bridge was the best end to our trip. I would highly recommend and definitely return to The Ivy next time we’re in London!!
Disappointed not to have had a table with more than two people being able to enjoy the fantastic view! We had made a special request for this when booking as we -4 of us-were on a short sight seeing stay in London, and had carefully selected the restaurant with this in mind.I appreciate now , after the reception staff explained on our arrival, that the tables by the window are only for two people but some of the nearby tables for four allowed at least three people to appreciate the view! The reception staff semed completely unconcerned about our request!!
We were rather upset when we were allocated a table whereby two of us had our backs to the window! We decided amongst ourselves that we would not be leaving a tip for the service. However, as the table service was so exceptionally good, we decided to leave about a third of the approx £18 that was itemised on our bill.
We were horrified when we were subsequently questioned twice re the quality of the service received, and we had to point out that surely tipping was discetionary!
We did point out to the waiter, and someone who appeared to be in a managerial role, that the service was excellent, but that we were disappointed re the table allocated after we'd specifically requested a view!
Generally , a lovely meal and excellent service, but it made us feel very uncomfortable in that we had to explain, more or less, why we hadn't paid the £18 or so tip, and if we were more local I don't think we'd want to go back, which is a shame!
A good addition to the group with a good location We 4 all enjoyed our lunch .Will certainly be back..😀😕
Had Lovely meal , good service with a fantastic view
Had Sunday brunch here, loved the food, champagne, service & amazing view
Stunning view, tasty food and good service.
A wonderful Sunday lunch in a perfect setting
really disappointed. Service was poor from start to finish. The food was average but nowhere near the quality which the price reflects. We were never served our side orders.
It took us 30 minutes to find the restaurant, it is actually behind No 1 Tower Bridge Road, although we googled it several times, google kept advising we were at our destination, we were late for our sitting, but while we were looking for the restaurant, other people were also looking, so not sign posted very well. need more cocktail choices, very limited mostly gin based, some were small glass measure for around £11.50 quiet expensive.
Restaurant was very nice atmosphere, clean, and service very good, good selection of desserts.
would visit restaurant again and have recommended to other friends.
Great food, amazing venue. As always the Ivy lived up to its reputation. Looking forward to my next visit.
Great buzz in the restaurant and lovely decor. The food was great but unfortunately the service was average this time. Not enough to stop is going back though.
The Ivy has some great restaurants and I only discovered last week one had opened next to TowerBridge! It did not disappoint and was exceptional! And the views of the Tower Bridge amazing! We will be back. Tks
Staff very attentive, we choose the brunch menu and we were all very pleased with the choice made. A little criticism is the background music should be for the background and being partially deaf found too loud to hear what was being said around the table.
Would recommend and hopefully will return.
