Usual great experience, my only concern is that the drinks are very expensive. I think a bit of money making is going on. Sorry.

The food never disappoints, had duck salad, cod & friend had chicken with sides. Chocolate bomb is a must have. At the start the GM was quite unnecessarily rude as we had purchased a voucher - it certainly wasn’t a good start to what was a celebration meal. However the young waiter was lovely & the service was good.

The Ivy has a winning formula - sumptuous decor, plentiful smartly dressed staff, gorgeous drinks list, amazing diverse food menu - our experience today could not be faulted

We'd booked for 8pm arrived on time and were told our table was not ready yet so go to the bar which we did for 20 minutes. 8.20 we were seated it was busy but not over busy we ordered our bread starter and that came promptly. 10 min later we had done..then 25 min later no mains..no update..no asking if wanted more drinks..another 10 min and I went to see our waitress to ask where our mains were..only 2 medium sirloins with sides nothing complicated..on there way..again another 15 min..eventually by around 9.25 we were served our mains not the sort of service you expect when paying those prices. I can't fault the food but the service was well below what I'd expect .also it was very crammed tables far too close together for comfort

It took 30 minutes to seat us. Even though we’d booked a table, we have a 1 year old which really wasn’t ideal. Normally our experience at the Ivy, is without fault. Today it was below par.

Lunchin November with friends, opted in advance for the ‘standard’ menu and not the Christmas lunch because I don’t eat turkey in November. Expecting the standard menu woukd be two courses for £30 as it is the rest of the year. Silly me. Due to the £50 Christmas menu, standard is actually the à la carte option, and you’re only told this when you sit down. If you choose wisely you can still have a cocktail and a digestif and pay less than the Xmas money-grab. Next year Turkey from October? In the plus side the squid tempura was very good as was the blackened cod fillet, and they charged my flat phone. So will give them another chance.
