The Ivy Winchester Brasserie
With approximately 150 seats, guests will be able to enjoy the main restaurant and bar, as well as a Parisian-style terrace during the warmer months. The brasserie’s all-encompassing menus offers a wide selection of British classics and internationally-inspired dishes, from the iconic shepherd’s pie to the spoiling Champagne afternoon tea and Ivy Royale cocktail.
The Ivy Winchester Brasserie offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, holding back a number of tables each day for locals, visitors and passers-by wishing to drop in at their leisure
Everything was perfect! The food was delicious, served by a very attentive waiter
Fantastic restaurant! They take your temperature at the door and have all social distancing measures in place. I feel a lot of restaurants have suffered in their service due to Covid but the Ivy was fantastic.
We had the vegetarian menu and it did not disappoint.
It was our wedding anniversary dinner. We were seated in the butter cross room at the back and we would have preferred the main restaurant (no choice given at time of booking) as it has a much better atmosphere. It was quite noisy in the room at the rear as there was a group dining in this room. We were seated on a side table and the air conditioning was far too cold. The food and service were very good to the usual high standard, although we think that the menu needs to be refreshed with some new dishes. Not a bad evening, but not the best we have experienced in this restaurant in Winchester
Love this restaurant nice food and nicely decorated
My friends and I had a wonderful lunch. The staff were warm and welcoming and put us at our ease by explaining all the ‘keep safe’ arrangements. We all enjoyed cocktails and a 2 course lunch with wine. A perfect time out from the difficult period we have all experienced. Well worth booking a visit.
Absolutely beautiful food. Will definitely be returning.
A really lovely experience again with fantastic service and fabulous food and drink! Well done to all the staff
Good all round.
First time I’ve had a steak cooked exactly as requested!
Fantastic food and service can’t fault it
Always love the ambience
Service was excellent. Food not so good. 3 fillet steaks and had to send back 2 of them. Asked med rare but was very rare. 2 retuned back, one corrected but had to send other back again. I Had scallops to start. Very bland and tasteless. Cook them better myself. Was very disappointed.
Despite having told the restaurant that one of our diners was coeliac we still had difficulty ensuring that we had a gluten free meal - whilst I value that all the food is cooked fresh and that they can accommodate gluten free by omitting certain ingredients I think that a restaurant of their standing should be registered with Coeliac Society UK as being able to provide gluten free meals.
Food was nice but the issue of having to chat to several different people to ensure a gf meal was poor
Service was good and they acknowledge that it was our anniversary with a small complimentary pudding
Excellent as always. We will be back soon. Great staff good food.
Staff were not really attentive, had to wait 20 minutes for bill to be then told needed to vacate table in 5 Minutes..
We all enjoyed our dinner choices and desserts too!! Yum Yum!!
We went to The Ivy for our Anniversary. We were very well looked after and we had a really wonderful time. The food was delicious, there was a lovely atmosphere and all members of staff were doing their very best to clean regularly and keep us all safe during the current situation.
Fabulous food, great choice. Ambience was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal
Staff very attentive. Food was outstanding. Can’t wait to go again
We had a fantastic evening. The manager on duty was very attentive and made a beautiful desert for our anniversary celebration. Food excellent and loved the social distanced tables as it felt more private. We will be back in September for birthday celebrations. We would like a table by the front window again for 4 of us. Between the 7th and 12th September. Thanks again.
Staff dealt with problems of social distancing well and were very polite, attentive and efficient.
It felt like an occasion.
Service was excellent, felt really well looked after.
Food was great. Rib eye cooked to my liking and fish cake was also outstanding.
Value for money with food and drinks.
Whole experience was amazing 😃
Our first visit to The Ivy in Winchester and we couldn't fault it. From the outset the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, the starter was excellent and our mains delicious!
If anything the portion sizes were very generous which left two of our party too full for dessert, but we tasted the excellent flambeed apple tarts of our fellow diners and they were wonderful.
The extensive cocktail & wine lists offered so much choice, and the drinks we ordered were just as described. We chose a smooth and fruity albarino that was heavenly.
Despite the restrictions imposed due to covid19 the atmosphere in the spacious restaurant was relaxed and condusive to a lively dining experience. well done to all involved in delivering hospitality at this elevated level in such difficult times!
Wrong drink replaced with no fuss. Lovely buzzy evening and good service.
Food was delicious and couldn’t fault the service. However was quite disappointed to see that the 3 courses for what is usually £22 had been increased to £35 as a result of the government up to £10 off scheme. I felt this is abusing the reason for the scheme being set up as well as the fact there has been a reduction in VAT.
Attention to detail felt a little lacking. We were a table of 3 and 2 starters were served a good 5 mins before the third. One main course was incorrect but was quickly rectified. The bream main course was very bland. If it wasn’t for the eat out to help out discount it would have been poor value for money.
Nice to be back . Would pass on the halumni next time tho . Too thick
Pre booked lunchtime visit on the back of EatOuttoHelpOut. Meet and greet friendly and professional, with non-invasive temperature taking. Very good table position, lots of good choices on the menu, felt very safe and clean. Offered digital or laminated menus. Servers engaged with customers, did not rush away from the table. Food runners wearing masks. Nice to see a new (by her own admission) member of staff being unobtrusively trained by a colleague. Servers asked if they could pour drinks or leave it to ourselves. Food choices we made were excellent, and we were not rushed. Nice to see small hand sanitiser discreetly placed with the condiments on the table. Overall all very happy to see The Ivy Brasserie Winchester open again. One small point - Sea Bassmain could have been a little hotter. Well done.
Always a great experience at the Ivy in Winchester, it was my wife's birthday and they made us feel very welcome and special, this was also sweetened by the Gov paying for half our bill too.
A lovely meal in a very pleasant environment, with first-class service.
As always great. Lovely relaxed atmosphere but still felt everyone was doing the right thing. First time I’ve eaten out since lock down
We enjoyed a delicious meal in a calm and ambient environment. The table service was outstanding and the staff made us feel safe and welcome.
The cleanliness of the restaurant was perfect and there was even a hand sanitiser available at every table!
We dined on the government scheme , so the value was excellent, service was fantastic, food was very good but not excellent. But a thoroughly lovely evening
Really lovely meal and ambience. Couldn't fault the service and we had the £10 off each from the A La Carte menu which was not expected. The shepherds pie is excellent!
Thoroughly recommend The Ivy Winchester for a special treat. The Set Menu was an excellent way to enjoy the delights of this super restaurant. CoVid precautions in place, including discreet hand sanitiser on each table.
Excellent food and service. Was a lovely place for a catch up with a friend.
Great food and service. Wine expensive and charged for water without even explaining it was chargeable I expected tap water. Quite noisy and social distancing in way to toilet not obvious . Especially encountering the waiters with food on the stairs. Food was exceptional but as it’s so expensive it will be a treat for a rare occasion. Waiter was superb didn’t get his name.
Exceptional meal and service in a lovely location. We were lucky enough to have the inside table that opened up to the street, it was gorgeous! Loved the starters and my fish cake and poached egg were divine! Star of the show was the chocolate bombe! Totally recommended!
Relaxed stylish dining, I was comfortable breast feeding my 6 week old and we were looked after very well indeed.
Excellent meal, service exemplary. More than happy to recommend
We went to The Ivy for a weekday lunch and it exceeded all of our expectations
Fabulous dining experience, food excellent - highly recommend
