We were celebrating my friends birthday it was the first time she has been to the Ivy , she loves it I have eaten there a few times now , I’ve never been disappointed, great food and service.
I would recommend.
Very high quality service and menu at affordable prices
Great atmosphere and food. Perfect for a romantic meal. Will definitely be back.
45 minute wait for the pre-booked table. Although the staff were very good about this it coloured the whole evening. The food varied. The starter was very ordinary whilst the main course was very good. Is it a stand out experience on the High Street dining scene. No, not at all.
Food and service really nice. Varied food menu and very friendly knowledgeable staff. Drinks menu was also good with some interesting cocktails.
All our tables food was first class and value for money.
Not so good points.
We were on an exposed table in the middle of the restaurant not a booth. It was very packed with not a lot of room between tables.
We booked the table well in advance but still had to wait 25 minutes for our table with very little room at the bar to wait. The staff were very professional and handled it well but it wasn’t the best start.
Yes I would definitely go back again but on a busy weekend night I would avoid the middle of the restaurant and get an booth type table around the edges.
It was difficult to have a conversation in this restaurant. It felt like being in a sports bar with a big game playing. Table we had been sat at simply uncomfortably close to the next table. Ambience was very poor and although the restaurant décor is very good, staff pleasant and the food just above average I would not risk another visit. Sorry but I have to be honest
One of the best meals out I've had recently - great service, great food!! It was a bit loud for my personal taste but it was a busy Saturday evening so what else do you expect. Thoroughly recommend it and will be back again to try some of the other things on the menu!!
I did struggle with a main option, i didn't feel they had a lot of variety. That said, everything else made up for it. If i lived closer i would be back in a heartbeat. Great ambience, beautifully decorated restaurant with lovely friendly staff.
I absolutely love the food and ambience of The Ivy and would highly recommend.
Excellent lunch - very impressed with the quality of the food and the service.
I really like ivy Winchester food is good comfortable atmosphere I like a lot been there few times on especial occasion for breakfast I give food 4Stars because this time my poched egg was bit cold
The Ivy had a great atmosphere, the food was amazing and come really quick!! Was a lovely experience. Will definitely be coming back!
Wonderful location and excellent service. Food was extremely good, delivered to the table promptly.
Prices were high but I suppose you have to pay for quality
We arrived at The Ivy, Winchester just before 6pm having met my son as he finished work. The welcome was very friendly and the service was outstanding.
We started with cocktails. Unfortunately the cocktail that I liked from a previous visit, called a "Study in Scarlet" wasn't on the cocktail menu and the bar staff didn't know how to make it so I had to settle for an alternative. Ten minutes later, however, a barman came on duty who remembered the "recipe" and the waiter came back to inform me. A very nice touch and the food was wonderful. A special mention must go to the staff, they were so knowledgeable and helpful.
This has to be my favourite restaurant - a real treat for special occasions and an excellent atmosphere. We will definitely be returning. I wholeheartedly recommend The Ivy.
Although there were empty tables, after we had finished I felt that we were being rush to leave.
We visited on the first anniversary of my Fathers death and it was a lovely experience. Fantastic food, great service. Have eaten in The Ivy in Winchester and Brighton now and both times have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Fantastic.
We very much enjoyed our visit to The Ivy and hope to return again in the spring. We were very well looked after by the staff. The menu was interesting and varied and we didn't feel hurried at all. Glad that we were seated near the window so could see the road outside.
I was very disappointed. We arrived at 6pm and finished and out by 7.15pm. I was approached 3 times in 10 minutes for a drink...even when i asked for extra time to look at the menu. Unfortunately i had to send one cocktail back but the replacement was awful...i saw another customer return the same cocktail. Got the starter before the cocktail arrived. Food was good and live music great but i would stick to the Ivy in London
Good food, good friendly service. Really enjoyed our first visit and will definitely go again.
Always really lovely to eat here. Even if it isn't a special occasion the staff really make it a lovely experience
First time at The Ivy on Sunday for my friends 30th birthday and we loved every minute of it. We enjoyed some drinks at the bar before being shown to our table. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great, couldn’t fault a thing. Will definitely return soon!
I love this restaurant, the service is very good, prices reasonable and there’s a great choice from the menu. It was very busy when I visited on this occasion, this didn’t affect the service but the noise levels were moderate.
Did find it a bit noisy, background music could be turned off, or make more mellow tone.
Had a great Sunday lunch with friends where every dish we ordered was most enjoyable and made to feel most welcome by the staff on arrival.
Highly recommend The Ivy Winchester, been many times and never disappointed.
The floor under our table had not been swept old food left. I returned my breakfast - eggs were cold. Waitress every 5 minute kept asking if we were ok. Usually use the ivy in Marleybone.
Great evening - lovely food well presented. Our only complaint was the blast of cold air whilst sitting at the bar when the inside entrance was opened.
Great night, great atmosphere with freidly staff and lovely food
Had brunch on Saturday afternoon in a January good choice on menu and drinks selection. Attentive staff food up to standard expected and never felt rushed in 3 hours.
Very disappointed with our visit, was a special one with our family travelling from Scotland . Arrived 15 mins early to be told could wait standing near bar but unlikely to get served as bar now for diners. Left and came back to be told table not ready and again to wait at bar . Waited ages to be served a drink even though not our fault that the table not ready. Eventually got table in a row that appears to have been added since I visited when first opened. Very busy and very noisy , now more like a canteen than a sophisticated experience. The food was good and our waiter was good but would not return or recommend as for the price need to have a more sophisticated offering. I think packing everyone in and nowhere to have pre meal drinks has really spoiled it .
Our first visit to The Ivy & really really enjoyed every minute. The service was first rate, the food was delicious and the attention to detail was first rate! Would thoroughly recommend a visit to anyone....can’t wait to go again.
Amazing as always, our ‘go to’ place for breakfast in Winchester. Just live it!
It was ok. We were sat by the window which was drafty and cold. Service was good apart from the manager dropped a portion of truffle chips over my father in law. Pork main course dish was average at best but the rest of the food was nice. The server who delivered desserts couldn’t flambé the apple tart so it was pretty much neat alcohol which completely drowned and overpowered the dessert and ruined it. We were out for a very special occasion so it was a shame that the experience wasn’t better.
Big fan! Would stop two hour table limit. Puts pressure to finish meal prematurely.
Great evening celebrating our son passing his driving test. Great service & food as always thank you
Super service from all staff, manager notably. Good food and lovely atmosphere. Sat in the window which was great.
A friend and I enjoyed our lunch. The service was attentive and the bartender went out of his way to create an alternative cocktail for me as Galliano was unavailable. It was lovely.
delicious food, excellent service : rapid, discreet, efficient.
live music too loud for a conversation to be held quietly.
A pleasant and ambient restaurant for meetings and general relaxing with fine food , served by friendly , smart staff.
I went for my birthday on a Wednesday night and when we arrived it wasn’t busy only 2/3 tables were occupied. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and we were served quickly. I enjoyed the piano and saxophone player that were there on the evening. I had worried they would be too loud but it was a good ambience. I highly recommend the Ivy, it is one of the best nights I have had in ages.
Good food and a good wine list .always well looked after and a lovely restaurant and decor.
