Had really nice brunch, food was good and fresh and they catered for gluten free which i was very happy about. Service was excellent too.
As someone who suffers from allergies, I struggle dining out, but the attentive care of the staff ensuring I was happy with my breakfast was incredible. The prices are what you expect to pay for a standard breakfast, but the taste, presentation and service you receive make this place outstanding!
Hi, a lovely visit to celebrate my mum's birthday. Really fabulous service (remembering a small cake for my mum was a nice touch), and food was great too. Few small observations to make it even better: It was very noisy to start of with, hard floors are an issue I know. I thought waiting staff at an Ivy made a note of who ordered what and did not need to ask. They did ask for our mains. Otherwise all wonderful :)
I was worried about a few negative reviews but I should not have been. If you want intimate and romantic with candles on the tables then forget it. If however, you want a superb service with a vibrant atmosphere and fantastic food then come here. Kieran, our waiter was great. Very attentive but not overly so. Would definitely recommend. A dining experience.
Food and service were excellent, all staff were attentive without being invasive. The noise level was something else and for preference I would have been happy if it had been a little quieter. I suspect that this has something to do with the style of building rather than people just being noisy. We were a table of 4 and we could not have a 4-way conversation. We will return for the food and service.
An enjoyable meal for a 60th birthday celebration. Good quality food and service in a relaxed but lively setting.
We had a lovely time celebrating my 50th birthday with a very special breakfast. The service was fantastic and the food was exceptional. Thank you The Ivy for a superb start to my Birthday celebrations.
This is our 3 visit to the Ivy, twice in Tunbridge Well and now Winchester.Excellent food , service and experience and would highly recommend to anyone
Delicious food, great service, relaxed ambiance. Favourite place to eat in Winchester.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing delicious food. Friendly and attentive staff, where nothing is too much trouble. It was my sisters birthday so they brought out a little cake with a candle in with a Happy Birthday chocolate plaque. What a lovely surprise that was! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food and atmosphere - equally as good as the Kings Road branch
Small portions. Service slow and patchy. Wrong cocktails delivered (although deducted from bill) wine not kept topped up. It was a special birthday treat that didn't feel particularly special.
Excellent food and service. Only complaint would be the price of the drinks . Outrageous to be honest.
Fabulous! as always!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent service and food! Highly recommended this restaurant!
Excellent food and service. A very enjoyable evening
Booked The Ivy for my husbands birthday and the staff made it feel very special. He was wished a happy birthday as we entered. Had a drink at the bar which was very entertaining watching James make cocktails. Shown to our table where we were very well looked after. Food was great as was the atmosphere.
It was a celebratory meal which did not disappoint. I would thoroughly recommend it.
The experience was very enjoyable and I would not hesitate to recommend the Ivy as a venue for both casual dining as well as for a significamnt event. The ambiance was good even if theh diners were a little noisy! Perhaps caused by the good, hot food and the excellent wines. The service was excellent as was the food. The chocolate bomb desert seems to have made a major impact on my other half .
Food was good and staff were polite attentive and friendly but part of our order was wrong and some drinks we ordered never turned up although were taken off the bill which was appreciated as a goodwill gesture.
Great atmosphere, setting and overall dining experience, will definitely go back.
We arrived on time having reserved a table in advance. The receptionist was very helpful and confirmed that we were there for a special occasion. My friends had just got married and four of were there for a brunch. Food was excellent, ambiance excellent, staff were very attentive and helpful. As we were finishing our breakfast to our amazement we were presented with a complimentary bottle of champagne by the manager. So we stayed and enjoyed the pleasant ambiance longer enjoying the champagne. Thank you. We shall return again when in Winchester.
In my view very over rated and over priced. My meal and guest's meals where warm and had gone cold by the time meal had ended. Sweets very over rated and over priced. Lots of good and better priced and value, and big names places to eat in Winchester which would get my recommendation above the Ivy
Absolutely lovely experience I would through recommend it. Staff were very kind, attentive and thoughtful.
Great food, great service, superb ambience, thoroughly recommend
We booked The Ivy online for a meal with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our first booking wasn't acknowledged, so we booked again the following day and received confirmation. A couple of days before the meal someone phoned to ask whether we wanted two tables of four, so we cancelled one of them.
The restaurant was busy but there were plenty of staff around. Service was friendly, but not particularly efficient. The food was pleasant, but vastly overpriced for what was served up. Our friend had Eggs Benedict, but did not particularly enjoy it as it was served lukewarm. We would have mentioned this to staff, but no-one came over while we were eating to check whether we were happy with our meals, which is something we would normally expect. One nice touch was that my husband received a mini-cake for his birthday.
On the whole, we were disappointed with The Ivy and probably won't bother eating there again.
Service levels could do with improvements, they were slow in taking orders. Brought the wrong meal out and then didn’t top the wine glasses up which meant we had to always get up from the table to top up glasses as the wine is kept away from the table.
Good was cold, delivered late and destroyed my birthday - eat often at Blackheath branch and I know that’s good - Winch you let me down
An excellent place to impress your friends and will not bust the budget.
Noisy, squashed, overpriced, conveyor belt chain. Main meal was served when my wife wasn’t at the table. So it was going cold. Squashed in like sardines, so a romantic evening with my wife was shared with next couple less than 2 feet away. And the noise was like living under the flight path at Heathrow. Never again.
Food was good but you feel like you are being hurried out all the time. Your drinks are topped up constantly rather than leaving you to pour at you own pace. The waiter started to clear our plates before everyone in the party had finished eating. It is obvious they have several seatings and it’s just about making money. Wouldn’t go again on Saturday night.
Fabulous evening enjoying good food & wine. Attentive, friendly staff and beautiful art nouveau surroundings.
Impeccable service from all members of staff, delicious food varied menu
Couldn’t fault the three and a half hours we spent there
My three friends and I all thoroughly enjoyed everything about our dining experience at The Ivy. The waiting staff were extremely courteous, professional, knowlegable and friendly. We were all very happy with our menu choices and the whole ambience was superb. We've already booked to dine with you again soon. Many thanks.
Our server was incredibly abrupt to the point of being rude. Unfortunately it really affected our dining experience in a negative way. It was a special occasion and so unfortunate to have it ruined in that way. I've been going to The Ivy in London as long as I can remember and I have always had a fantastic experience. I wouldn't recommend the Winchester Ivy nor would I book it again.
We enjoyed our meal at the Ivy however there were a few basic improvements that could have been made. The background music was very loud which made conversation around the table difficult to hear. It was a Saturday lunchtime so the loud music added to the volume of people talking made it difficult. The waitress also was struggling to hear orders. We enjoyed the food but the first two meals came out at least 10 minutes before the other 3. They weren’t overly warm to begin with so they started eating and the other 3 meals were barely warm when they arrived. We’re not ones to complain so kept quiet and we were just happy to have our food but we won’t be returning too quickly. It’s a shame as we are normally very pleased with the service.
Lovely building, great food, great service. For the price I'm paying I would expect vegetables to come with the shepherds pie rather than having to order, and pay extra, for separate vegetables
As always a beautiful meal of the highest quality. Service outstanding. We will be back again (and again!).
Overall we had a nice evening at the Ivy in Winchester but it’s not as good as it should be. One of the starters was lukewarm, aside from that the food was quite good. The puddings were excellent though. The service is ok although the person serving us was quite solemn! We came away feeling the evening had been nice but not amazing. It’s definitely worth a try but there are better restaurants in Winchester.
You need to do something about the noise levels we had to shout at each other to be heard - started to ruin the evening- you can get paint that absorbs the noise but you need something
Lovely evening from beginning to end. Staff were so gracious and welcoming. Food was lovely.
