Service was excellent. Food just about perfect, chips weren’t up to usual standard but other than that was a wonderful meal.

We selected the set menu. Everything was great except the chips were a bit lukewarm. I would hope that if I mentioned it, they would have rectified them.

Very disappointed with the service, too slow and after our champagne cream tea we ordered some coffe but that never arrived and we had to leave. Waitress dropped plate next to my husband and he came home with shoes and trousers covered in food splashes. So over all very poor for spending lots of money on special occasion.

Very disappointing compared to other Ivy Brasseries we have eaten at. Service seemed very rushed - we had the feeling that they wanted to move us on swiftly so they could get more customers using the table! We arrived at 7.15 and had taster and main course and we’re paying bill at 8pm. Not a very relaxing evening. Food was very mediocre to say the least. Tasteless fish cake which was mainly mashed potato. Very old and limp watercress on top of it. Sides of green beans and chips were very poor - soggy tasteless chips and green beans over cooked and certainly didn’t look fresh and green! And then to round off our meal, the bill included a hefty 12.5% (?) tip with no option to delete it! We won’t be returning. Shame because the ambience was great and it was good to see how busy it was.

We were given a voucher by our daughter for a joint birthday celebration for afternoon tea for two. The service and food were very good. The table we were at appeared to be wedged in so I had waiting staffs bottoms in my face as they were trying to pass. It was extremely noisy but that’s understandable because it was very busy with a lot of people talking. We took a doggy box as we could not eat everything and were then challenged as to why we had extra scones in the box but the waiter had offered them so we said why not. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed it.

Throughout the booking process which was about a month away, The venue made my process simpler and quicker. I applaud the professionalism of all the staff I encountered before the actual day. We had to make changes to the number of seats on different occasions. The management was flexible and understanding. 5 stars for their willingness to help. One hour before the time and date for our appointment the customer service called to confirm if we would come. the second call from them 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time was a mistaken identity nevertheless, harmless. The atmosphere was wonderful. My guests were all impressed. the quality of the food was okay. Customer service from our designated waiter (Angela) was fantastic. Service time for drinks and food was okay.

Always love a visit to the Ivy. The food is excellent along with the service, all staff members are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. On a grey day, as it was on my last visit, stepping inside the Winchester Ivy is like stepping into summer. My only criticism would be that the tables in the main restaurant are very close to each other and a little small.

We were looked after so very well from the instant we stepped through the front doors. Despite the restaurant being full Kenji took the time to have a chat with us and made us feel that we were truly welcome as diners to The Ivy. We had a wonderfully tasty meal and when Lewis offered us dessert we simply weren't able to take him up on his offer because we were so full. We had a lovely chat with Lewis too and were very impressed with the level of service that he provided. We will undoubtedly visit some more restaurants in the chain in the very near future.

It is pricy for the non-rich among us, but for a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary it is excellent. The service was superb and included a surprise additional birthday pudding. The food is brasserie food but was perfectly cooked with excellent range and depth of flavours. [If I was being super hypercritical, I think the mayonnaise with the Korean chicken had a tiny bit too much salt.] The less expensive wine options are high quality. Altogether we had a really lovely birthday meal and very stress-free evening.

Outstanding level of service and attentiveness. Good range of choices on menu. Our starters, main courses and desserts were really tasty and good quantities. Lighting level good for ambience but made menu reading difficult. We were offered a table lamp but used torch on phones instead. Noise levels were high reflecting that the place was buzzing but made it difficult for me to hear what the waiters were saying even though I have hearing aids. Fortunately my wife was able to act as an ‘interpreter’ for me.

Found some staff to be undertrained. For example, my glass of Chablis was not very cold, and when I brought it to my server’s attention, she said “I could put ice in it”. Never heard such a poor response. Most people do not put ice in their Chablis to chill it!

I enjoy many things on the menu, the service is average, and the decor is very pleasing. Sadly, the whole experience of dining with friends there is ruined by the terrible acoustics, which make the place a cacophony of noise. Better to sit outside, but then I'd only be there on war, sunny days, so sadly this miss my custom for most of the year. This noise issue is well known to all my friends, who chose not to go there anymore as a direct result. Hence, if I were the owners, I'm get some sound proofing sorted out.

Overall an enjoyable breakfast. However, marked down because my pastries were overdone and rock hard tasting burnt. You could visibly see they were overdone so I'm surprised me that the chef would send them out like this. It's a shame because other than this they would have had 5 stars.

Our starters Pea soup for myself and cheese soffle for my wife were delicious. We both had minute steaks for mains. Very nice. I had ice cream for dessert and my wife had creme brule which she really enjoyed. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and were given a celebratery dessert which was a lovely touch. The Ivy has a good atmosphere and we will certainly visit again.

This was my first visit to a popular Winchester restaurant. Good location and lovely decor inside. The food was average, certainly not exceptional. There were hardly any salads on the menu and when we asked the waiter for a vinaigrette sauce he said he did not know what it was! I wanted a steak tartare but was informed that it was made in the kitchen, not the french way at your table. The portions were quite small. Compared to the Cote Brasserie and Brasserie Blanc in Winchester I would put the Ivy in third place.
