At last we have found a pub in the Newbury area that has exceeded our expectations. We look forward to returning to again enjoy their menu and drinks selection.

The situation is lovely but considering our table was only 12.30 it felt like we were at the last Sunday Roast sitting. We had to send the roast potatoes back as they were too hard on the outside to eat. We did get replacements but not lovely, fluffy roasties. Cauli cheese was charred on the outside, cauli was dry as a result. Meat was ok, I had lamb and there was a lot of fat and gristle, my Dad had beef, one piece was pink and one overcooked and very dark. A disappointing meal at 22gbp for each meal.

A very peasant spot in the countryside just north of Andover. The meal was of good quality, and fairly good value.

Finally got around to trying the Jack Russell and wondered why we waited so long. We were there for fish Friday and enjoyed really tasty monkfish scampi and chips. Desserts excellent too. Really lovely service to top it off.
