Wonderful lunch, served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Best kids menu ever, as rated by my 3 boys who are experts. I enjoyed my vegetarian options as much as my husband enjoyed his non-vego ones.
Everything about the place is wonderful. The only niggle would be some of the staff were over-friendly and interrupted our conversation a little abruptly.
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch! Great service too!
Great place. Fantastic meal! Would recommend and we will definitely go again.
Our annual visit! Never disappointing. Excellent food with a good range of options
Well kept beers, table water delivered with sliced cucumber. Delicious, why don’t other places make this simple addition.
Tasty well cooked food and friendly helpful staff.
I’ve eaten at the restaurant at least 6 times now, it our go to destination for anniversary meals. But on this occasion I felt disappointed. On arrival we greated by the bar man a very likeable chap. He showed us to our table offered to get drinks wait 15mins for them, ordered food starter came nice parfait a bit lumpy at the end. Now the salad 1slice of green and two off cuts of red leaf not a salad in my opinion. Main course of roast beef arrived seemed fine but mine was gristly and one bowl of veg between 2 of use when we’d been used to 1 each in previous visits and not the best veg. Coli broccoli and a few carrots and a few strip of cabbage. We didn’t stay for dessert after that which is disappointing as they generally are good. I think I’d have to think twice about returning as the excuse was we are in transition and a new chief has just started.
Bitterly disappointed and hope it returns to your customery high standards.
Cheers Mr S Richardson.
The food was outstanding. Excellent menu. Great bar. Top marks to the staff who were brilliant. Made us feel very welcome and were great with kids. Can’t recommend the Joiners Arms highly enough. Good drive from Newcastle but most definitely worth the trip!
Very impressive location with friendly staff who were very helpful despite being so busy. Food was excellent.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere and amazing food! Very dog friendly and a lovely touch having little dog treat bags. We love this pub so much that we’re eating there five times in a seven night stay in the area!! Excellent food, service and ambience. We can’t recommend it highly enough.
Was a busy night that we went but from entering the pub and getting a drink from the bar the staff were friendly and efficient made you feel as though you were a regular customer. The food was excellent as was the service in the restaurant. A very enjoyable evening infact we returned Saturday and Sunday. Highly recommended.
We went for my son's birthday as it is his favourite restaurant. It was a Bank Holiday weekend and was very busy. Our table was booked in advance but we had to wait ages before it was available. Apart from that though it was a lovely meal. Everyone enjoyed the food and the waiting staff were really good
Brilliant place to eat. Love it there. Staff very friendly and good banter.
Great place for a family meal, great food, good value attentive staff.
Lovely Sunday lunch and great service. We rang ahead to say we’d be a little bit late and they were great about it even though they were really busy. Recommended
Really good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was good. A little disappointed that the pork dish had been taken off the menu.
A lovely place to eat and relax. Staff attentive and polite and food was above par.
Nice location with parking nearby and a sunny terrace at the rear
We had a very good meal sitting outside in the sun , the service was good along with the food . It was ideal having brought our pet dog with us for the day .
daughters dough balls arrived microwaved into hard bullets. Main courses served cold, steak requested medium arrived well done. Service slap dash. Very disappointed
We were surprised to find it so busy on a cold wet day but had booked a table.
We both had fillet steak which was cooked to our specifications and was fab. We had crumble and eton mess for dessert and again fab.
The staff were fine only downside was our coffees arrived before our desserts.
Not cheap but well worth it
Probably my favorite pub for food at the moment, a great place to relax enjoy a pint and let the world go by.
Great service and food as always x
Fantastic service - the staff were fantastic in meeting the needs of my niece and the specific requirements of other members of my family. The food was great - huge portions. We were particularly impressed with the value of the children’s menu.
Everything was amazing!
We stayed there back in January and it was so good we decided to come back, and after our visit this time we’ll be back again
Excellent service and atmosphere. We ate here two nights in a row as the food was so good. Excellent gluten free fish and chips and roast dinner. Thanks to Kate, Lindsey, Barry and Vicky.
Have dined a number of times here & have always been impressed with both the quality of the food & service.
Would usually rave about Joiners, but were very disappointed at this visit. Poor service. Cold plates, so food chilled very quickly. Dirty plates still on table 20 mins after we finished eating. We were going to have dessert but as no one could be bothered to clear the table and take an order we left. Bought sticky toffee pudding and ice cream at the local coop for a fraction of the price. Wont be rushing back in all honesty. They need to sort service out or their reputation will plummet
Joiners arms always good on food and service. We sat in front of the window this time and neither of our guests could take their coats off. There was an icy blast through the windows. Pity as it was for a birthday.
Excellent food service and location. The staff were friendly snd the food was perfect.
The food was really great and enjoyed by us all (2 adults and 2 kids). The staff were helpful and friendly and we would definitely go back.
An excellent lunch. Food was fresh and tasty, especially the fish.
GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND INFORMALITY ALTHOUGH YOU SENSE YOU ARE SOMEWHERE "SPECIAL", NOT JUST THE 'LOCAL PUB'. FOOD WAS GREAT ESPECIALLY THE LAMB RACK. SERVICE WAS TOP CLASS.
Lovely country pub with a good menu and great food and staff.
Smashing little place for food. Never had a bad meal. Staff are always attentive and on hand. Due to great local walks along the coast, many people bring their dogs, so not recommended if you have a serious allergy to them.
Great place and food. Service wasn't great though - very slow and felt a bit forgotten about!.Although didn't ruin our evening, would still return.
Always enjoy a visit to joiners arms when up in Northumbria.
Fab location & great food
Great staff, lovely hotel and nice food.
Lovely little touches with your own cocktail to make on arrival and complimentary drink. The staff were very friendly and informative.
The room was lovely although would benefit from a free standing bath in it after a day of walking!
Would thoroughly recommend to friends and family.
Fish and chips portions could be slightly smaller and also good to have a beer below 4% proof please
Fantastic service and food. Cocktails superb.
Spent three nights here and love every minute.
The rooms were serviced properly everytime and a joy to stay in.
The staff were fantastic. Very recommended! 100%
Great place, quality food had a Sunday lunch with family and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, very busy so I would advice booking ,
Service with deserts and coffee was slow but highly recommend this pub / restaurant
