If you're out with your dog and want to go for a meal this is a great place. The table next to us, the dog sat up on the bench with its owner.
Good service, and the starter and dessert were good.
Main course let it down.
As a vegetarian, I chose vegan 'fish and chips'(against my better judgement since I don't normally choose food called something I associate with non veggie)
It was described as battered banana flowers.
However, when I sliced into it, it looked just like chicken, and I just couldn't put it in my mouth.
My husband, who is my taster when I'm unsure about food, tried it and said it had no real taste at all.
The staff checked it was vegan, but I still couldn't eat it.
Pity.
Also a very echoey restaurant, and as a wearer of hearing aids, I could not hear properly any one talking to me.
Not likely to go again.

Food was very good and well presented. This is a very popular and busy place so booking is recommended and service is fairly good. We had the fish n chips which was very good vfm, but would have liked the curry sauce to be a bit thicker in texture.

Tasteless prawns so near the sea. Warm red wine - not sure where they could have kept it to get that warm. Altogether underwhelming.

Staff were quick to take orders and bring drinks etc and also cleared away promptly.

The salted pepper squid and tempura prawns were delicious but the star of the evening was the fillet steak- all 4 of us decided to treat ourselves and we asked for medium rare- came out perfect!

Next time we visit northumberland we will definitely go here again but this time we will make sure we use the big car park just up from the pub which we completely missed!

We enjoyed a lovely family meal at The Joiners Arms while we were on holiday with our three children. Though it was busy, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good. It was nice to chat to the locals while our children stroked their dogs after the meal in the bar area. The beach is a short walk or drive down the road which was perfect for the kids to let off steam afterwards.

The food is tasty and well cooked. Unfortunately the service didn’t match. We were brought to the table by our first waiter and then promptly got approached by another waiter who said he’d be our dedicated waiter for the evening. My parter got his starter. 5 minutes later I got my starter and main by a 3rd waiter who we’d not seen before. We asked for my main to be sent back but the waiter said that my starter and main was down for being served at the same time (but not my partner’s for some reason). 5 minutes later the 1st came back and apologised profusely for his mistake. Then the 3rd waiter came back to take our plates and then the 2nd waiter who said he would be our dedicated waiter for the night took our dessert menus. I don’t have a problem with different waiters but when one waiter tells you he’s going to be your waiter for the evening and you get others serving you who seemingly don’t know what they’re doing, it’s a bit offputting. If the service was more co-ordinated, I’d have given more stars.

Quite a lot of food was not available..no steak, no burgers and no mushy peas. A very limited menu as a consequence. It was very noisy and the tables were close together. I had fish and chips due to limited menu and it was mediocre with thick batter. We had to ask for the mushy peas as they had forgotten them and knives and forks too. The staff were pleasant but over worked so I would not return.

The service was perfect. Shown to table even as we were a little early. Food was great, only thing we found poor was the roast potatoes, they were not as expected. Other than that we would go again no trouble.

Very nicely decorated (although very hot), and excellent services.
Main courses are overpriced however, and left everyone somewhat underwhelmed.
Would return as it’s good for kids, but will be careful with meal selection!

It seemed a little chaotic when we arrived but it was very busy even at 6pm so I was pleased we had booked a table (you must book a table). The food was excellent - tasty and well presented. I liked the fact the menu wasn't extensive which generally means the food is freshly prepared which it was. The service was delightful with our server making recommendations and being generally attentive without being intrusive. Altogether an enjoyable meal.

Excellent Sunday lunch great value. Food was lovely especially the vegetable selection. Child’s menu was great with mini roast available. And we could take our dog with no fuss. Will definitely return, can see why it is so popular locally.

Lovely location in Disappointed with my quinoa salad as it had no dressing. I had to ask for mayonnaise as there was way too much lettuce to eat without dressing. I ordered sea bass to go with the salad, which was a good move (perfectly cooked) as I would have been disappointed with just the salad. Why not offer haloumi to go with the salad? Husband’s burger came with fries but no salad, which was stingy. House red was a bit rough. However, puddings (lemon torte and sticky toffee pudding) were delightful. Staff were friendly and well-trained but we did have to wait for a few minutes until anyone acknowledged us when we arrived.

It had been a little while since we dined there but it was very disappointing. The food was overpriced and the fish and chips were only passable. The chips were soggy and not crispy at all. My main gripe was how thin and watery the curry sauce was. I even told the waitress but she just apologised and didn’t even offer to take it off the bill. When we were seated at the table the waiting staff were passing back and forward our table but it was ages before anyone took our order. All in all not a great dining experience not to be repeated. Competition is fierce and there are a lot more eating establishments to choose from. The Joiners needs to up its game.

Had a meal on Sunday. We pre-booked a table but chose to sit outside. The staff were all very polite and friendly.
The food was delicious. A good choice for vegetarians and vegans. Even though it was a Sunday there still was enough choice so you were not confined to having Traditional Sunday lunch. None of our table had Sunday lunch but from what I could see from other tables it looked delicious.
Dogs are welcomed with plenty of water bowls and they loved the treat bags 😀😀🐕🐕
