Lovely laid back family lunch.
The pizzas were delicious with plenty of toppings and thin, crispy base. The Gammon was the ‘best ever had’
Even Ted the dog was made to feel welcome.
Delicious fish & chips still one of our favourite places to eat Ali g the coast . Staff absolutely great as always even providing a couple of wine tastings as I was unsure of which one to choose. Keep up the good work guys - see you again soon!
It is because of the Covid times we live in, but it was more like a business transaction than an enjoyable experience. The staff were all fine and the food was ok too, but it was like there was no joy in the place. Not their fault, it's crazy times and you should check the place out for yourself and not be put off, but it was just sad to see it now compared with in past times. Fingers crossed we can all smile together soon.
Good ambience very friendly staff
Good pub food simple and well done
Very busy garden full of holidaying families
We booked our table and were shown in straight away, the food arrived within 10-15 minutes of ordered and was delicious. The garden had nice playground equipment which. The kids lived and the staff were friendly. Overall a good value family pub, would go back
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we were staying nearby & were able to walk there & enjoy our meal.
Excellent beer garden for food. Service was excellent at the bar and by table staff. Adult meal delicious good price and large portion. Kids meal on the slightly expensive side as had to order fries separately. I should have asked to be sat nearer the play equipment as was seated at the furthest table but then asked (to supervise child and rightly so) but as Lind parent this then meant I could dine and supervise. Very friendly staff and plenty on parking.
Some businesses seem to be struggling to get to grips with organisation and opening up out of covid lockdown. In our experience The Jolly Sailors has met the challenge head on a doing a great job. Booking online was simple with a choice of inside or outside dinning. On arrival we had the choice of parking spaces, but it is a very popular place and we have known it to be much busier. Covid instructions were clear and followed to the letter, without being stuffy and we had a warm welcome at the door. We chose to eat outside; benching is well spaced and drinks and food are currently pay as you go as you order at the bar, which is set up in three beach huts. Food arrived quickly, was hot and fresh and was delicious. Service was attentive and we enjoyed our first family meal in quite some time, in what is a well organised, low key, family friendly venue. We would recommend a meal here and would definitely consider another visit another time.
Excellent - would highly recommend to anybody. Great food, service and value.
Great venue for outdoor eating and lovely for the kids.
Awesome pub, lively, friendly, suitable for dogs and they have local ale!
Visited three times on holiday lovely kids play area outside with umbrellas for shade and nice food very friendly staff
Fabulous food. Pizzas amazing so thin and crispy loads of topping. Pulled pork burgers also a winner
I love this place. We always visit when we are in Norfolk. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the baguettes delicious, and the rum aMazing. Thank you.
Four of os had scampi and chips whic were very good. However far too many peas were served - half the amount would have been enough. Al was fine with soup and ham baguettes.
Fabulous pizzas, Fabulous sundaes. Best place to eat on the North Norfolk coast
Not the best experience, starter was burnt (and not great). Drink took 15mins to arrive. Didn't stay for the main as the service was poor. Only saved by a manager trying to settle the situation. Perhaps we weren't the type of folks that could be part of the warm friendly atmosphere as advertised. Or perhaps it was an off night.
We managed to book a table when our 1st 2nd and 3rd choices were full that should have alerted us. We arrived on time and was taken to a sticky table in the garden (we did request outside) looking around most tables had stacked empty plates, people looking for waitresses to pay their bills, others asking for more drinks... i know it is difficult with the restrictions that you cannot get up to go get drinks but the place looked like the waitresses should put down their Ipad order tablet and actually waitress... it was quite busy we were seated and told they would be back to take a drinks order 20 mins later we finally flagged down a waitress to ask not only for drinks but to move inside as it had become a bit cooler plus a lot of noise from barking dogs and children... which I totally understand but it was a lot.. we moved inside and asked if we can order drinks 5 mins later we again managed to alert a member of staff a lady who asked what food we wanted we explained we had not seen a menu which we had requested, she walked away brought the menu which she shoved in our faces saying she didn't have one of the menus choices, in such a manner my friend and I just looked at each other... no sorry ladies for the long wait, no can I get you some drinks while you look at the menu, we said can we have a minute to look at the menu, however the inside table and chairs felt sticky and the curtain next to the table was full of food the whole ambiance was not good, certainly not what I would choose to enjoy an evening... we decided that the attitude of that member of staff and the whole place was not good certainly made a good choice to leave.
I do not usually leave bad reviews in fact I would rather have spoken to someone but it was hard to track down a senior member of staff, and I fear the person who was so rude was the person in charge... this place needs some thorough cleaning, and training in customer service, cannot comment on the food but from what I saw it was basic.
The best family food on the North Norfolk Coast. Check out the chicken curry!
Great, good food, good for the kids. Nice atmosphere
Overall quite disappointing. Expected much better knowing that the same person owns the White Horse down the road. The pub itself looks quite untidy and run down. Ordered smoked pulled pork burger. That came with a huge pile of fries (quite tasty to be honest) and two sides in a small plastic pots which looked like they came out of a jar. Pulled pork was okay but did not have much flavour so not great.
Always love the hero. It was nice when we could just turn up but that’s a sign of the times. Lovely pizzas albeit a bit overpriced.
Generally OK but pasta well over cooked. Should be al dente
Simple food served outside. Delicious and excellent service - thank you
Excellent service, well run and great food. Would highly recommend.
An absolute must of if you have kids… ideally set up to give adults a bit of chill time whilst the kids have fun.
Pizzas really good…although it’s about time for new flavours, been the same for years now! Pulled burger very good too. Staff friendly and helpful. Good value, will go again
Always a great evening at the Jolly Sailors. Fantastic location, lovely staff and great food 🙂
An enjoyable evening at an old favourite. Staff were very busy, despite the online bookings, but were very friendly, and attentive.
Nice table in the original part of the pub.
Good solid pub and restaurant which is very consistent, great for families.
Excellent food as usual, very good with children.............................
A lovely evening. The service is outstanding - friendly, courteous and very efficient. Plus Monday evening meant the Nelson Shanty Singers practising - wonderful! A great play area for children, but the garden is big enough that those not using it won't be bothered by it. All in all, highly recommended.
Excellent food and everyone was extremely friendly. Super quick service, have been many times and will return soon.
Two happy vegan daughters. Build your own vegan pizza a hit. Fish and chips superb as was the prawn and chorizo pasta dish. Service was speedy. All the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Oh, the dog was made very welcome too.
Food was amazing as always and great value for money always our restaurant of choice when in Norfolk.
Unable to pay cash, still finishing off drinks after spending £250 and told we had to get off table ( bearing in mind we were outside and there was several other empty tables)
Disappointing end to birthday get together
On holiday in Norfolk and chose the Jolly Sailors for our family meal out based on previous reviews. The food and service were both fantastic. Staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful.
We sat outside in the large beer garden. Lovely staff and swift service. The menu has most of the usual pub classics. We both had pizza, which was delicious - fantastic thin and crispy bases.
Great food, good selection of drinks & friendly staff. What more do you want!
Great little pub. We chose this pub as we have a 4?year old so needed somewhere that was child friendly and and somewhere for her to play.
The food was perfectly good food grub. It certainly wasn’t sophisticated it perfect tkynadequate for a cheap pub meal
