The Jones Family Kitchen
Great location and service; food is just ok; burger was very dry and daughter couldn’t eat
Found this hidden gem whilst searching for restaurants to eat in pre-theatre for dinner. The pre-theatre menu is great and very good value for money. The decor is lovely and all staff were exceptionally friendly. It was very quiet in the restaurant so they had time to spare, but we got the feeling that they’re always that attentive! Cocktail list looked wonderful and what we had was very good - we’re just sad we didn’t have time to sample more. Overall the food and drinks were great, ambience relaxed but classy and staff exceptional. We’ll definitely return.
Imaginative menu, with good quality Ingredients, attentive staff and a great location.
Best steak in London, period. Tops two Hawksmoor I tried and Goodman Mayfair and Popeseye and the four branches of steak co. Flat iron good but different end of market and different level. Will return
Had previously been to Shoreditch was perfect in every way despite being a really busy Thursday night... this was a relatively quiet Saturday night but one of our sides took a really long time to arrive, long after the mains were served and we were told we wouldn't be charged. Yet we still were which was disappointing and we just didn't have the energy to argue about it.
Otherwise the food was good, steaks cooked perfectly. Was quite disappointed with my fries which were a bit soggy. Hopefully they'll do better next time although I would be inclined to go back to Shoreditch instead even though the one in Victoria is more convenient for us.
Fantastic restaurant. Really good value for money. Been several times and will definitely be back again.
Food was good and decent value but kitchen took way to long with order and it wasn’t that busy
Excellent food (meat roasts specially succulent), very friendly and knowledgeable service, and lovely atmosphere. The quiet (in pedestrian courtyard) sunny terrace for aperitifs or meals outside is another big plus.
Personal, attentive and efficient service. Perfect with light good for pre theatre
Have discussed our evening with the management. Hopefully our poor experience was a one- off.
Very good choice of restaurant for pre-theatre supper. Fantastic service and food superb. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
What a wonderful, hidden gem. I really enjoyed this restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and attentive without being overly so. There was a really nice vibe. The set lunch menu was excellent value. My bavette was delicious. I will certainly return when I can and really recommend a visit to this fine establishment.
Pre-theater family meal - excellent food and service was outstanding. In fact, one of the employees walked my mother, wife and daughters from the restaurant to the theatre hosting Wicked. Tremendous experience!
Perfect pre-theatre meal. Great food, service and value!
It was my second time to dine here and again, the food and wine was great.
bland, unseasoned roast dinner. Very small portion for the price. Friendly staff and pretty decor of the place were only nice things about the experience.
The perfect venue for a night out with friends or lunch with the family. The food is always incredible, and the fresh produce is very evident in how mouthwatering each dish is. I’ve had the various cuts of steak, fish and veggies and they have all always been excellent. In addition to the above, the staff are also exceptional. So friendly and welcoming, regardless of whether we have come with two young children or a group of adults. The ambiance is perfect as well, and sets the tone for a memorable experience every time. Needless to say, we will keep coming back!
Cute place - service was a little slow and not very well versed. Food was decent, wines were very average.
Really lovely setting, fantastic service and amazing food. Loved it and will definitely be returning.
A pré-theatre meal at The Jones Family Kitchen was excellent. Very warm welcome, great service and great food at a very good price. Lovely ambience.
I took my girlfriend here as part of her birthday celebration as a bit of fun given that her surname is Jones, too. Turns out, I'd have no hesitation in recommending The Jones Family Kitchen to anybody and we will definitely be back again! The food (and drink) was incredible, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. The whole experience there was a real treat.
Mains did not arrive for 1 hour after ordering them !
Ambience is great and the decor lovely. I have eaten here a number of times and i’ve Always been slightly disappointed with the food. Last week the poor waitress came back twice to say our choices weren’t available but she tried her best! Not the best steak i’ve tasted but ok. But the convenience of the location and the ambience means I will go back but ever hopeful the food improves as it’s not cheap....
Love this local gem! Terrific food, staff, garden, etc. Fantastic beef!
Booked a table here for my wife and I for food and drinks before going to see Hamilton at the Vic. Sat in the bar area as it was fairly quiet when we arrived. Fabulous decor, super attentive waiting staff and delicious food. The pre-theatre menu is good value - peppercorn sauce which accompanies the steak is killer! Crispy courgettes are a must too. Can’t wait to go back!
The mac and cheese wreaked havoc on my digestive tract.
The food was lovely. We all had steaks and they were gorgeous - good quality and very tasty. There was a good choice of sides - and they were all great. I especially recommend the macaroni cheese. The only thing that stopped it getting a 5 star rating was that our food was very slow to arrive even though the restaurant was not overly busy.
Delicious food with great service in a lovely setting. Perfectly cooked steak with a wide range of sides and a lovely bottle of red. One of my favourite restaurants in London.
Some of the food was really nice. I had the beetroot starter which was delicious. However I had the nut roast and some of the veg was raw and the meal was really dry as there wasn't enough gravy. We were sat very close to the other tables and you could hear everyone's entire conversation. My steamed pudding was burnt on the bottom. Service was ok but we weren't asked how our food was so didn't feel I could complain. A little dissapointing.
First visit and very impressed. Excellent food, charming staff and a very pleasant setting. Already planning my second visit.
Perfect little pre-theatre menu, in a nice smart environment. The staff were wonderful.
Everything was perfect. The food was amazing! All the waiters were lovely with us
Fabulous pre theatre meal, very good value, excellent service especially on our tight timing (our fault).
5 minute walk to Hamilton.
We were welcomed warmly and served quickly. We dined from the pre-theatre menu and the food was good but overpriced for what we had. We had 2 courses each, soup, a chicken terrine, hake and bavette steak, a cheap cut. The accompaniments were scarce (a very small number of fries with the steak and some overpowering sun-dried cherry tomatoes with the hake) and the steal was overseasoned. We declined to have dessert. I was disappointed as I had researched the pre-theatre options thoroughly, had high hopes and found the experience lacking.
Very tasty and good value food, would return, only one dish was slightly strange, the pannacotta, the rest was amazing.
Very great food and service and staff has superb knowledge on their food and wines. we were very satisfied.
Excellent and one of the best steaks I’ve had. Wine list was very good also.
We enjoy the atmosphere , the food and service . Rosie , our waitress , particularly charming and attentive.
Pity the restaurant is not more full
Great atmosphere, gorgeous food and outstanding service
nice place - great ambience - nice service
Needs more fish options
