We were celebrating our Son’s Birthday.. and it was a perfect evening.. the steaks were absolutely delicious.. wine was yummy and the service was great .. they were very sweet and helpful..
A lovely hidden gem close to Victoria station.
Food and drinks were delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or celebratory meal.
Great food, fabulous service but the tables were slightly too close together.
Good food (best grill in the area) and lovely spot. Shame about the attitude of certain front of the house staff.
Excellent service, excellent food with a fantastic range. We tried a variety of dishes which were all fantastic. I highly recommend the steak it is outstanding and amazing quality! Will definitely return.
Wonderful service and food!!!
Nice chilled venue. Excellent and attentive staff. Sunday Roast Chicken, juicy and tasty. Served barely warm though, sent it back to get it back the same temperature, minus the gravy. A pity really.
Good quality food and very well presented. Would definitely return to the restaurant again.
Best Sunday roast and grill in miles. Lovely outdoor sitting area.
The steaks were nice and good value and the outside seating was lovely.
The host was amazing and gave a choice of being able to dine either inside or out and held the table outside until my friend arrived and we could decide.
The service was okay. A little sporadic and we had eaten most of a main courses before our wine arrived and also the Burrata was really cold and stringy but the fried courgettes more than made up for that.
We sat outside and it was a lovely setting for a summer evening. Food and wine was delicious, although two of the "rare" steaks were served medium/well-done which is disappointing for a restaurant which prides themselves on their steak and is the reason for the lower rating on food. To their credit, once we alerted the wait staff, this was swiftly rectified and the fresh steaks were nicely cooked
The Jones Family Kitchen is a little off the beaten track but well worth the visit. The menu was interesting, with a whole range of dishes that appealed - especially to those of us wanting meat. Which is not to say that there was a shortage of green and vegetables: there was a moment when I was thinking of having three all-vegetable starters, they all sounded so delicious.
We had a range of greens and some great beets, with at least one of us choosing what turned out to be a fantastic steak. The wine list was a bit too long for a simple lunchtime meal, but we had a decent red and, for a restaurant in that part of town, it was reasonably priced.
It's the setting, with the community gardens and inner courtyard that set the JFK apart. Certainly one of those places that sticks in the memory.
Lovely spot and a great atmosphere with cocktails etc. Only thing was I thought the portions were a bit small for the money
Good food and service, decent choice on the menu at fairly reasonable prices for central London.
Meat, meat, meat! Oh my goodness the quality of the meat was incredible!! I loved this restaurant. The service was great, the ambience lovely and the food amazing!
Lovely decor and location, near Victoria. The early bird was perfect for a post work or pre-theatre treat. I'd definitely go back.
Very light, casual, and bubbly. Easy to just sit down and feel at ease. There's a lot of al fresco dining area, which can be fully utilized on a sunny day. The interior design is modern, sleek, quite minimalistic.
Very friendly, approachable service. Staff are engaged, have their opinions about the food they serve. Chirpy!
Food - Menu
Rib-eye Steak 350g £28.5 (April '19) - 350g Sirloin steak only - Cooked well to order, medium-rare in this case, but accordingly for the other orders. Noticeable flavour/scent of having been grilled. Meat was tender. Strong beef taste.
Beef Sunday Roast £18.5 (April '19) - Picana (rump) Sunday roast with trimmings (roast potato, carrots, parsnip, cabbage, yorkshire pudding, gravy) - A good amount of meat and trimmings. Beef served very tender and cooked to doneness (rare, in this case). Roast potatoes are not a crunchy kind. Parsnips on the slightly less cooked side, with a bit of a bite. Carrots, on the other hand, cooked to very soft. Yorkshire pudding has an interesting shape, not a cup shape, and is quite light in texture and flavour, but no buttery or rich flavour.
Chicken Sunday Roast £17.5 (April '19) - Half a roast chicken with same trimmings as beef Sunday roast - Meat cooked to very moist and tender. Skin not crispy/crunchy.
Sweet potato fries £4 (April '19) - Quite crunchy and sweet. Very soft and moist on the inside.
Malted cornflake ice cream £2 per scoop (April '19) - Strong malted flavour giving it a rich, milky flavour, with the cornflake bits not being soggy, keeping their bite and crunch.
Personal thoughts on experience - 8.5/10
Subjectively, I had a very good time, helped by what was a sunny, cloudless, warm with a slight breeze Easter Sunday. The weather and atmosphere of the al fresco set a very good tone for the lunch. Sitting outside was very nice, and the staff were all very friendly, chatty, liked to talk about the food on their menu.
Great location and service; food is just ok; burger was very dry and daughter couldn’t eat
Found this hidden gem whilst searching for restaurants to eat in pre-theatre for dinner. The pre-theatre menu is great and very good value for money. The decor is lovely and all staff were exceptionally friendly. It was very quiet in the restaurant so they had time to spare, but we got the feeling that they’re always that attentive! Cocktail list looked wonderful and what we had was very good - we’re just sad we didn’t have time to sample more. Overall the food and drinks were great, ambience relaxed but classy and staff exceptional. We’ll definitely return.
Imaginative menu, with good quality Ingredients, attentive staff and a great location.
Best steak in London, period. Tops two Hawksmoor I tried and Goodman Mayfair and Popeseye and the four branches of steak co. Flat iron good but different end of market and different level. Will return
Had previously been to Shoreditch was perfect in every way despite being a really busy Thursday night... this was a relatively quiet Saturday night but one of our sides took a really long time to arrive, long after the mains were served and we were told we wouldn't be charged. Yet we still were which was disappointing and we just didn't have the energy to argue about it.
Otherwise the food was good, steaks cooked perfectly. Was quite disappointed with my fries which were a bit soggy. Hopefully they'll do better next time although I would be inclined to go back to Shoreditch instead even though the one in Victoria is more convenient for us.
Fantastic restaurant. Really good value for money. Been several times and will definitely be back again.
Food was good and decent value but kitchen took way to long with order and it wasn’t that busy
Excellent food (meat roasts specially succulent), very friendly and knowledgeable service, and lovely atmosphere. The quiet (in pedestrian courtyard) sunny terrace for aperitifs or meals outside is another big plus.
Personal, attentive and efficient service. Perfect with light good for pre theatre
Have discussed our evening with the management. Hopefully our poor experience was a one- off.
Very good choice of restaurant for pre-theatre supper. Fantastic service and food superb. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
What a wonderful, hidden gem. I really enjoyed this restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and attentive without being overly so. There was a really nice vibe. The set lunch menu was excellent value. My bavette was delicious. I will certainly return when I can and really recommend a visit to this fine establishment.
Pre-theater family meal - excellent food and service was outstanding. In fact, one of the employees walked my mother, wife and daughters from the restaurant to the theatre hosting Wicked. Tremendous experience!
Perfect pre-theatre meal. Great food, service and value!
It was my second time to dine here and again, the food and wine was great.
bland, unseasoned roast dinner. Very small portion for the price. Friendly staff and pretty decor of the place were only nice things about the experience.
The perfect venue for a night out with friends or lunch with the family. The food is always incredible, and the fresh produce is very evident in how mouthwatering each dish is. I’ve had the various cuts of steak, fish and veggies and they have all always been excellent. In addition to the above, the staff are also exceptional. So friendly and welcoming, regardless of whether we have come with two young children or a group of adults. The ambiance is perfect as well, and sets the tone for a memorable experience every time. Needless to say, we will keep coming back!
Cute place - service was a little slow and not very well versed. Food was decent, wines were very average.
Really lovely setting, fantastic service and amazing food. Loved it and will definitely be returning.
A pré-theatre meal at The Jones Family Kitchen was excellent. Very warm welcome, great service and great food at a very good price. Lovely ambience.
I took my girlfriend here as part of her birthday celebration as a bit of fun given that her surname is Jones, too. Turns out, I'd have no hesitation in recommending The Jones Family Kitchen to anybody and we will definitely be back again! The food (and drink) was incredible, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. The whole experience there was a real treat.
Mains did not arrive for 1 hour after ordering them !
