The Kilcot Inn
Recently, the Inn had fallen into disrepair and had become derelict. It was bought by a local businesswoman, Mrs. Thomas.
It was slowly refurbished to an excellent standard by the whole Thomas family, including Mr. Thomas, a builder, and her son, who worked on the site for the whole project.
The Kilcot Inn is now proud to offer award winning food and 4* Gold rated rooms- and are thrilled to be the next chapter in the history of The Kilcot Inn.

Very fresh and well cooked food. We had Sunday roast. Beef and pork. Both very good and veg cooked perfectly. I like that the gravy was served in a jug and not poured over the meal prior to serving. Only one fault that they only had one Yorkshire pudding left. Agreed to share!
Cold Sunday lunch even though it was only 12:30. The nealy was changed but the Yorkshire puddings then failed to come with the replacement meal which was ok, not piping hot and nothing special for the money.
Starter of calamari & prawns tasted shop bought/frozen
Duck was very fatty and chewy, orange sauce missing orange flavour.
Supreme of chicken - asked for plain cream sauce without mushrooms and was advised this was not possible but I could have Ketchup. Veg was quite hard.
Was last night of our holiday and we’re left unsatisfied and wishing we had returned to the Kings Arms
Care taken with preparation and presentation, staff friendly and helpful (we were late because of traffic and then in a hurry)
Overall good little pub with nice food. Will look to visit again in the future.
Menu is varied weekly with enough variety to please everyone. Tasty seasonal vegetables accompany the main meal . The food was all cooked perfectly. Our compliments to the chef and we will be back!
Amazing food! Loved every minute of it. Staff very efficient and attentive. Really great atmosphere. I had quiche which was delicious and puddings all look incredible.
Long detour on route was big problem but worh it. Good Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all.
Lovely meal at The Kilcot. Quite busy with young families, therefore quite noisy & background music too. Overall an enjoyable evening with polite waiting staff.
Sure good and great service.
Had a lovely Sunday dinner at the kilcot and they allowed our dog in the bar, excellent food great atmosphere and great service by the staff.
Will definitely be going back…
Lovely evening, attentive server and great food
Good menu and great service. All in all a great evening thank you
The staff were very rude.
Lovely staff, delicious food with generous portions particularly with the veg(often small portions with a roast at some other pubs been charged £5 before now for a dish of extra broc and cauliflower ) and the addition of mash with the roast potatoes went down a treat.
We went for lunch on a rainy Saturday and had one of the outside tables. Staff were really welcoming and helpful. This was a rare and special family get together and we were disappointed that the lunchtime menu had changed to light lunches and a few starters, as we have eaten outstanding Sunday lunches and evening meals here for years ( but before covid). The menu was reasonably varied, but not exciting and the sort of things you can get out of the freezer and cook quickly. My daughter had a mixed veg quiche with salad, which she said was lovely. My son in law had the burger with chips, which he said was better than expected ( he had been hoping for steak). My husband and I had sandwiches, me ham and tomato and he cheese and tomato. These were sliced bread with cheddar or packet ham and very unremarkable. There was a small handful of salad and a bowl of coleslaw with them.
To be fair, I understand that there is only one chef who is under a lot of stress, hence the reduced menu. And we did choose to be outside on a windy, wet day, so there was no ambiance! But the meal was disappointing, especially as it was a once in six month treat. I don't think we will be returning
Good food, great service, nice relaxed vibe.
We had a wonderful evening for our anniversary. It was our first time at the kilcot inn..
the only thing we can think of that would of made our visit that much better would be cushions for the window seating area where we were. As it was very uncomfortable so much so my husband got a blanket out of the car for me to sit on.
That being said we can’t wait to come back as the food, service and staff were amazing!!
A great selection of delicious food and very pleasant waiting staff.
This was our first time at the Kilcot Inn and we weren't disappointed. We thought we would be the only diners but were pleasantly surprised , especially as it was a Monday lunchtime. We particularly enjoy our Starters ( Stuffed Courgettes and Chicken Liver Pate) and also enjoyed our Main Courses (although we felt that the Ploughman's Platter needed a little extra salad [cherry tomatoes and pickled onions?] so felt the Ploughman's was not as good value for money. The service was unhurried but very pleasant staff.
We will return again.
We had a lovely meal here and received warm welcome. The service was great.
We dropped in whilst camping nearby. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food delicious and the staff were really friendly and accommodating of our young children. We'd go again!
Great food, great beer, great service. Need I say more
Sea bream was delicious with crispy skin. Smoked salmon and prawn salad very tasty. Young staff, some still training but very amiable, Hooe they are being paid enough
2nd time we’ve been and didn’t disappoint. Friendly welcoming staff. Good service and excellent food. Very good value. Will be dining there again in the not to distant future .
Perfect meal. The food was delicious and served at a lovely relaxed pace giving us time to enjoy the evening. I couldn’t fault anything.
Good choices on menu for food and drinks. Very friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere.
Another excellent meal at The Kilcot.
After an evening of walking in the Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat, we decided to stop by for supper on our way home.
We were warmly welcomed on arrival and offered the choice of sitting inside or out. We opted to sit outside to make the most of the current weather and were given a lovely ‘tiki’ table under a thatched roof, which was ideal.
The service was exemplary, as always. Shortly after we were seated and given menus our drinks orders were taken. Our drinks arrived swiftly and our food order was taken. It was super quick to arrive and absolutely delicious, as it is each time we visit.
We were thoroughly impressed with the food, service and atmosphere.
It’s the ideal venue whatever the occasion. We look forward and will be sure to visit once again soon.
Did not like sticky tables . Suggest you change cleaning fluid. Realise you are short staffed - hence slow service and I thought the fish was overcooked and dry. Pleasant staff and very convenient on Freedom Day!
Overall very good. Only a minor point - We were sat outside and the kitchen extractor fan is quite noisy.
Lovely roast beef lunch a good variety of fresh veg and tender meat.
Not my first visit and definitely not the last. Good menu and good selection.
Had Sunday lunch ( roast beef) at the Kilcot Inn and our food was delicious! Food was hot and the service was very accommodating ( I haven’t got a big appetite so I asked if I could have a children’s roast and that was allowed).
Overall if we were in the area we would definitely return to the Kilcot Inn.
Quiet Tuesday in bright evening sunshine. Staff attentive but cider advertised on umbrella at door was not on tap! Food prompt, well-made and tasty. From just six miles away, we'll be back!
First Sunday lunch at the Kilcot Inn and we can honestly say we throughly enjoyed it!
Husband had the roast beef, whilst I had the lamb. Both cooked really well. Along with the tasty veg and homemade Yorkshire puddings!
So filling but we could refuse a pudding, chocolate brownie all the way, delish.
Service was quick and fab, we will be returning for sure. Highly recommend 🤩
Excellent food friendly staff good choice of beers and wines.
Excellent food, really helpful staff, lovely location. Will definitely go back again. Would recommend.
Food was good and service ok but a little slow which could be forgiven as quite busy. Didn’t like the too loud music. Burgers v tasty. Simple food but well presented.
Excellent food, staff were lovely, so pleased with everything that my wife and I booked dinner for the next day. Took our 3½ month old Cocker Spaniel with us and even he was well looked after!
We really enjoyed our night at The Kilcott. I had fillet steak which was amazing! The music was good and just the right volume, the staff were friendly. Just not much choice of deserts but overall very good. We'd definitely come here again.
