The Kilcot Inn
Recently, the Inn had fallen into disrepair and had become derelict. It was bought by a local businesswoman, Mrs. Thomas.
It was slowly refurbished to an excellent standard by the whole Thomas family, including Mr. Thomas, a builder, and her son, who worked on the site for the whole project.
The Kilcot Inn is now proud to offer award winning food and 4* Gold rated rooms- and are thrilled to be the next chapter in the history of The Kilcot Inn.

The service was so friendly, professional and quick. The food was incredible. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic food - what more is there to say! Staff were also very welcoming and our dog loved his special treat. Hardest part was deciding what to order.
The food was delicious. I had duck and my partner had steak. Cooked beautifully. The service was great, they asked if everything ok and if you needed time between courses. The overall service was excellent. I have put in in cottage review book as a must visit for great food. Will return when next in area
Great atmosphere, great staff, will definitely be back
Not liking the fixed price menu. If you want just fish & chips you have to pay two course price: £20.95!
Amazing food and great service! Such a lovely atmosphere and the food was out of this world!
Beautiful food with outstanding service, will most certainly be back!
Our second visit to The Kilcot Inn within a week. We selected from the summer menu on our first visit and winter menu on our second. Both meals were freshly made from local produce and were excellent value for money. Having just moved into the area, we will be returning on a regular basis.
My venison was outstanding - best restaurant meal I have had for a long time. My wife's duck was also delicious, but slightly overdone to her taste, hence not quite outstanding. The dining room ambience is delightful and the staff a joy.
Would not hesitate to recommend, and will eat there again very soon.
Delicious meal with fantastic service but apoesr to have been slightly over charged.
The menu offered a good choice of meals with the addition of a specials board. The food was excellent. The waitress was efficient and friendly.
The Kilcullin was a meeting place for friends we were spending a week with, we like the look of the menu and decided to eat there. Or four of us thought the menu was expensive and fair priced. The food was absolutely lovely, so much so that we returned again for an evening meal. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
We had a very comfortable night at the Kilcot. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and efficient.
The evening meal was excellent with a good choice on the menu.
We will be returning very soon
We booked this pub as it had been recommended to us. Sadly it failed to live up to expectations.
Soggy chips (these were replaced but were still soggy so I gave up and didn't eat them). Three of us had the steak but they were all tough and sinewy. The chef had put lumps of bacon in the blue cheese sauce and the mushroom sauce was bland. We mentioned all this to our waitress, who I will say was fantastic, and she said she would pass on our comments. We expected a manager to come over and apologise but no one did.
It was only when we went to pay and noted there was no reduction that we queried why no one had apologised or explained the issues. The Manager then came over to say the chef was new and that there were communication problems as English was not his first language and that there had been other complaints about the food. I was embarrassed that we had to ask for a reduction on the bill and feel this should have been offered.
The chips were replaced at the start of the meal by myself and there were no further complaints until you had all finished off your meals. A check back 5 minutes into the meal is made to all customers so that any concerns can be raised early on. Pancetta being added to the sauce and not noted on the menu was explained to you as a communication issue. I told you another customer had just made me aware of it before you had. I did not say there were other complaints about the food. Thankyou.
Great location, great food, fast and friendly staff.
Very fresh and well cooked food. We had Sunday roast. Beef and pork. Both very good and veg cooked perfectly. I like that the gravy was served in a jug and not poured over the meal prior to serving. Only one fault that they only had one Yorkshire pudding left. Agreed to share!
Cold Sunday lunch even though it was only 12:30. The nealy was changed but the Yorkshire puddings then failed to come with the replacement meal which was ok, not piping hot and nothing special for the money.
Starter of calamari & prawns tasted shop bought/frozen
Duck was very fatty and chewy, orange sauce missing orange flavour.
Supreme of chicken - asked for plain cream sauce without mushrooms and was advised this was not possible but I could have Ketchup. Veg was quite hard.
Was last night of our holiday and we’re left unsatisfied and wishing we had returned to the Kings Arms
Care taken with preparation and presentation, staff friendly and helpful (we were late because of traffic and then in a hurry)
Overall good little pub with nice food. Will look to visit again in the future.
Menu is varied weekly with enough variety to please everyone. Tasty seasonal vegetables accompany the main meal . The food was all cooked perfectly. Our compliments to the chef and we will be back!
Amazing food! Loved every minute of it. Staff very efficient and attentive. Really great atmosphere. I had quiche which was delicious and puddings all look incredible.
Long detour on route was big problem but worh it. Good Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all.
Lovely meal at The Kilcot. Quite busy with young families, therefore quite noisy & background music too. Overall an enjoyable evening with polite waiting staff.
Sure good and great service.
Had a lovely Sunday dinner at the kilcot and they allowed our dog in the bar, excellent food great atmosphere and great service by the staff.
Will definitely be going back…
Lovely evening, attentive server and great food
Good menu and great service. All in all a great evening thank you
The staff were very rude.
Lovely staff, delicious food with generous portions particularly with the veg(often small portions with a roast at some other pubs been charged £5 before now for a dish of extra broc and cauliflower ) and the addition of mash with the roast potatoes went down a treat.
We went for lunch on a rainy Saturday and had one of the outside tables. Staff were really welcoming and helpful. This was a rare and special family get together and we were disappointed that the lunchtime menu had changed to light lunches and a few starters, as we have eaten outstanding Sunday lunches and evening meals here for years ( but before covid). The menu was reasonably varied, but not exciting and the sort of things you can get out of the freezer and cook quickly. My daughter had a mixed veg quiche with salad, which she said was lovely. My son in law had the burger with chips, which he said was better than expected ( he had been hoping for steak). My husband and I had sandwiches, me ham and tomato and he cheese and tomato. These were sliced bread with cheddar or packet ham and very unremarkable. There was a small handful of salad and a bowl of coleslaw with them.
To be fair, I understand that there is only one chef who is under a lot of stress, hence the reduced menu. And we did choose to be outside on a windy, wet day, so there was no ambiance! But the meal was disappointing, especially as it was a once in six month treat. I don't think we will be returning
Good food, great service, nice relaxed vibe.
We had a wonderful evening for our anniversary. It was our first time at the kilcot inn..
the only thing we can think of that would of made our visit that much better would be cushions for the window seating area where we were. As it was very uncomfortable so much so my husband got a blanket out of the car for me to sit on.
That being said we can’t wait to come back as the food, service and staff were amazing!!
A great selection of delicious food and very pleasant waiting staff.
This was our first time at the Kilcot Inn and we weren't disappointed. We thought we would be the only diners but were pleasantly surprised , especially as it was a Monday lunchtime. We particularly enjoy our Starters ( Stuffed Courgettes and Chicken Liver Pate) and also enjoyed our Main Courses (although we felt that the Ploughman's Platter needed a little extra salad [cherry tomatoes and pickled onions?] so felt the Ploughman's was not as good value for money. The service was unhurried but very pleasant staff.
We will return again.
We had a lovely meal here and received warm welcome. The service was great.
We dropped in whilst camping nearby. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food delicious and the staff were really friendly and accommodating of our young children. We'd go again!
Great food, great beer, great service. Need I say more
Sea bream was delicious with crispy skin. Smoked salmon and prawn salad very tasty. Young staff, some still training but very amiable, Hooe they are being paid enough
2nd time we’ve been and didn’t disappoint. Friendly welcoming staff. Good service and excellent food. Very good value. Will be dining there again in the not to distant future .
