The Kings Head Letheringsett
Excellent visit. The staff very helpful to show us to a table when we arrived a little early.
A very nice Sunday lunch once again. One member had the Hake which was also good. Staff and service friendly and good as usual.
Excellent Sunday roast, would highly recommend. Constantly busy all day, which to me shows it is a good one!
For what it is worth I will try to give you a balanced view. We have eaten at several Anglia inns and very much enjoyed the White horse at Brancaster and Fox at Willian for example. The food at the Kings Head was poor in comparison eg vegetables cold for 2 of our 4 and my burger was dry and over cooked. Nobody wants the food to be returned and delay the meal. The fish pie was good and fish and chips also.
Will give it a miss from now on...there is so much good competition locally!
A last minute decision booked online. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food well cooked and presented. We’ll come again.
Been several times, always enjoyable. Will definitely go back!
Nice place, excellent food, friendly & helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.
One of the best steaks I have ever eaten anywhere. Everyone else enjoyed their food, mussels and venison burgers.
I have stayed at this hotel once and dined here on many occasions and I love it here. The hotel is in a lovely setting near a water mill and there are views across the field to a herd of cows. It is very tastefully decorated, the food is always delicious and the waitresses are very friendly and helpful.
Very close to the Georgian town of Holt which is great for shopping.
Lovely bar area for pre-dinner drinks. Tables not on top of each other so even when it's busy it will feel like you have your own space. Great menu with lots of local and seasonal options. Very well priced wine list. Service was super too. Jess, the manager looked after us and was brilliant. Nothing to fault, lots to praise.
We were presented with starter we had not ordered. Incorrect drinks delivered. Very poor selection of gluten and nut free meals. Left without eating!
First time visit as we are staying in Leatheringsett instead of Blakeney this week, everything was EXCELLENT, food was delicious and the service and staff were outstanding.
We were made to feel very welcome and can’t wait to go back today for our Sunday lunch!
This is a nice pub with friendly, helpful staff and a nice ambience. The food is good, but not as good as at it's sister pub, The White Horse, which is always a slight disappointment.
We had a really enjoyable evening at the Kings Head and will be coming back one minor criticism we had a goats cheese and beetroot main which didn’t have the right balance of the main ingredients too much beetroot and not enough cheese easily fixable just attention to detail was missing
Welcoming staff , dog freindly, good choice of food and real ales.
Service staff good and knew menu and quick. Atmosphere spoilt by somebody listening to loud video on his phone. Probably needed a member of staff to identify this issue and suggest reducing the sound on the phone.
Never got the glasses of tap water we ordered. Also one drink glass had a lot of lipstick around rim at top.
Food tasty and menu choice very good
Food was incredible, steak cooked to perfection. Only very minor issue was the fact that a long time passed between getting drinks and being asked for food order however only a very minor issue
Excellent Sunday roast. Service a little slow but very busy so understandable. All staff very cheerful and helpful despite busy bank hol weekend for them.
We came for a meal last year which was lovely, however this year the food was mediocre. The good thing about the Kings is the play area and beer garden.
Wonderful place wonderful food wonderful staff . In a super setting close to Holt our favourite Norfolk town.
We appreciate it was a Saturday night on a Bank Holiday weekend but the friendliness and general service was somewhat lacking. We checked in for our table early as we wanted to have a drink beforehand, the young lady checked our booking and then said the bar staff would sort our drinks. We waited a while and suddenly one staff member (slightly older man and seemed in charge) said 'can I help you', with a very curt manner. We explained we were waiting to order drinks and he said 'go to your table and someone will sort' we explained we wanted to have a drink in the garden and this seemed to throw him completely, just very unfriendly and made us feel like a nuisance - not a great start! The waitress who served us seemed to have the same attitude, very curt, hardly smiling, no greeting when she asked if we were ready to order, it felt a bit like a conveyor belt! In fairness she was very effcient reagrding a food allergy I have and came to confirm the ingredients being used. A lady was working all the tables, clearing plates, getting more drinks etc. and she was friendly. All in all a very poor experience and given we have eaten at both the White Horse and The Fox (their sister pubs) where we had thoroughly enjoyable service and food, this was sadly lacking. We have a house in nearby Saxlingham and had great expectations for the Kings Head as it is more or less a 'local' sadly we will not be going back or recommending to friends.
The menu shown here on Open Table is not that currently available at this establishment
Our dishes were overcooked and burnt
Very very ordinary pub food and even then not well cooked. pork belly special dish was burnt and overcooked and devoid of flavour
Nice place to eat. Food was great. Large party in with young children running around ,so very noisy, we where warned on arrival. I would defiantly use again as so close to home and hood food
Thank you for the lovely review and we look forward to seeing you again soon Karen
To start with our table had been given to somebody else despite us arriving on time.
We were then told that we would be sitting at a table in the bar but no attempt was made to lest the table and we were treated as though we were having a bar meal.
The food was lovely but organisation and customer service was very poor.
Will not be returning.
A special occasion ruined.
Food was very God and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the experience was let down by shortage of serving staff on a busy summer evening
Lovely place for lunch, staff were attentive but only when needed. Food was delicious. Price reflects its North Norfolk location ie (Chelsea on Sea) 😂
Excellent food. Relaxed atmosphere and a lovely garden.
For some reason the front of house, menu and quality of food was not what we’d experienced before.
No mention of specials when sat down, no explanation of strange menu layout and the soup starter was the worst dish I’ve ever been served anywhere in the world.
At least this was taken off our bill. The rest of the food was better but nothing brilliant.
Perfectly nice sea bass - very disappointing puddings - overall nothing out of the ordinary.
Lovely old building which has been well converted to provide a comfortable dining experience. We were kept waiting for quite a while while the manager chatted to someone at the bar and the other barman left the bar and passed us without acknowledging our presence. Finally we were greeted with “Are you guys alright there?” I avoided the obvious answer of “Yes, we enjoy standing around being ignored “ The service from out waitress was good and the food arrived quickly. Dogs are welcome, but we didn’t appreciate being at a table between two lots of dogs, one of which was off the lead and kept wandering to our table. The food was pretty average and we skipped dessert as we felt hemmed in by dogs. I should add that we love dogs, but had chosen to leave our two at home.
Great meal out on Saturday evening with 3 friends - the service was exceptional and the food excellent. Its not cheap but the cost is worth it - great value for money all in!
Excellent place to have some food. Great staff and surroundings. Would definitely recommend.
Great location, beautiful building, interior rustic country dining. Top little spot for lunch or dining. Outdoor space is also ideal and kept well
A friendly establishment, with good car parking, close to the main road. The restaurant is quite open and the table are not too close together.
The menu is quite comprehensive, but unfortunately the duck was not available on the night that we went, but the steak made a more than satisfactory substitute.
The service was good, and the serving staff were friendly and knowledgeable. A very pleasant experience all round.
Overall, a very pleasant experience, lovely food, decent value and attentive staff. The joy downside is that the toilets are not up to the standard of the eat of the establishment.
Lovely village pub with seats outside if required. Menu is an above average pub menu, with reasonable choice. Good though nor spectacular. Moderately priced. Would return.
Very charming place, polite and helpful staff and made a fuss of our Yorkie. Food was enjoyable too
My wife's food was very poor we complained and was not charged for her meal.
Not having visited for a few years I was disappointed to see that the Kings Head had gone downhill.
Although our waitress was pleasant and efficient, the scruffy looking staff (yawning teens in dirty trainers) are far from a good advert.
The starters were decent enough, but the mains were poor. I like al dente, but not raw. I do expect my vegetables to be trimmed.
Sorry Kings Head, but locally you have become the poor relative.
We came here last year and really enjoyed it so came back and we weren’t disappointed. Everything we had was lovely and an interesting wine list and bar choices. The menu is short but we have found something on each occasion.
Service is good and a nice quiet environment where you can actually talk to your friends.
