The Kings Head Letheringsett
I would recommend this as a place to stay, but less so to eat. The food is OK but not more, which is a little disappointing given that it is not exactly inexpensive and we were there on a quiet night. A previous experience we had there was similar. On this occasion we had a particular requirement to eat there. If I didn't, I don't think I would hurry back.
Lovely quality food, service and ambiance. Venue good for special occasion or less formal. Sea Bass to be recommended.
Will definitely go back again would certainly recommend friends family to go
Our second visit...excellent food quality midst great atmosphere. Shame it is not nearer to us in Suffolk. Great staff obviously enjoying working there. Will be Brackley when next in Norfolk.....Sally & Eddie Ayres
Really great restaurant. Each staff member was friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and reasonably priced and the atmosphere was nice too.
Meal before a show, very good quality and looked after well
Very nice food and service
We tried lunch a few weeks ago which was very nice so we decided to try evening meal. I wasn’t that impressed with the menu’s small selection. Service was ok but not excellent, things were not ‘on’ the menu as described. The meals were verging on the small size, which is ok for fine dining, but this is not a fine dining pub. The prices were a little steep for the portion sizes and not particularly flavoursome, everything was just ok. But for the prices expected more, either more flavour or more portion size. The haddock tart for starters for example was mainly filo pastry and very very small portion of haddock inside. All in all don’t think will return but nothing that bad but not that good.
Excellent food, service and altogether a very enjoyable meal and evening.
Average quality pub grub, used to be so much better. Visiting early on a weekday evening they had almost run out of specials, run out of fish, run out of sorbet. Menus tatty. Pleasant service but slow. Not what it used to be.
We really appreciated the chance to book online and that you asked us to confirm our booking. Staff were very welcoming and were attentive and efficient throughout. Food was tasty and nicely presented and we enjoyed our evening.
Excellent service and food was pure class.
Great birthday lunch, nice meals in lovely setting. Efficient service for a couple and dog.
On a very busy Mothering Sunday the staff were still cheerful and helpful. The roasts were all excellent but we did experience one of the deserts a sticky toffee pudding a bit dry and hard on top. We love the buzz of the place and regularly eat when family members/ friends come to the area. Recommend .
Lovely setting. Friendly staff. Good food and a fine selection of gin !
Loads of parking too.
Good food and service, lovely atmosphere!
Very enjoyable. Pleasant staff . Food excellent. Would highly recommend it.
Friendly helpful staff. Great food and service. Thank you very much. Will visit again.
Great waitress good service. Food very good
4th visit this year and as good as ever ,top food and excellent service the crab and salmon cakes were delicious
Would most certainly recommend. My friends and myself ate breakfast on two mornings of our stay in Letheringsett. But most impressively, we had booked a meal on Saturday evening which sadly, because one of our group had sustained an accident, we couldn’t get to. So the Staff at the King’s Head, plated and foiled our meals and allowed us to pick them up and take them back to our holiday let to eat.
The food was beautifully served, hot and delicious. We will definitely be returning.
We loved our visit to The Kings Head in Letheringsett. The atmosphere and decor, both charming and the food was amazing. Our only request would be for a larger choice on the menu as there were only four main courses to choose from. Thankfully, we all made amazing choices and were very happy with the food.
Lovely meal on Saturday evening - great dishes with lots of flavour. I particularly enjoyed the curried cauliflower risotto - different and very flavoursome! We've moved in locally, so will certainly return!
Another fine meal at the kings head , bread and butter pudding to kill for
Another fabulous Sunday lunch - a perfect place to celebrate with family for a birthday lunch. Thank you!
This was our second visit in two years and the food and service did not disappoint. The mussels as a starter was enormous and delicious. The main course of pork rib eye was lovely too. The waitresses that served us were all friendly and smiling.
My only disappointment was that after a lot of deliberation, I chose the wrong dessert - white chocolate and baileys creme brûlée with a cinnamon biscuit. I couldn’t taste any baileys although the top of the brûlée was very well crisped.
All in all, a lovely evening and we will definitely return again when visiting the area.
Opted for fish and chips. The fish (not sure what it was and not convinced it was cod or haddock) was over cooked & hand cut chips were quite hard. I like chips soft & fluffy but that’s my personal preference! Didn’t complain as was with a small child who was already out past her bedtime so just wanted to eat & get home. Apple crumble was ok but nothing special. Drinks very pricey. Won’t be returning.
Lovely venue & atmosphere but negatives outweigh positives.
Food was good quality and very good value for money. The service was excellent; our waitress was fabulous. The setting is a lovely old pub
Overall very good. Food was excellent.
Just a few noisy children !
Great meal for the six of us, really nice waitress who when to great trouble to make sure every thing was okay and we were happy. Thank you the Baker family.
Delicious food in a relaxing setting.
The food and service are always excellent
Warm, welcoming, dog friendly. Staff engaging and pleasant, food excellent, a great place to have a leisurely Sunday lunch.
The food at The Kings Head is always excellent and the service is also never lacking. We we surprised to see the restaurant as quiet as it was though. With such great food and service, would have expected it to be busier. The feel if the place suffered slightly due to this. It lacked us usual energy. Certainly wouldn't stop us visiting again though.
Second visit this month. Food still great and service really good with cheerful and helpful waiting staff
Excellent food and service. Fantastic local gin and tonics
Great food, lovely atmosphere, staff always friendly and cheerful a regular place for us and would always recommend
Excellent service and food as usual ideal for a cosy winters evening
Dog friendly restaurant with excellent atmosphere and a good choice of food
