The Kings Wark
Saturday & Sunday: Brunch (10am-12 pm)
Monday-Sunday :Spring Menu (12pm-9pm)
Lovely place to eat in a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff attentive but not intrusive.
Oct 2019 went for Sunday lunch while traveling in Scotland
Best fish & chips ever!
Rustic but charming Warm & welcoming staff
Quality pub with a beautiful interior, right on the river Lieth. Stopped in here for a meal before the Military Tatoo. Candle lit, nice food and good service. Make sure you book prior. A great little Edinburgh experience
We have eaten in the Kings Wark numerous times and are never disappointed.
Thoroughly enjoyed first visit, will be back.
Everything was ideal, food excellent, staff attentive but not intrusive.
Neat place outside of Edinburgh
Food was outstanding but service was very slow. Atmosphere was wrecked by a child behind us watching videos on her phone and the tinny transatlantic audio. Prices were steep for a Sunday pub lunch.
Came over from Carrickfergus... absolutely faultless dinner, service and ambience...1st class...thank you!!
Awesome fantastic chilled inviting relaxed cosy. Perfect
Very nice seafood with very generous portions.
Catch up night with an old friend -great food, nice atmosphere all in all great night out
Been coming here for years but both service and food quality have deteriorated significantly and we were overcharged by around £20 which we didn’t realise until the next day. Didn’t chase as sure we would not have received a refund.
Won’t be returning. What a shame.
We did not get the Christmas fayre that we ordered online. It was disappointing since I was taking my wife for her 73 birthday. I said that I booked the meal online but they would not let us have it. I even printed out the menu before going.
I have to start by saying how lovely the staff are here and particularly because I had an energetic 3-year-old exploring. However, the food although not bad at all just wasn't what I was expecting from the King's Wark. Rather lackluster burgers & the portions for the children were overly generous. My youngest just couldn't cope and ended up not eating very much at all. The fish was definitely enjoyed but the ice-cream - again, nothing to write home about.
Having said all this they might have just been having a bad day so I would return - if only to be able to update this review (hopefully) to 5 stars!
It is basically pub grub but the prices have crept up. We were £200 for drink, starter and fish & chips for 4 people. Nice but not worth the price.
Wonderful romantic meal for 2 in the corner table near the open fireplace. Excellent service very attentive, appearing when needed. Food was wonderful i had the lamb special and my wife had sea bass. Will definitely be back thanks again to all the staff.
The staff was very friendly and we felt very welcome. The food also was very good, nicely displayed and for us the portions were a bit more than enough ☺️ ... all in all highly recommended.
The food was excellent and the staff gave us the space and time we needed for our catch up. There was no rush.
Lovely Sunday morning breakfast in front of the fire.
We visited from Canada for our wedding anniversary.
The staff was so nice and welcoming. The food was nice, fresh and generous.
We had a wonderful and lovely time !
