We are just minutes from M40 junctions 10 or 11, near Banbury.
We only select, prepare and serve you the absolute best food and drink we can source; mainly from local food heroes; some from our own Kitchen Garden.
Everything is freshly prepared here, in our Kitchens, by our team of amazing chefs.
We look forward to welcoming you soon
Great food. Had the prawn & fish curry 2 nights running it was so good.
Excellent food, lovely place and ambience. Very reasonable price. Service was a little slow at times but overall well worth it. Would go again
Delicious lunch in a lovely pub. Very friendly service. Service seemed a little slow with bringing our food out but this may have been because we were so hungry! Highly recommend.
Great food, great service. Good value for money considering the quality of the food, definitely recommend.
I seldom write reviews and having spent 20 years in the restaurant biz I am always sympathetic in my approach. My wife and I (a professional chef) had a great experience here which far exceeded our expectations. Great service and very good food - well thought out dishes delicious and hot - hate luke warm food - and good value.
Well done guys good job!
Charming staff, very good food, very comfortable space. We left feeling well fed and well looked after.
Love the food every time we've been and the music tonight was very good . Happily recommend to everyone we know
Lamb was lush, great sauce, nice and relaxed.
Will deffo visit again.
Excellent service from all staff , food excellent apart from ice cream portion which there was only enough to eat in one mouthful . Lovely place already recommended to friends . We will definitely be returning .
This was my second visit to the Kitchen. The first time I went for lunch with friends and we all enjoyed it very much. I had a cod dish (with turmeric, potatoes and asparagus - I can't remember exactly) and it was delicious. I went back on Saturday night with my partner and was quite disappointed. I had a fish curry - which had lots of fish in it - but was a bit rich and didn't have enough vegetables with it. He had a really quite expensive ok burger (£16). They were running an early evening offer which we missed (!) but it meant that the place was quite busy and noisy and the acoustics meant that it was difficult for my partner to hear me across the table! Service was good but overall we were disappointed this time. :(
PS The UBU beer was excellent!
Great food and choice of wine in a relaxing atmosphere, great garden too
Food was perfectly alright. Service was friendly but rather vague and lacking focus. Car park well signed, actual restaurant then hard to find. Blameless but unremarkable
Lovely little place and excellent food. We had a great time!
Food expensive for what we received. Lack of service once meal was finished. Nobody came to see if coffee/liquors were required
Food is excellent staff are friendly and look after you without being over the top friendly . Myself and my partner love every dish we've eaten highly recommend a visit
Really great food in a lovely environment. The menu is not huge but there are always several things you want! They're great with kids too.
We've have been meaning to eat here for ages, finally managed it over the Bank Holiday.
Booking was easy( but no confirmation email), so phoned them up - very helpful, all ok.
Arrived early, but let us have the table straight away, got some drinks - bliss.
Very relaxed and relaxing atmosphere, staff were young and extremely nice and friendly.
Menu was compact and interesting, spoilt for choice.
Starters were superb, spring Ham Hock salad and Cheesy Balls (already a favourite) - mains better still, my partner had Slow roasted Spring lamb, I had a Guinea Fowl pie - magnificent!!
Highly recommended, off the beaten track and better for it.
Great for two - we're bringing friends next time....
Excellent food.. highly recommended
Will definitely visit again
Nice vegan options.
Staff were very lovely and friendly.
Very child friendly with high chair in place for us when we arrived.
as with all restaurants it would be very helpful to have a low carbohydrate high fat option or two on the Menu
Expensive for what it was and poor ambience
We had a lovely meal with our family. The roast was fantastic and the starters delicious.
First visit to the The Kitchen - which is located in a lovely little, picturesque village just outside Banbury. There is a car park, but parking is quite limited as The Kitchen is clearly a popular venue on Sunday's. The Pub is quaint with a nice atmosphere and the lunch tables are scattered around - rather than in a separate room. The food was well cooked and wine was good - had the service been better I would rate The Kitchen higher. We waited for about 15 minutes after we arrived before we called a waiter to take an order although we had been seen. We also had a long wait for the bill before we again had to summon the waiter. Having said that, the waiters were very nice - !
The KItchen menu is rather limited, but the food when it came was really well presented and exceptional in taste. We visited on a fairly quiet lunchtime.
Reviews can often vary with the choices made by diners. Two of our party were very satisfied whilst the choice of fish cakes chosen by two of us were less favourable. The fish cakes were well filled but dry and would have been improved by a generous sauce. The menu is quite limited so choice was difficult. The price is high for the product received and so not very good value for money. The sticky toffee pudding was particularly disappointing. Rubbery texture and rather rigid clotted cream served alongside did not improve things whereas a good butterscotch sauce might have helped.
Every time I eat at the Kitchen I come away resolving to go there more often. The food is superb, the service friendly and efficient, and it is always my reliable number 1 place to take visitors for lunch. I love it!
I would highly recommend The Kitchen. This was my second visit and on this occasion we were a large group of 9 people. The Kitchen staff made us feel extremely welcome and went out of their way to accommodate by allowing us to sit outside for our starters and drinks as it was a sunny day. We were not rushed at all. The waiters were very personable and great to chat to and the food was excellent. A lovely lunch and perfect for our requirements.
The service was really excellent. Food absolutely fine without being outstanding. Cost possibly a little high. Surprisingly very few people there on a Saturday night, but it was wet and there was a lot of rugby on the telly. Overall a good night but not an outstanding night.
Very friendly service and one of the best gourmet burgers I've ever had! Recommend the Beaute Du Sud Malbec too.
Took mum for lunch with my sister. We had a lovely quiet table in an alcove. The gentleman wh9 served us couldn’t have been more helpful, even sorting out a gluten free menu for my parents for mother’s day (which is also their anniversary).
Food was gorgeous; mum had the fish acmes, which were sal on, very tasty, and my sister and I had the smoked haddock! Fish was flakey, and the curry sauce full of flavour with a slight “kick” to it. We were not rushed at all. It was wonderful. We will definitely be going again. Fully recommend.
Excellent food, good pace of service, a little pricey but worth the quality food you receive. The pie is amazing!
The Sunday lunch (beef roast) was excellent! Lots of veg including a delicious parsnip puré. The beef was a perfect medium rare. Good wine and great service. Lovely location with great walks.
Were not quite sure where The Kitchen was - not obvious from the car parking area. However, it was a very pleasant experience with good service and food. Made to feel welcome and were given quiet table in the window. Will return when next in the area.
A little gem in a beautiful countryside I had the game pie and it was so tasty, tender and packed full of flavour highly recommend
They're doing great work in the kitchen but the front of house left a lot to be desired.
The staff left to manage the customers seemed to be very inexperienced and not particularly attentive.
The food was great but I'm not sure we'll be back
Consistently good. Fishcakes a firm favourite but husband really enjoyed the smoked haddock in curry sauce. And thanks too for making the hound so welcome! We'll be back soon.
Very quiet in the restaurant on a very early Saturday lunchtime. The food was excellent as was the service. The interior was very well done. I would thoroughly recommend making a B-line to The Kitchen for lunch, dinner or just coffee... They run a cafe during the morning.
There is a sign on the road which takes you to the carpark but could use a sign at the top for the pub itself as it looks like an old stone house.
Fire was lit but it was still really cold. The windows are really drafty (because its an old building). If you go wrap up warm as it was uncomfortable.
Great food, nice surroundings, friendly staff.....
Service was a little slow and staff needed prompting taking orders for both starter/main and again for dessert
The venue is simple, well appointed, comfortable and quite different to other local venues. It’s a lovely place to come.
The 4 of us greatly enjoyed the starters, which though small, were tasty (although £2 for the tiny piece of bread was steep!). As a suggestion you could offer the same starters but as a sharing platter for more than 1.
3/4 of us were disappointed with the main courses. Last time I came they were superb. This time much less so. The Rabbit pie was overly wet and creamy, with sloppy mash and few veg. I can’t remember the other order (not the Dahl) was described as OK, nothing special.
Sorry to raise this but I thought you should know and hope it’s useful.
