The location, staff and ambiance are all fantastic. The food is delicious but the menu for lunch is quite limited. Two of our group had fish and chips but the chips were actually potato wedges in huge chunks so should have been described as such on the menu

Lovely venue with lots of character. Food was excellent. Service was very slow.Waited nearly 25 minutes after ordering for food to arrive.Ordered a coffee which after 15 minutes hadn't arrived and had to ask the waitress again. Would still return again

I ordered the £15 chicken burger and although it looked nice the chicken was rubbery & the first meal I haven’t been able to finish at a restaurant in a long time. When a burger is costing that much you expect to get a fresh piece of chicken. However, other people in the party said their meal was nice but it has put me off going again!

Nice relaxed atmosphere with good food and a nice quirky look. Only issues we had where there was no table set for us even when booked. And the girl serving seemed a little robotic in her service. Would have been nice to just have her relax. But besides those two minor points all great

We love Restoration Yard, the setting, the food and the design. It would be nice if one could eat outside and be able to have the dogs with us as there is nowhere in the shade to leave the car on a hot day. The service at weekends can be a bit iffy as I suspect the staff are school girls with little training in people management. A smile or two and confidence would make a difference. Otherwise we love it and it’s ideally placed for meeting friends from all directions.

This is my favourite place to eat and shop. I’m a regular in the restaurant. Yesterday’s lunch was at its usual high standard, the place was a little noisy but as it was Saturday then this was to be expected.

Service was surprisingly average and not the standard I usually receive. Waitresses were pleasant enough but didn’t look very happy - I hadn’t seen them before so maybe they were new staff? I don’t think we got a smile yet. Shame really as standard is normally excellent.

Lunch visit for a 70th birthday celebration. Prosecco on ice as requested was waiting for us on arrival. The waitress wished my mum a happy birthday which was a nice gesture.
We have been here a few times before and like the setting and ambiance.
We were told shortly before placing our order that the beef casserole was not available. We placed our orders then waitress came back and said that the steak frites was also not available. This was disappointing as these were both menus choices made by our party. It is not a big menu at the Restoration yard so we were disappointed at the limited choices especially when celebrating a birthday. We had booked at 2pm on a Tuesday so were surprised by this.
Otherwise food was quite good and staff friendly. May be we just got unlucky this time.

Having been before and delighted with everything, was so disappointed in the standard of food on this occasion. Vegetarian choice limited and consisted of a plate full of noodles with very few veg. My quineoa dish was stodgy and soggy more like a risotto - struggled to finish it. Battered fish and chips excellent. Chose Restoration Cafe as quieter option to shop cafe - how wrong was that?? Would benefit from separating families from other diners (and I like kids!!) but so noisy we couldn't hear ourselves. Really disappointing. Staff very efficient.

Another lovely visit to Restoration Yard. Always been for coffee or breakfast or brunch & this was first lunch visit . Every bit as good, we both opted for the Buccleuch beef baguette with onions & salad which was delicious. Better to book if you can as depending on time of day it can be very busy.
Perfect place for a bite to eat and catch up with friends with the added bonus of beautiful grounds to wander around .

Lovely fresh food nicely presented and decent portions. Service was friendly and efficient despite a very busy restaurant. It could be noisy as it’s beside a children’s outdoor activity area so it’s very family friendly but that can mean it’s noisy for older clients. I would definitely recommend it

My third visit here , last time two years ago when it was dreadful. Had no intention of going back but friends wanted to. Pleased to say it was much improved. Better service, food choices and not quite so noisy. Our meal was very good, vegetable chilli stir fry , and very generous portions.

Lovely interior, but the cafe was very busy and noisy, making it difficult to have conversation over the table.

I picked the smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, which was nice, but the avocado had too much lime, which didn’t go well with the poached eggs. It was served in a shallow bowl, making it difficult to cut the toast. It would have been much better on a flat plate.

I would definitely return, but would try to pick a quieter time so it was a little more enjoyable.
