The Lady Ottoline
On the ground floor of the Dickensian style building, drinks are available from the dark wood bar and food from the banquette-lined tables, perfect for quick business lunches and home-comfort cosy dinners next to the open fire.
Upstairs, guests are treated to an elegant, more formal atmosphere in the dining room, ideal for romantic, candle-lit dinners and social suppers. Tucked away across the hall is a snug private dining room, The Morrell Room, which caters to special occasions, family get-togethers and intimate gatherings alike, seating up to 14 people round a large wooden table.
Open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday and serving roasts for Sunday lunch.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal in the dining room.
Delicious food and wine, great service and a generally lovely time all round. Would heartily recommend.
The lady Ottoline is a lovely pub, especially for a Sunday Roast! However, the roast beef was very fatty which was disappointing for the money it cost.
A great spot. Always ask about the pie of the day. They also make a *great* burger but be ready for a messy meal! The fish and chips are great too.
Food is good and staff is kind and professional. Very appreciated the complimentary ice cream to close the dinner.
The menu is well judged, interesting and reasonably priced. The food was delicious, and the setting is lovely. We had a very enjoyable evening. Thank you!
Waiter was friendly and professional. Food is great from starter to dessert
Quirky gastropub with charming staff and good food.
Beautiful old Bloomsbury pub, great food and friendly staff.
The food is always terrific and 'on trend' without being a slave to fashion. Nice room and, as always, attentive and friendly service. A short but well-chosen wine list.
Tasty food in a cosy ambiance.
Nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Good corner and pleasant interior and atmosphere, attentive service but not overly friendly, the food is hugely varied but nice
Delicious supper, once again, at the lovely Lady Ottoline.
Made a day of reservation on my last night in London, and I’m glad I did. The place was friendly, inviting and with a lot to offer in the way of food and drinks. The appetizer and dinner I had were wonderful! Also the place is understated but beautiful.
Good-to-excellent gastropub food, the Lady Ottoline is a surprising find in a quiet area of Bloomsbury
I had a very gay experience at The Lady Ottoline, highly recommended
Great food and ambiance. Only one vegan/veggie option on the menu, which is a no-no in London these days. I'd go back.
Great selection of beers, friendly staff, cosy dining room. Food very tasty, promptly served and great value.
Wonderful Sunday lunch menu as always, which clearly exemplifies attention to taste as well as presentation.
It was good service and cosy atmosphere but we didn't love the food. It was ok but in similar pubs you can get better food at same price.
A little gem of a pub - slightly off the beaten track, great food, beer and service!
A fantastic find, eldest son works nearby so we'll be back. We had a superb lunch, the food is absolutely brilliant.
Friendly and relaxed pub atmosphere - limited choice, but the food they do is very good indeed. I much prefer it that way round!
Went here for a business lunch/meeting and the food was really nice and at a good affordable price which made a very pleasant change. There were enough choices to keep everyone happy.
Was fairly noisy but to be expected for the time that we were there but the staff and service was really good.
Lovely pub for a Sunday lunch. The mains were between £14 to £18 and were a good size and tasty. Dessert options weren’t particularly exciting and the brownie we shared wasn’t the best.
Loved the dining room and ambience, very chilled and relaxed. Service was very good. Good selection of wines , standard London prices.
Two big groups
One in a separate room, the other nearby in the restaurant part
The focus was on the big group
So our table of two was a bit forgotten
Sorry from the waitress was oké, but mayby a glass of wine or a coffee from the house would have been very nice and friendly
an excellent diner in this great gastro pub, great value for money
Wonderful Sunday lunch and a very accommodating waiter - when we told him we had to be at the station within a hour and a half he did not dawdle and ensured that our meal came quickly - he was very charming and efficient.
Very friendly, top service. Highly recommend the Fish and Chips for lunch
Great gastropub serving good quality food in central london, which is actually rarer than you'd think. The Lady Ottoline is well lit, decor elegant without being too overwhelming but far superior to your chain pubs. The service was great as well, every waiter and staff member knew their beer and wine list well, what was on the menu - there was no need to 'ask a manager' and it made speaking with waiters and waitresses easy.
The food itself is what you'd expect for a gastropub, good quality ingredients making good quality dishes. The presentation was nice and considering the location, the prices are not bad. The charm of the Lady Ottoline is that you get the best of two potential worlds - food fit for foodies but you can stay and enjoy a few beers/wines/drinks because after all it is a pub. It's a great place to catch up with friends, take out of towners (the scotch eggs are a REAL highlight), and generally for a nice meal.
There are no downsides to the Lady Ottoline, so if it's convenient for you, it will be one of your staples.
Glad that the Lady Ottoline has re-opened. The food was as good as ever. I loved my softshell crab starter.
Great lunch, highly recommended. We selected mix of the good value set lunch and a la carte in the comfortable upstairs dining room with reminders of Lady Otteline Morrell on the wall. Service was excellent.
Great Sunday lunch - very hard to criticise if you want great food, a good sensible wine list and excellent service in a well preserved historic building.
Outstanding food and service - best dining experience I've had in London in years!
A pleasant meal with friends. Pretty quite as a Saturday afternoon. Fairly limited menu but as long as there is something for you on there, who cares. good service, good food and excellent beers.
A wonderful gastropub with excellent service and great food
Lovely place, great ambience and decor, friendly staff and delicious food and cocktails
Nicely refurbished Bloomsbury pub in a quiet street with impressive gin collection. Friendly, helpful staff but we found the food disappointing - fish and chips with thick, flabby batter, over-vinegary tartare and under-cooked chips. A strange pastry disc topped with grilled aubergine and cheese might have made a credible starter, but not a £15 main course.
Come here once a quarter. Nice spot. Very hot in the summer but great in the winter
My fried Calamari with fresh chilli starter was Very over cooked making it tough to eat but the Linguine to follow was tasty. My friend's hot Pork Belly was good but oddly placed on top of cold salad ... The Rose wine was delicious. I'm fond of the Lady Otterline and the staff, and will of course return there as every restaurant has the occasional hiccough ! ...
