We hadn’t been to the Lamb Inn since before Covid when we were impressed with our meal. Unfortunately, we were less than impressed on this occasion. On sitting down we found our table rocked but after pointing it out, the waitress gave us some beer mats to put under one of the table legs! The service was fine, but was not matched by the meal. We ordered 4 roast beef meals and two roast lamb. The vegetables were very nice but the lamb was slightly chewy but acceptable. My wife asked for mint sauce, to go with the lamb, but was told they didn’t have any! The same could not be said about the beef which was tough and not only difficult to cut up but also took a great deal of effort to chew. Some of it was inedible. We then had puddings which were reasonable. We did not complain but we did overhear other diners complaining to the waitress about the roast pork and roast lamb. When paying I was asked if the meal was ok but as I was asked told the waitress about our thoughts on the meal. I also suggested they provided better cutlery as knives that cut would be helpful. I didn’t receive an apology but was told my comments would be passed to Sarah the manager. The waitress did tell me they had received similar complaints from other customers. Given the total bill came to £180 for six people, I would not say we received value for the money.

Fabulous food as always served hot and plentiful. Seemed like staff levels were a little thin on the ground this week but we were in no hurry so all good. Only minor criticism is that it was a little cold despite being a sunny day so maybe think about turning the heating up a little.

Booked for 3.30pm on a Sunday. There was live music but it was so loud! The restaurant had run out of lamb so my husband had the one lamb left and I had chicken. The lamb was very thinly sliced and disappointing. Lovely waitress though and garden was pretty.

I had a very good Sunday Lunch at The Lamb Inn at Eastcombe, the Salmon and Dill Pate was excellent, with exceptional delicate flavours, and the with the Roast Beef, there was almost more than I could eat. I had asked for a variation in the vegetables, because of my allergies, and this was accommodated with no problem and no fuss. I finished off with the Pear Crumble (home made?) and chocolate ice cream, all washed down with 2 pints of Stroud Brewery "Budding." All excellent, and excellent value. I would hope to return for another Sunday Lunch at another time.

Great service and a fantastic view from our table. Overall the food was good the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I had a chocolate brownie for my dessert that was a bit dry and I did think the main meals are good value the deserts a a bit pricy for what you get. But overall I would go back.

Lovely outdoor garden area. We had the home made pies and was overcooked. The staff were lovely. We unfortunately chose a time to visit when there were wedding preparations going on. Music was often too loud I couldn’t hear the conversation at our table.

Reception was good and a nice social atmosphere. Food was let down by reheated roast potatoes which were hard in centre and had that absorbed fat taste. Lots of staff but not attentive enough as ran out of drinks and left waiting. Once served speed was good Glasses on table but no water jug. Costs were average

Disappointed in our meal yesterday as we have had good food on previous occasions. Starter was good but then our main roast arrived with beef and we had ordered lamb. It was changed but the roast potatoes were awful. We sat waiting to be offered another drink and the sweet menu but no one ever came back to us. We waited & waited but we were completely ignored so we decided to pay and leave.

We went in a party of four- all had different meals - fish and chips, burger, burritos and salmon. Everyone was satisfied with their food, the quantities were good and my salmon dish was delicious. The waitress was lovely, attentive but not over the top, smiled all the time and had a lovely personality and was approachable. She gave us prompt but not pressured service. I put the noise level at three, but it was actually quiet at the beginning, but after we had eaten, a large lively running group came in after their run, which was great - they filled the pub and created a lively atmosphere- good to see a local nice and busy. A jolly end to a very pleasant evening!

Service was very attentive. Food was good quality and tasty. But menu had no mention that the Fajitas would be super spicy and the chocolate brownies would contain raspberries. We ate the food but had to swap choices between us. If the menu had mentioned spice level and raspberries we would have chosen differently. Not a disaster, but took the shine off the evening.

Really friendly people and great views overlooking the Stroud valley..service was efficient and very polite (though it was not too busy when we went).. Food was good though the chilli I had could have done with more sauce an spices (though it's fairly subjective).. Good choice of drinks...all in all a very enjoyable afternoon was had!

A friendly welcome and lovely food. A cosy pub opening out onto wonderful outside space overlooking Great views across the valley. The beer garden has plenty of space and was an oasis of peace & calm. Also many walks from the Lamb around the area. We would, and did, spend many relaxing hours there and would happily do so again.

Party of 4, for a birthday lunch. Glorious weather allowed us to sit outside. The menu gives a lot of choice, offering a sandwich menu, a bar meals menu and the main menu. Food was lovely; we were made to feel very welcome, and the standard of service was outstanding. Recommended.

Beautiful pub in outstanding location. You'll be hard pushed to find a better beer garden. Staff could do with some service training, food was a over average along with drinks selection. There was live music when we were there which was great fun.

Overall the experience at the Lamb Inn was fair though we are really disappointed with how this pub has become with new management. We used to be regular customers before lock down and used to host dues with friends and family there as the food and service were excellent, and the view over the valley is amazing. The quality of the food and the service has reduced significantly from what it used to be. The food was ok and the service was really slow, to the extent that we thought the waiters had forgotten there were customers in the dining room. The waiter was bringing food to the tables on a tray to do less journeys, this worked ok on tables like ours where we were only 4 guests. I felt really bad for the table next to ours, it was a table of 8 and when all the main courses were brought by the waiter on a large tray, some of the sauce from a fish and chips landed on one of the guests and the floor. While the Lamb Inn used to be the place to go and celebrate special occasions, now it is one all right pub to stop when you are on a walk in the countryside.

Very, very disappointed in the poor quality of the (expensive) Sunday roast. Both the beef and the pork were tasteless. The green (frozen I assume) vegetables were over cooked, the cauliflower cheese was watery and had no flavour of cheese, and the gravy was from granules. Won’t be going again. Service was good.
