Business lunch . Rather awkward seating arrangements being a sofa and v wide chairs . Food was good but slow getting to the table . My cod was shy of being cooked through but time was getting on . Service was fine . Would recommend.

We walked in, and I told the server I had a reservation for 2:30pm. He pointed to the closest table and told us to sit down. The tables surrounding us hadn’t been cleared. There was a gentleman sat outside the front of the restaurant smoking, and it was all you could smell inside. Our table hasn’t been set properly, we had cutlery missing. After a few minutes we actually decided to leave and dine elsewhere as the prices at The Lampery are pretty premium. The atmosphere and service did not match up to the cost to dine there. Extremely disappointed!

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Lampery, however service was very slow, not a problem if you have time to spare however we needed to get back to the office. Over all a good atmosphere and good food, just slow service.

Outstanding food and impressive food presentation! The location is lovely and with a pleasant atmosphere. It's my fourth time there and I'll be back for sure soon. Superb!

A nice menu and wine-list, with well-executed dishes and good presentation. The service was also cordial but very slow; I'm not sure if this was as the result of under-staffing, but unfortunately the struggle for attention will be my abiding memory of a late lunch here. Which is unfortunate, because the quality of the food deserves to be more than a footnote.

Really like this restaurant and the food but the service has been poor on both of my visits. This time, I literally had to go and find a waiter to get a drink before ordering.

If booking for midweek, this review doesn't apply, and I suspect that the midweek experience is very good, but this is purely for a Sunday experience (which was when I went). On Sunday lunchtime there is are only a very limited brunch menu on offer. When we arrived I felt there was a lack of attentiveness, tables were left uncleared around us, and there didn't seem to be anyone around. I went for the full English breakfast, and in all honesty wasn't impressed by the quality of it, especially the wilted rocket and greasy bacon. The impression it left me with is that it is a restaurant whose primary business comes from midweek hotel and business guests, and I suspect midweek dining is outstanding, but on a Sunday are only there to run a skeleton service as they have to open be for there hotel guests. It would be really good to update the menu listings, on the brunch menu it's stated that it is a Sunday offering, but there is no mention on the A La Carte menu about the lack of availability on weekends.

The food itself was good, but our evening was unfortunately let down by the inattentive service. It took a long time and had to catch the eye of several people to take our order. Also, despite asking for the bill when we ordered dessert it didn't arrive. We asked again, and it didn't come. Finally, after about 30 minutes, we were presented the bill.

The restaurant wasn't full by any means, and we just couldn't understand why there was such a long time lag between everything: ordering the food, getting a drink, getting the bill.

To be clear, the waiters were friendly and helpful when we got their attention, but it was really difficult to actually get someone to our table.

Excellent meal on Friday evening of August Bank Holiday. Lively atmosphere but not too noisy. Open to the terrace so sat inside but felt as if outside (outside was the smoking area!) Choice of starters was limited; I enjoyed the Buratta but the Swordfish Carpaccio in mango was an acquired taste and not to our liking. The mains were excellent; two steaks both cooked perfectly, one steak and eggs (delicious) and a plate of gnocchi which was declared delicious by our 11 year old grandson and wolfed down. Excellent lemon tart for afters and he had a chocolate pyramid which was also devoured. The others had the cheese selection which was also good. Service was excellent; attentive and friendly without being overpowering. Overall, an excellent meal in a venue close to Tower of London. Highly recommended.

on arrival we were taken to our table in the glass walled dinning area which was light and airy.
The staff were friendly and attentive and offered advice on the menu.
we had a great meal, food was well presented and tasty.

All our selections were well prepared, and the Lampery Pie proved very popular. The portion sizes were quite large, so we only had one course and some very good olives for nibbles. Service was good.

Business lunch on hot busy day . Service was fine for a busy day . It would have been nice if our table had been wiped down since the breakfast sitting . Food was fine albeit overall a bit pricey . Will return

Saturday night the place was totally empty (7:30pm). Some staff were lovely but unfortunately some were also rude to/about other members of staff in front of our table. Food and cocktails were fair considering it’s london but the total lack of atmosphere was the biggest pitfall.

It was really nice but it seems that their service should be improved. The last food, dessert was very slow to arrive. One of staff said to us they upset our desserts. It can't be help but we had to be waiting for over a hour. In addition, they made a mistake again as for our bill. Some drinks and foods were charged twice. These things made us disappointed although ambience and foods were brilliant. Hope it could be getting better for future customers.

My daughter & I chose the Lampery for lunch as we were celebrating her birthday with a visit first to the Sky Garden. The food was exceptional & I would definitely recommend to others. The service was friendly & helpful.

We dined here earlier this year when visiting London. Hotel restaurants don't always get the credit they deserve and are often overlooked as a place to eat. Staff were absolutely lovely, friendly, efficient and took the time to talk. The food was first class and we would highly recommend. When we visit London again, even if we don't stay at the Apex, but we probably will, I would definitely eat in The Lampery. Thank you.

Nice restaurant, good choice of food and spacious for a group dinner. Staff were service focus and friendly, food was tasty and portion sizes were ok. One observation to the management is to slow down the refill of glasses, it doesn't make sense to refill glasses that just have been refilled and not even touched. This made is feel that there was too much focus on drinks volume instead of customer needs.

Very disappointing experience
As a regular Open table user I find reviews an accurate indicator of the venue
Unfortunately my experience did not validate the previous ratings
Staff that ignored requests happened on three occasions by 3 separate staff
Descriptors of food was not accurate
Old produce was prevalent
Overall I would not choose to frequent this venue again

We went to the Lampery for set menu and free flowing prosecco at £42 for my friends birthday. There were 6 of us. The burger was delicious and desert was nice also. The ambience is chilled and romantic, right next to the four seasons hotel in Tower Hill so beautiful location. However, there was no free flowing prosecco. For what we spent all 6 of us, we probably ended up having 3 glasses of wine each in 90 minutes which was not as good as other places I have been to. The place was not busy so it was a bit of a shock to us as to why we had very limited prosecco.

Nice surroundings and nice waiters.
The food was ok.
The music for the breakfast was loud and stressful so it wasn't cozy to be. We would have preferred something more relaxing.

Food was bad, dry and highly over priced. Too loud music and chaotically moving waiters. They aren't serving and listening customers. The bill and drinks need to be ordered twice and there was too much charged things, extra water and kids menu included desserts but not on our bill. Not recommending to anyone. I don't understand any other people recommends. It is crappy place.

We were in London on holiday over Christmas day and decided to book a table for our family of 5. We were promptly seated and the restaurant was very nice and festive looking. They had Christmas poppers for us which was a nice, fun touch. While the food was good, I felt it was a bit overpriced (55 euro for an appetizer, main dish (with plenty of shared sides) and dessert. The biggest issues were 1) the service was awful. We were one of the first tables for dinner, so it was not due to being overcrowded. We ordered a glass of wine with our foie gras and were almost done eating before the wine arrived. We then ordered a second glass of wine to go with our main meal, and again, were done eating before the wine arrived. Our food would have gone cold had we waited. 2) It was unbearably hot. All 5 of us literally had sweat dripping down our backs, and we were definitely NOT overdressed for the time of year. In fact, two of my kids just had a single layer dress shirt on.

Disappointing visit, having seen the festive menu on offer with "free flowing" Prosecco it was disappointing to be told on arrival that this had to be pre-booked as it had certainly not been mentioned on opentable at the point of booking. I was advised I should have added it to the special requirements field or additional comments. As a result for our Christmas lunch there was not turkey available or one of the starters. We were offered an alternative set menu but by this time the whole experience had put us of. We had a starter and main. To be fair we were brought some aranci balls as a gesture of goodwill, however it was too little too late and we left rather underwhelmed and disappointed that a festive lunch was not forthcoming.
Shame as actually it seemed like a nice place and food we had was tasty. The service at times was also quite slow.

It was absolutely freezing, with aircon on and even when we requested they turn up the heat nothing happened. We had to wear overcoats throughout.

Came here for a business meal with a table of 6 - requested a quiet table to enable chatting and were placed at the very end of the restaurant where table was spacious and quiet, much appreciated. It was very warm there so asked for temperature to be adjusted which was done - very nice. The drinks area was busy and noisy, but the restaurant area only had a few diners - this did not really bother us. Service was attentive, staff had smiles on, and it was an overall pleasant experience. Food was pretty good, but not amazing. Would come back for similar occasions.

The restaurant appears to be attached to The Apex hotel. It is however pretty empty. On recollection there were only 1 or 2 other parties dining. There was a lack of atmosphere but that allowed us to talk easily.

Service was good without being over attentive but was rather dispassionate - perhaps a sign that the waiting staff were bored at the lack of covers.

Food was okay but could have been eaten at any other establishment.

I don’t think it will be High on our list of places to come back to. Not because it was bad but that there was nothing to make us go back.
