The Lanesborough is lovely and Christmas time is stunning however the food for the set festive menu was disappointing especially the desserts. We had done the same in July with a set menu and everything was exceptional. Just didn’t reach the same level this time.

Wonderful dinner at the Grill. We booked their set festive menu for our anniversary. The room is spectacular. Glorious and grand but not stuffy or too traditional. Service was just perfect - what you expect from a top dining experience. And the 3-course menu for £55 a person is beyond. You spend that much on food per person at your basic high street chain restaurant. We had cheddar tarts, caramelised brioche and butter, duck liver pate, turkey wellingtons, chocolate brownies and Christmas pudding. Everything was prepared to the highest level and delicious. But nicely sized portions and just enough pomp and circumstance you get with fine dining. They even brought a card and extra dessert for us to celebrate our anniversary. And the cocktails were spot on. What you expect from a 5-star hotel bar. Interestingly, we went to the brand new Peninsula Hotel next door for drinks beforehand. The Brooklands bar at the top was a lovely space with great drinks and views, so I recommend that as well. But overall, the Peninsula felt like a generic luxury hotel without character or history, whereas The Lanesborough was just spectacular from its heritage, design, Christmas decorations, and staff; everything was amazing. I normally go for more modern hotels, but considering all the buzz about the Peninsula, I will say I was disappointed. I will take The Lanesborough any day. What a treat! Thanks to their amazing team.

Very disappointing, Food was not hot enough, and not very good. We waited 20 mins for our champagne. lovely setting but lunch overrated and not up to the standard we would expect from such a lovely hotel. Roast potatoes rock hard, veg not appetising at all, meat very rear when we requested medium we took some very good friends and were a bit embarrassed to be honest John and Angie James

Fabulous. Lunch was excellent, we had a minor issue with the food temperature and it was dealt with immediately in a friendly and respectful manner. Food was exquisite, staff wonderful, ambience excellent. Going back as soon as have opportunity!

Sunday Lunch 26th Nov 2023. Arrived at 12:05 and joined a small queue. A couple of guests arrived after me, I was ignored, and the guests were tended to and seated before me. Ordered a lime and soda without ice and lime juice and soda arrived. I apologised to the waiter explaining that I actually meant lime cordial. A waitress then arrived with lime juice with a slice of lime. I then explained that I wanted lime cordial with soda and no ice. The manager then arrived with a tiny shot glass of cordial with a glass with lime in it. I explained to him what I had ordered from start to finish and then I made up my own drink from what he had. I know you can tell thus far it is going well but let’s move on! Ordered coronation crab starter (my mistake) as I wasn’t sure if it was same coronation as in the sauce/dressing as coronation chicken. It was so left that as I do not like coronation sauce. Main course was beef wellington. I noticed from the menu that it did not mention any vegetables. Beef wellington arrived (wait for it.) an absolute disaster pastry was raw on the inside yes raw. Beef was raw albeit lukewarm in the middle. Totally inedible, oh and no vegetables which was disappointing, although half expected so obviously did not eat it. Another waiter (poor soul who had obviously lost the bet) came and asked me if everything was alright. I asked for the bill, and he replied that there would be no charge. I explained what had happened and offered to a least pay for my drink. He said that would not be necessary and that he would speak to the chef. Such a shame. On the way out I asked the female concierge where the men’s toilets were. She greeted me with a good morning when in fact it was afternoon I replied good afternoon to which she looked puzzled and then looked at her Pc as if to check and then said you want the men ‘s toilets? as if I should be asking for the ladies toilets. Sums it up really. Maybe it’s me. But you really couldn’t write this

Took my 16 year old for birthday. We were looked after and made to feel special. Food was excellent. We had three courses all had great taste combinations. We also enjoyed the pianist. To top it off we were given a lovely little birthday cake. This was a nice touch.

If you want to go back in time and feel the atmosphere of before Titanic the Lanesborough is a very good choice. The is kitchen knows it's work. The service is very good, a lot's of italians present to guarantee it. The prices especially of the wine paring makes you die 👎..., and to access the wine list you must rob a bank or two before ordering.

25th Anniversary meal, so looking for special and not disappointed. The food was exceptional, especially the lamb which was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the service attentive without trying to rush you through. For London I believe good value and would recommend.

It’s very hard to imagine you could experience such a high level of quality and service in a 5 star establishment for Sunday lunch anywhere else in London and especially this post code region for bill outlay incurred .. The ambience and decor were lovely especially with the Christmas decorations. The welcome at the door was the best we have had in a London hotel. Service was very good. Worth having a drink in the Library before moving to restaurant.The pianist was delightful however our table was a bit close to hear ourselves speak so we were moved to another without any problem. For me the beef was a bit rare but everyone else liked it. A small comment would be perhaps not to say that the wine we chose was ‘entry level’ which was slightly embarrassing even though we thought it was quite a good one to select. Perhaps just a question of over sharing information. Overall highly recommend and we will return.

A most enjoyable dining experience overall. The food was well cooked and presented. The only small quibble I had was as a non-meat eater, I had a limited choice. There appeared to be no vegetarian menu available at lunchtime. On the a la carte menu, there was only one available starter, a risotto, which was rather heavy if one was to have a main course and dessert. Service excellent, and bread provided delicious.

The Lanesborough Grill is in a beautiful formal room and provides a lovely setting! We went for lunch mid-week, to celebrate a birthday. The food was wonderful and beautifully presented. We chose to add the wine pairing, which was very good. The staff were absolutely lovely - impeccable service and yet very friendly - there was also a little surprise because they knew it was a birthday celebration! Would definitely visit again.

I have dined at the Lanesborough Grill (formerly Celeste) on several occasions. The dining room is beautiful, bathed with natural daylight from the glass roof and decorated in shades of blue. The food as always was delicious and the staff are efficient and friendly. The set lunch menu is good value for money and on occasions includes a glass of champagne.

Lovely lunch. Delicious. Hubby wasn’t too keen on menu choices when I booked since it was very limited but he was pleasantly surprised how tasty everything was and we enjoyed the lunch thoroughly. Service was excellent. We will be back!!

Dining at the Lanesborough Grill was a great experience. The hotel, from the lobby to the restaurant, was spotless but also very cozy. Service in the restaurant was first class, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, calm and chill. There is plenty of space between tables which is rare nowadays in London. We went for the London restaurant festival set menu. The menu offerred good value and had enough choices for everyone. The food quality was good considering the price paid, however I won't say it's as good as some of the destination restaurant. It's safe, tasty but lacks dimensions and depth. Despite it's not a perfect dinner I would still go back to enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Outstanding food and even better service, filled with little lovely details, such as a handwritten birthday card, a complimentary dessert with a candle and a very attentive service commanded by a very friendly and competent maitre d’. Excellent choice for a special night out, as my husband’s birthday. We had the three course set dinner. Highlights for us where the artichoke risotto, the butter carbon brioche with chicken pâté fait maison and the chocolate cake. Also outstanding where the petit fours that accompanied the coffee. It was one of our best meals ever in London.

This was a meal very much of two halves. The presentation of the dishes, and the taste were wonderful. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. This should have been an excellent dining experience were it not for the unacceptable delays of an hour in providing the main course, of which the Head Waiter was only too well aware, and for which he apologised profusely. Even when the gnocchi I had ordered finally arrived, the sauce that accompanied it was over salted. The hotel acknowledged that they should have done better, and I hope to return soon to test their promise. Were it not for the delays, higher star ratings would have been justifiably earned.

Fabulous as usual. Excellent service from learned and professional staff. Discreet yet always attentive. Wonderful food and just a great place to dine. Thank you for making our 60th Birthdays very memorable.

A truly enjoyable lunchtime experience. The quality of our food was a delight and the helpful pleasant non intrusive attention from our waiting staff just added to our enjoyment. It was reassuring that Daniel the manager was always on hand to ensure that things ran smoothly.
