The Last Wine Bar & Restaurant
The food is modern, honest and largely locally-sourced, and you can choose from bar, set and a la carte menus, all of which are regularly updated.
There are around 60 carefully-chosen wines available, with more than two-thirds offered by the glass or carafe. Alongside the classics are the unusual and the esoteric; you are encouraged to Drink Different.
As well as the food and wine, the longevity of the Last is down to its unrivalled, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The relaxed ambience has inspired a loyal following across nearly three decades; Norwich without The Last is unthinkable.
Good food the only problem was the waiters knowledge of the drinks .I requested a choice of beers available and was not informed you had bottled beer and was only served a dreadful local brew which prompted an early exit
It was great to see that the last wine bar brasserie was busy and vibrant. Staff were helpful, friendly and great service.
Great ambience and service. Steak cooked to perfection. Both main courses beautifully presented. Homemade crackers with cheese delightful. Staff very welcoming. Would highly recommend a visit.
Disappointing, and you will need to do much better to tempt us back!!!
I said no to recommendation, this is due to the fact that my main course was cold, actually when the dish was returned it was only a little better.
Our server Lee was fantastic, great all round personality.
We had a lovely evening. The table servers were attentive and very cheerful. The food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be returning.
We really enjoyed our first visit, food was amazing and customer service was excellent. Will definitely return
It made a very good night out for the 6 of us. Good ambience, excellent service, and food items generally good to very good.
Disappointed with lack of real ales available. Would have preferred to have not been situated in the bar area but realise this was because of renovations.
Fantastic food and an excellent host.
Service was very good with a nice friendly atmosphere, waiter took care to explain menu and the food arrived promptly and was very interesting and excellent flavours.
Wine choices extensive and available by glass, caraffes of various sizes. Overall a very pleasant evening
I remember this as being a really nice place to eat with a lovely atmosphere but things have changed and the food was of poor quality, disappointing.
Very nice meal , service was excellent,
Definitely will go back
Good fresh food, great wine list. Well worth a visit.
Really good food in a very interesting setting - staff friendly and helpful
Fabulous setting with helpful friendly staff who look after all your needs. Outstanding food and service which we thought was value for money.
We ate Late Lunch here. Great food, Great service.
I was recommended by my niece who lives in Trowse .... we weren’t disappointed in any way ... service fantastic....
Compliments to you...
Very nice food and excellent service.
Our third or fourth time at The Last WB. We keep coming back as food is reliably tasty and inventive but not fussy. Good wine list too. Our favourite place for dinner in Norwich.
My family were visiting Norwich this summer. We chose to eat out on a Monday, not the best day of the week, as many resturants were closed.
We did, however, find The Last Bar and Resturant, on our Yelp App.
The service was extreamely good, smiling faces, good sense of humour, without getting in the way of our family dining experience. Recommendations were well presented and the food was of a good standard.
We were too full to eat a dessert, but was curious as to how a Vegan Eton Mess was made without eggs. Our waiter was knowlegeable and went through the process of how chick pea watetr was used instead. Then we had to try one.....
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was very good and a nice ambiance, so all in all a very good evening.
Good food, very well presented. The service was efficient and friendly and both myself and my guest were made to feel very welcome. The only glitch we encountered was that when we arrived at the restaurant they had no record of my booking ( made through Open Table). This necessitated some hasty checking of tables and although quickly sorted was initially disconcerting.
Needs fixing fast.the open table email sent 24 hrs before asking for confirmation of attendance had invitation to view the menu, the menu was not up to date.
In future I suggest if it not accurate don't send it.
We are long time users of the last, this occasion was not impressive,we opted for 3 course bar fixed, we all ate the food but really were not impressed with choice, portions small and not that tasty.
For a Friday evening it was very quiet, perhaps we were too early.
Serving staff were very good and attentive.
We still think main menu overpriced with steaks around £22 to £26 and extras for veg etc at £3.50 etc.
Booked this by doing a google search and was really pleased we did!! Food was delicious, great ambiance and the staff were super friendly and helpful especially the lovely chap behind the bar.
Will be back when next in Norwich
Husbands birthday dinner, 6 in our party, staff were efficient & food was lovely. Crab starter was so fresh and the blackcurrant cheesecake the best I have ever had, not at all heavy like some cheesecakes but light, fluffy and more ish. Only criticism is where we were seated it was quite dark, just a single candle on the table and no overhead lighting. But highly recommended place to eat
Very friendly welcome, lovely food and service. We were seated downstairs in the bar area which was empty and quiet but did lack ambience. However our elderly friends were glad to be able to hear our conversation!
This was the first time we had visited and I booked online asking for the pre-theatre deal for a main course and a drink, including wine and beer. We arrived in a rain storm, just having been soaked through to our underwear by a pleasant passing motorist! The staff were lovely and gave us tea towels and a table where we couldn't soak the chairs through! They also informed us that the pre-theatre deal wasn't on on a Saturday, but the kitchen had agreed to kindly do it for us! Food was fab and the place was buzzing. What could have been a disaster of an evening was in the end the complete opposite!
Fabulous in every way! Comfortable seating, spacious table, not crammed onto a small table even though only 2 of us! Excellent service from the staff. Great selection of wines and delicious food. Looking forward to going again 🙂
Birthday celebration table for six, tasty well presented food, excellent wine list, with brilliant service as usual. Still my favourite Norwich restaurant to eat for the last 17 years!
Very good value. Friendly atmosphere. Good cooking and excellent wines
This visit to the Last was for a quick lunch, just one course, with my daughter. Service was friendly and efficient, food excellent - I am now a convert to tofu! The Last has got its mojo back.
One of the best restaurants I have visited in Norwich. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly & knowledgeable.
Booked before going to see open air theatre production. Friendly, prompt service and lovely food. The only reasons we didn’t give 5 stars for food: could have more choice for vegetarians; apparently the arctic roll dessert was rock hard so a bit disappointing. Everything else great! Highly recommended.
Amazing food, fantastic staff and over great place.
Food was superb- seemed to of upped their game. Did have a party of fifty in - so a bit toooo noisy and the air con wasn’t doing much ..... it was hottest day of the year to be fair. Even hot and loud, was still a fabulous meal.
As long term customers of The Last, we were disappointed by our recent visit. All the waiting staff seemed to have changed and were friendly enough but inexperienced. Our waiter didn’t produce a wine list until asked and she was not familiar with the list. Waiting staff who carried up our dishes were impersonal. The menu was less imaginative than usual and we not inspired by the choices. No bread was served at the start of the meal. It felt as though the new owners were saving money. Great bottle of wine though and we normally like the ambience so will be giving it another chance.
Always excellent. Never disappoints! Will be back soon!
We booked in with friends for the Wednesday Special of Chateaubriand and a bottle of Gevry Chambertin for two for £95.00. Service was friendly and efficient and the steak was excellently cooked to our requirements. The wine was good but not as exceptional as we had expected. Delicious desserts to follow and an altogether very enjoyable evening.
Great food, friendly service, helpful staff, interesting place with a lovely ambience. Couldn't fault it. Good choice of food and everything we had was delicious. Will definitely be back, love it!
