The Last Wine Bar & Restaurant
The food is modern, honest and largely locally-sourced, and you can choose from bar, set and a la carte menus, all of which are regularly updated.
There are around 60 carefully-chosen wines available, with more than two-thirds offered by the glass or carafe. Alongside the classics are the unusual and the esoteric; you are encouraged to Drink Different.
As well as the food and wine, the longevity of the Last is down to its unrivalled, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The relaxed ambience has inspired a loyal following across nearly three decades; Norwich without The Last is unthinkable.
Always a great experience dining at The Last the place is always buzzing.
Good selection of food, unhurried but friendly service and great wines.
Great food, excellent service if we lived nearer we’d be regulars
Really lovely food, friendly service, we love this place!
We always enjoy our evenings at Last. The staff are just so friendly, helpful and make an effort to remember you and what you like, which is lovely. Food is of a high standard too.
Fabulous service, especially by the northern girl! Food was outstanding too - great restaurant.. we will be back!
The restaurant was quite empty when we went for lunch. The service was good - our waitress was friendly and efficient and the food was really good so would definitely go again and recommend to others.
As usual checked the reviews and booked a table for Friday, based on the very good feedback. Who writes these reviews? This place is at best mediocre. Wine and service OK - the food uninspired, bland , small portions and not that cheap. Haunch of venison - tough and tasteless - all in all a real disappointment - if you want good food in Norwich go to the Cote Brasserie
Excellent service and food
Food very good as always, but service was incredibly slow
Bearing in mind the extractor fan wasn’t working and the smoke alarm went off, the staff offered us another table but we were content where we were sitting. The staff couldn’t do enough for us .
Always amazing food, great service and a lovely atmosphere! 😊
My favourite restaurant in Norwich
The staff set the tone as soon as you walk up to the bar. Their enthusiasm is infectious and our whole evening was just as we hoped it would be. This visit went a long way to making my birthday trip to Norwich a big success - thank you.
Lasts remains one of the best eateries in Norwich. Great ambience in the bar and the right balance between offering fine dining but with a more relaxed edge. Food was excellent with the doughnut stuffed with oxtails outstanding.
we were stuck behind a pillar across from the main bar which is not nice.
Whoever thought charcoal added to mayonnaise is edible needs to be shot ,just awful ,all the staff are nice.
Our favourite restaurant in Norwich. Pleased that the quality of food is still first class
Birthday for me and my friend. We enjoyed great service and 3 out of 4 of us really enjoyed the food; I had the catch of the day and it was on the cold side which spoiled the quality
The food was amazing! The chargrilled octopus and ox tail doughnut were to die for. And the duck entree did not disappoint.
We had an enjoyable time at the Last wine Bar . The food was very good although puddings a bit sweet for my taste. The waiter was a bit slow and forgot auto bring a second beer order until the meal was nearly finished. Our experience was marred by a rather raucous group of drunk people . Perhaps the staff could have asked them to tone it done a bit .
We would come back though .
It's been a long time between visits for me and I have to say the food, the staff and the restaurant is still a delight. Will definitely not leave it so long between visits.
The Last has improved exponentially in recent times to produce really top notch food, a great wine list and a delightful atmosphere, always topped off with genuinely good service from skilled and informed waiting staff. I took a lunch party of clients and colleagues, who were all really complimentary of the food. I was so impressed, I went back to try their fairly new 'Breakfast at the Last' the next day, which was equally delicious. The only think missing ... it doesn't open on a Sunday - you can only imagine what a mouth-watering Last Sunday Lunch might be like ....!
Lovely places with great menu. Service friendly and attentive. Will come back again. To try the other dishes we hadn’t tried.
Warm welcome from the lady behind the bar, but young girl who served the food looked like she would rather be somewhere else.
New decor in the second function room much better but still the bar area is the place to sit. vegetarian style dish had none veggie cheese, admittedly it didn’t say it was vegetarian. overall nice but nothing special and relatively expensive.
Food was OK though one of our main meals was presented cold.
Wine very overpriced.
Very enjoyable evening out. Some interesting menu choices, not everything works out but there are one or two surprises on each plate, so in any case not dull. Trout starter is brilliant, very tasty.
Although no steaks available the restaurant called before to explain. Food overall was very good.
Service was slightly poor, especially as it was not a busy night (maybe a new member of staff?
Would definitely recommend and will go again
Best food I have ever eaten but at an affordable price range, had the Norfolk wagu beef special as a main which was different to anything I've ever tasted so glad we went here
Introduced two friends to The Last and it didn't disappoint. Wine was excellent, so was the gin! Service very friendly and accommodating. But more importantly the food was outstanding!
Sadly the food was not of the usual standard. The fish dish was the wrong side of warm and so were the potatoes both new and mashed. We pointed this out out at he time but we did not have time for replacements as we were going to a show at the Playhouse. The shin and stilton pie was a bit salty but that may have been the cheese used.
Disappointing as we usually have an excellent experience.
Service was excellent.
As this is mid January we were slightly surprised by how busy it was, however it was mainly older diners and the place was almost empty by 8-8.30, but there is a nice ambience and it enabled my friend and I to catch up. However, the menu was limited for us both and as my friend is vegan there really only was one choice, I think they will need to review this going forward with the change in societies views on eating. However, the waitress was very attentive, helpful and really good, so we would definitely give it another go later in the year.
A lovely special on Monday - atmosphere great as usual..
A qualified yes to the recommendation. We have eaten at Last's for many years and have always found it excellent. This time it was just good. The wines my wife and I had were disappointing, and the desserts a little bland. We will perhaps return but not in a hurry.
Excellent food, great service and superb wine. Great bistro style food in an amazing building.
It’s was ok. Think they were a little short staff.
Improve the customer service and your there
I’ve been going here since it opened 30 years ago and I’ve never been disappointed
It was a great night and a lovely restaurant. Everyone’s food was delicious and the staff were friendly. The only down side was that service for drinks particularly was slow.
Nice food, but not huge portion sizes. We were sat in the annex, which doesnt quite have the wamth and atmosphere on the main bar area. Overall, it was fine.
Excellent food and service. Plan to go back again.
Just gorgeous food and great service.
The classics done SO WELL! One of the best steak n chips we’ve ever had.... excellent wine and the staff were brilliant- thank you for making my dads 70th birthday fabulous x
