The Last Wine Bar & Restaurant
The food is modern, honest and largely locally-sourced with the a la carte menu changing frequently with the seasons.
As well as the food and wine, the longevity of the Last is down to its unrivalled, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The relaxed ambience has inspired a loyal following across nearly three decades; Norwich without The Last is unthinkable.

A really great and innovative menu from the a la carte selection the staff were absolutely great, just perfect service. A great selection of wines to choose from, the Norfolk Winibirri red was a perfect compliment to the venison and steak main courses we chose. The steak was cooked really well and the venison perfectly pink. We finished dinner with a great desert and coffee and a fabulous glass of Jura on which to say Happy Christmas Eve. Our favorite Norwich gem never disappoints. Just lovely. Would always highly recommend.
We ate in the bar which had a nice cosy atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing Roast dinner .Actually the best I've had in a very long time
Service was fab
We do not eat out very much and when we do it is the same places. We were treated to our meal at The Last Wine Bar (The Last Bar & Restaurant). We chose the Festive Menu. It was terrific. We will go back and thoroughly recommend it.
Excellent food & wine on the whole, fine dining, haven’t been for three years as away but met expectations as always historically a good experience and certainly look forward to a return. Difficult times for everyone but circumstances reasonably well managed.
Really lovely waitress and amazing food ! Thank you:)
Very good food and excellent attentive service, I wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future.
Lovely meal. Covid friendly.
Excellent food and service we are never disappointed when we eat here.
Excellent food, service and wine. Have been here a couple times since it re opened under new management and it’s great, would recommend
Another fine dining experience at The Last and excellent food once again. A warm welcome on arrival, although the restaurant did not have a record of my booking via OpenTable. However the staff member immediately allocated a table and there was no issue.
Quality ingredients and delightful pairing with the wine too
Good value and a delight to dine once again at the restaurant.
Fantastic meal and service. We haven't been to The Last for a while but we will be returning as soon as we can. Best meal we have had from there
A long awaited return to The Last. Warm receptionand impeccable service. Also much patience when deciding upon which wine to order! We had the Festive menu, the food was excellent from start to finish. This made for a very happy birthday!
Mother and daughter bubble lunch date!
We have long been fans of The Last Wine and even more so now that Chef Iain is in charge. This was our first time going for Sunday Roast - a new addition - and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! Just go hungry!!
The roast sirloin came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, heritage carrot, kale, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese! and was by all accounts wonderful! The ox cheek that I had was melt in the mouth with delicious black cabbage, smoked mash and heritage carrots. For dessert we both opted for the fig frangipane tart with stout ice cream and poached pear - we were both in heaven!
Such a fantastic restaurant working hard during this lockdown and tier system and doing a marvellous job!
This was my second visit to the last wine bar and it was fantastic.
We were seated promptly and informed about the specials and menu availability. We were given ample time to choose our food and drink and offered more if required. We were given complimentary bread while we were viewing the menu, at this point I considered if it would be strange to ask for lots more as my main. I didn’t want my date to think me strange, so I chose from the menu instead. you should sell bread in the mornings! I’d buy it!. Lewis (sorry if that’s not your name), our waiter, offered recommendations from the menu confidently and even enquired about my usual choices and advised trying something different and unique to them. Absolutely brilliant service, as with my previous visit.
I had a starter and main, as did my company. We both sampled one another’s starters and were very impressed with both. I certainly couldn’t choose between the two! We had the same main, ox cheek, and it was delectable. I forgot to take pictures but I will next time!
The food was fantastic, the service was fantastic, the atmosphere and decor were fantastic. A side note, I loved the artwork on display/for sale. If you want fine dining at an affordable price, look no further.
With COVID being a consideration to diners, I thought I’d give it a mention. The last wine bar offers spacious dining and ample room to manoeuvre around if required. The staff all gave us space and only made contact with us when necessary. Everyone was wearing the correct PPE. I can’t imagine what that must feel like in the kitchen! Hand sanitiser was available too. They were certainly following the guidelines perfectly and I’d feel very safe to dine there again in that respect.
All in all I had a great time and will definitely be going back.
As always, great food and excellent service which added to the venue makes for a fab night out
Enjoyed it. Good to be out again. All friendly and pleasant. Food good.
We tried the festive menu which was outstanding in both presentation, taste and great value. Attentive service and very enjoyable evening.
Simply outstanding! We loved everything about our meal. Didn’t want it to end.
Very nice simple menu but all cooked very well, I will return soon
Great food, great staff and love the ambience of this place. Been coming here for years and never disappoints.
Can’t wait for next visit
Last lunch sitting before the Corvid Lockdown 2 and it was outstanding but tinged with sadness we'll not be able to enjoy another visit for at least a month...
One of my favourite restaurants, possibly my favourite since the chef became the owner and there have been some changes. The Sunday lunch was superb-the best roast beef I can remember . Dinner this week was also good and the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc one of the best I have tasted. The evening was only somewhat marred by an icy draft every time the door opened. Something needs to be done about that. In fact the temperature was slightly chilly-comfortable for the staff but not the customers !
Great to see all the work at the Last paying off, back to its old self.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere with extremely good and attentive service. Food was delicious too.
Been here many times
Disappointed only roasts available
We were placed in the other part of the building which has no atmosphere what so ever
So pleased this place has reopened and it’s even better! Food, service and value were all excellent, Would recommend
Just amazing not sure what else you can say outstanding food service and wine
Great service, food and ambience. Perfect
Wonderful meal . Food terrific and flavoursome. Very attentive service. We will return .... thank you team
Excellent venue for a private intimate celebration.
However, it feels a little exposed as tables are quite close to each other.
We took our son & partner for a birthday celebration, that was a good decision, great staff, great service, great food & a lovely Chilean wine, all at a reasonable price, the ambience was perfect, we had a really lovely night & it was also very clean and safe, we will definitely return very soon, best meal out for a long tome.
Fantastic food, fantastic venue, music was a bit hit and miss but a fantastic night and highly recommend.
Have been going to The Last for years and was thrilled when they launched a Sunday Lunch offering. Hands down one of the best roasts I’ve had in Norwich, the beef was cooked to perfection and all the trimmings were delicious
Really enjoyed being back at the last, the service was lovely, all covid secure, the food was terrific and the prices were reasonable. There was one very noisy table but that could happen anywhere. Will definitely be back!
Having moved to Norfolk from Dubai after many years and spending the last few months updating our home, we decided to go to nNorwich on public transport and have a nice meal with wine. What a delight The last wine was. Great food, a good selection of wines and the staff were extremely friendly.
I. Would not hesitate to in recommending the Last wine bar to anyone.
My only observation which is not a criticism, is that it would have been nice to see a small offering of fine wines.
Regards,
Paul & Sarah.
This is our second visit since lock down. Food was fabulous as usual and the service great. A bit busier than our first visit which was good to see. One of the best places to eat in Norwich.
The service was friendly and efficient, the wine and food, lovely. Unfortunately the table we were first seated at was cold. We moved near a heater which was better, but the atmosphere never warmed up as we were the only diners in the annexe. it would have been much nicer in the main bar area.
Food was excellent, service was very good and the ambience was cosy and quiet. We had a really nice evening!
Lovely occasion and delightful evening with delicious food and wine.
