The food and service are absolutely great, especially for the price, but the atmosphere, albeit durng the pandemic which would affect custom, it was quiet with no real atmosphere.
Great food and friendly service. Spacing could've been better.
The food and service was outstanding at the Leven Hotel, unfortunately it was greatly let down by people visiting the bar and been allowed to walk through the dining room without any masks on during Covid, the staff and duty manager didn't address or stop anyone entering the bar, we were asked to use the track and trace on entry but not the people using the bar, the duty manager just shrugged his shoulders, there were other diners complaining about the same issue. There must have been at least twenty people walking to and from the bar through a busy dining area without a mask on. To say we were very dissatisfied and disappointed is an understatement, the reason we were there was to find a venue for our upcoming wedding, the reviews on their website and trust pilot were really encouraging, however I would not even return to have another meal or drink let alone book our wedding there when a simple request like ensuring masks are worn during a pandemic are not adhered to. Shame on you Leven Hotel Stokesley, no wonder the pandemic isn't going away when you ignore the government guidelines and you would be the first to moan if you had to Close due to High Covid Levels going into a lock down, I will not be recommending your Hotel to anyone in fact I would advise people to stay away and give you a wide berth.
Food lovely however service was a bit slow but seemed to be short staffed as only 1 waiter & 1 waitress so understandable.
We stayed the night in the hotel it was gorgeous the food was amazing and the service , tony was great we will be back
Good food and service nice restaurant very nice Pinot
We had The Parmo it was delicious. Lovely real chips. Great friendly service.
Excellent quality food at The Leven restaurant with excellent service. Highly recommended.
Food was very nice taking into account the limited menu.
Our only gripe was that we booked a 'dog friendly' hotel with a view to having a couple of drinks in the bar with our dog. Dogs were only allowed in the room
Staff were great, food was lovely, not much atmosphere in the restaurant, it might have been that it was early on a Wednesday evening but only one other couple in. Quite expensive for what you get
Booking was excellent and we received the confirmation and menus via email. However on arrival we wee informed the Al la carte menu was not available on a Tuesday. No one advised us of that when we booked and I couldn't understand why they would send that menu to us on email if it was not available. We chose from the bar menu and the prawn cocktail was very bland. No taste in the prawns and the sauce had no Marie rose flavour at all. We advised the server who said she would inform the chef but we still had to pay for them. The server was very friendly but no sanitizing took place on any of the tables as people came and went during the evening, which we would have expected during this pandemic. I must also say that the chocolate brownie was delicious.
Prawn cocktail was very good lots of prawns mains good apart from mustard sauce on chicken was more a gravy no mustard taste but chicken was really good disappointed when no posset left as we where eating early before 7 but all staff where brilliant
Nice looking surroundings but very busy.
Food tasted re heated, peppercorn sauce was off.
Reminded me of a posher Yates
Took my friend out for her belated birthday. The whole experience at the Leven was excellent. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The ambience was lovely. The food was fantastic, lots to choose from on the pub menu. We were very impressed with the food (Steak, chicken and sticky toffee pudding). Will definitely recommend and return. Thank you.
Great meal. Very well placed safety wise. Fab cost with the Govt scheme. Recommend
A good choice of dishes. We all had the salmon which was beautifully cooked. A good portion size for ladies! Good service.
A lovely place will definitely visit again. Food was excellent
Meal satisfactory without a wow
Young waitress not Au-Fait with complimentary starter.
In rear room that probably caters for large parties with 2 tables taken therefore devoid of atmosphere/ambience
Trust it changes to provide success
Went on a Wednesday for the help out eat out deal. Staff were miserable and very short with you (place wasn't even busy). Food was average nothing special, tried to use the meerkat code as well to save myself a few more bunsen (have used both in many places whilst this deal has been on) and they said due to having the eat out deal on they aren't honouring the meerkat promo as well. All in all poor experience was hoping it would be better after the take over. Seems not.
I’m definitely coming back with my family we really enjoyed our meal and the service.
Thank you.
Great food, hot and good portion sizes. Desserts were also good sized! Excellent service by all staff to us and other diners, they were very kind and attentive to an elderly couple nearby. We booked very late and were in rear room, only 2 tables in use...very quiet, although other areas were busy. Good covid protocols in use. Garden is large for a town centre.
The staff are lovely, very well trained and so enthusiastic for this newly reopened venue to work. Both of the drinks we ordered were unavailable and of the second round the bottled lager was warm. This was swiftly fixed with an ice bucket. The food, however, was amazing. The best halloumi fries going!! Steak, burger and parmo all excellently cooked with copious amounts of triple cooked chips. A power cut (the previous day) was responsible for the lack of cold lager and it was also a very hot evening. Rise above the steep learning curve they are all facing (we also went on an EOTHO day) and enjoy The Leven. We will go again to try the a la carte menu!!
Great menu, all dishes were beautifully presented & delicious, staff were friendly & attentive, they all wore masks. The place was spotlessly clean with hand sanitisers I would certainly recommend a visit.
Average food. Not sure I would be happy if we had paid full price. Pleasant staff but some very uninformed. Sat people very close together in an almost empty restaurant ?
Breakfast was a limited menu unlike what the website stated and was not open to the general public unless booked beforehand. I think it was accommodating for guests who stayed in the hotel. There was no atmosphere and only one person serving so had to wait a while for the food.
Overall the food was ok but would not return .
The Leven was a great place for our 1st wedding anniversary. The team were very welcoming polite and incredibly generous.
All the food was excellent, we weren't rushed and were made very welcome.
I'll definitely be going back for the next anniversary.
Food started good but beef was a bit tasteless, which was a shame but then the meal ended well with desert. It was a bit difficult to understand our waiter due to him wearing a face mask but better safe than sorry..he was happy to repeat things several times...lol
We will be back...
