Took a long time for food to arrive. One of the dishes was missing the meat so they brought it out separately but then it was rock hard. The restaurant ended up giving her a refund at her request.
The restaurant is well signed. It should state that it’s actually located in the holiday inn. When we arrived we were told they didn’t have our booking on the system. So we were they shoved in basically a dark hole away from everyone else. Even though there was plenty of seating where everyone was. The young lad that serviced us to his credit was good and did apologise. But probably wouldn’t return.
We attended The Lobby before a theatre trip and didn't get off to a great start. We arrived and went to the lobby bar and enquired if we were in the right place, I informed the waiter we had a table booked, he sent us to the main reception, who told us to go to the bar I had just come from. I explained the problem and reception staff found us someone who could assist, and we were told to just take a seat anywhere.
The Lobby is quite self-explanatory, its the lobby of the Hotel and is clean and well presented. We asked the same waiter where the Ladies lavatory was and my wife was directed to a locked keypad entry door, we asked another lady and she was directed upstairs. The Lobby seems to be a meeting place for loud business meetings, and when four business people sat in the adjoining booth it became rather uncomfortable, we had a two-course meal with drinks, they had 4 coffees and we had to sit through a rather boring, loud finance meeting. The meal was well cooked and well presented but we had to find someone to ask for another drink, and at no point did anyone ask if the meal was okay. I had to find someone when we had finished our meal to inquire how to pay. ( you have to pay at the till) So all in all, we are attending the theatre again soon and will find another place to eat.
The menu on OpenTable is not at all what they sell. Their location is also >200m from the map, and the restaurant had absolutely no idea about the reservation.
The prices that remained were very expensive, not only for the area but also the value.
It was basically just a hotel restaurant. Staff over attentive but didn't actually serve very quickly. Cheesecake was disgusting- not a Cheesecake. More like cheap Strawberry mousse balanced on a digestive.
Prices weren't cheap either. £50 not well spent. Total waste of money.
Really wonderful cocktails and the value for money is amazing. Sophisticated!
