The Lobo
Inspired by Julio Lobo, the last Cuban sugar baron, we are a stylish and charming bar that is all about rum, good vibes, high-quality cocktails, and moreish small bites inspired by Cuban, Central and South American cuisines.
Tucked away on Clarence Street in the CBD, you’ll find The Lobo located in a basement where the cocktails are creative, fresh and mostly rum-based. Our rum selection is 300-bottles strong and the menu goes perfectly alongside.
If all this sounds up your alley, grab your crew and head to The Lobo. It’s a cosy and intimate spot though, so reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment.

Great looking interiors and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The music was too loud for 6pm though - as there's no dancing a more lounge bar vibe would have suited us
An interesting venue with good ambience. The drinks are very rum focussed and there isn’t a big variety - but that is by design, being a rum venue. Overall, the empanadas were pretty average. The drinks were good but not overly memorable. It’s a solid 3/5 place that I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to recommend.
Great drinks great empanadas (bit of a delay with the empanadas but that's alright) obviously not the cheapest bar, but everything was wonderful overall

Hi Team, one thing I will mention is that the service was very slow. It took about 15 minutes from when we ordered to receive the drinks. I understand it does take longer for cocktails, but we only ordered two out of the five drinks we ordered . Also given how quiet it was, would say the bar was only 50% full at the time, the speed of the service wasnt good enough.

Great vibes, beautiful decor, fun staff with great service and a smile, and surprisingly good food for a small bites menu. Highly recommend for special occasions. Great cocktails!
Great service, staff couldn't do enough for us. Cocktails were excellent. All of my mates had a great time including those who'd never usually set foot in a place as nice as this.
Wanted somewhere special with a good vibe for a pretreated drink and meal and this little bar was exactly right. Great ambiance very attentive service and the best cocktails I’ve ever had made with a bit of theatre lighting the cinnamon stick for their signature spicy rum cocktail. Food was very tasty but portions a bit on the small side. Would definitely recommend this bar.

I chose Lobo for a weeknight catch up with two work friends because I knew it would be atmospheric and casual. This was a great decision after previously visiting Lobo on a crowded saturday night. The cocktails were delicious, with excellent friendly bar staff who made us feel welcomed but I'm afraid the food didn't meet the same standard. We were most disappointed by the size of the portion of the chicken wings that did not reflect the price. Otherwise a marvelous evening.

Lobo Plantation is a wonderful place for people to gather together and enjoy a variety of wonderful cocktails. I have taken plenty of people there because the staff treat you warmly and with respect.
The drinks may be a little pricey but the quality of the drink and the service makes it all worth it. This is a place you bring friends or a hot date to. the atmosphere is so distinct you feel like you are being swept away to another world like Alice travelling to wonderland.
You have not tried a properly made cocktail till you have been to Lobo Plantation. From sweet passionfruit drinks to the tastiest of rum cocktails, there is something for everyone.
The only thing I would suggest is that the sound be turned down, it makes it difficult to communicate with a group when the music is too loud. HAving said thaat, they play some beautiful music that you just have to listen to! I will be returning to Lobos soon!
Everything was wonderful as per usual, I have been here approxiamately 5 times the past 6 months and every time i have been amazed at the high level of friendly service. I came on Saturday to celebrate a friends 21st and the waitress *clearly on a trial i hope* I found to be very dissapointing, did not serve our booked table for 15minutes and we were the only table in the service area!
