The Locksbrook Inn
We pride ourselves on our fresh, locally sourced ingredients, creating some of the best modern British pub dining in Bath
We are open every day for drinks, brunch, coffee, lunch, evening meals and grazing in between
Food was great but there was a mix-up with our order and half of the people had already finished eating by the time the other people's food arrived.
The pub has a lovely beer garden for sunny days by the river and I would recommend a visit for a drink but may not eat there again.
The food was incredible. We did want to eat outside but due to a technical error we couldn't. The staff were not the politest in communicating this when I asked for clarification of why we couldn't sit outside.
Great food, great staff, would recommend highly, well done guys
Food was good. There needs to be a bit more of a variety of choice on lunch menus.
I needed to postpone the booking for half an hour which was no problem. So we booked for 7pm. There was only 1 beef left and they very kindly split that with roast chicken between us. However the food was lukewarm and we didn't get a lot! When we paid the bill it was lucky for us that we checked it. We were charged for 2 bottles of wine. I wouldn't say we won't go back but there are many other restaurants in Bath that we would choose to go to first.
A really lovely riverside pub with fantastic atmosphere and really good food.
All ok Friendly staff & nice food. The piped music was a bit loud.
Sunday roast cold. Potatoes, meat, Yorkshire.
The only thing that was hot was the spring greens. The roast tasted lovely but it was so cold, so obv not liked. They did refund one of the mains to compensate but unfortunately we won’t be back again.
We had a bad experience the prev time we went. Food awful, it turned out the chef had left early and the lady manager did own up and said she’d had a nightmare and she took over and did the roasts. Would have been best if she’d have told custs that the kitchen was closed, this was last year but didn’t see that lady this time, two men were working so I’m not sure if under new management.
Sorry, we won’t be back, shame as meal tasted ok although cold.
Found this pub on a recommendation as it is a bit out of the way. Very friendly service and good pub food. It benefits from a great outdoor space on the riverside. Small bar with lots of great beers and bigger restaurant space.
The food was great however we found service went rapidly downhill once we received our mains. Until that point it had been excellent however we sat with empty plates in front of us for 20mins and then (still with the empty plates) had to go up and ask for the bill and then had to go up again to pay as no one seemed bothered. Had we have wanted desert then we would have been more annoyed. They weren’t busy either so no excuse for the poor service at the end
Staff were very polite, but didn’t concentrate when taking orders so made a few errors.
Top food would recommend great service
Will definitely return
We got the table on Mothers day at 7.30pm...thinking they may have run out /everything over ooked etc but NO!! Honestly the best roast beef meal for a very long time served by smiley professional staff.
A fantastic treat.
Definitely worth a visit. We read some bad reviews before we visited but really glad we gave it a shot.
Would visit again.
Slightly disappointed by our last visit to the Locksbrook and wonder if it becoming a victim of its own success.
We've had really lovely meals there before but this time just felt all too 'safe'. The menu was pretty uninspiring. I expect to see fish and chips and burgers but would have liked for there to be something a little different too. The standard of the food was OK but nothing to make me want to rush back.
The waitress was lovely but she was managing the floor on her own which meant that it took a while for us to get our order in. There was also confusion as we'd ordered 2 starters instead of a main (told you I was uninsprired!) and asked for these to come out with the other mains. They didn't. They came out as starters so were sent back only for the exact plates to come out with the mains 10 minutes later. OK for the salad, but the squid was then tepid and soggy. I had to ask for it to be replaced.
Still love the beer garden and the location by the canal but will not be having a family meal there again. Will stick to chips / pizza with my beer rather than having a sit down meal. Shame as it's close to home.
Great food and waitress worked really hard to accommodate everyone.
Limited staff available for the bar and restraunt.
After receiving numerous reminders emails from you we were disappointed to arrive and for the venue to have no record of our booking!!!!
This was not our first visit to the Locksbrook and I had high expectations - however, on this occasion, we did not enjoy our experience. Service was extremely slow - we had to wait an hour for our food to arrive, and when it did arrive it was mediocre! The veg wasn't great and overall the meal was dissatisfying after our long wait. The ambience wasn't as good as usual either, the waitresses seemed quite flustered, spilled drinks, and a number of tables around us had already complained, with one table actually leaving before their food had arrived and paid only for their drinks.
Overall, unfortunately I wouldn't recommend - I think the Locksbrook had tried to cater for too many people on this particular Sunday and as a result the service and food was poor and not worth the money!
The meal was very good, as was the desserts. The day we had our meal it was very busy and quite noisy but not overly so. The staff were very good and we would certainly be going again.
Great venue and would recommend a visit. Good food and great local beer. Great staff. We will visit again.
Very good food (Sunday Roast) but service was slow and inattentive. Also, even there were only 4 options on the Sunday Toast menu, one of the options (the one we wanted) was unavailable
Over priced with small portions. The worst combination.
Me and my Partner come here for a birthday meal, it was lovely, not to many people were there the day we came but that’s how we like it. The staff were very friendly, and I would definitely come back here again. The food was yummy, the only thing we would say was the warm chocolate brownie and ice cream, the brownie was a little dry so would of preferred another scoop of ice cream. But apart from that. It was great. I’m glad I picked here for my birthday meal.
Never fails to deliver, always a good evening out with good food and service !
Thank you so much for a lovely treat of supper out to celebrate my recent return to work after nearly a year off sick...pretty exhausted.
You had such a busy shift but very personal and friendly with great food .Thanks.
Food was great, lovely decor. Can't wait to return in summer. Good value. Friendly staff
Nice to see the pub refurbished and offering a different experience. It was a pleasant surprise and lived up to the positive reports I had heard about The Locksbrook Inn. I would definitely return for a pleasant drink as well as a meal.
The food here is good, but we have been a number of times and the service is always really poor. Never enough staff working in the restaurant or the bar.
Booked a lunch for a Friday lunchtime through the website. Was pleasantly surprised n first impressions. Attractive bar area with various cosy areas and a lovely dining room area. Our request for a table near the window was given, looking out onto the riverside area. A very relaxed atmosphere but with efficient, friendly staff. Food was fresh and very tasty with no one rushing you. Looking forward to another visit here!
Despite having visited the Locksbrook Inn on several other occasions in the past and being happy with the level of service, unfortunately this time we were left very disappointed.
Having booked a week in advance, for my 60th birthday,we all ordered the roast dinner.
Despite a choice of meats, only the beef was left (at 7pm) So,we ordered this and our two vegetarian daughters ordered the nut roast. When the meals arrived, despite the menu listing a delicious variety of vegetables, we were served with just potatoes, red cabbage and greens. We asked where the carrot and swede mash, honey roast parsnips, etc. were, and we were told rather rudely with a shrug of the shoulders, that they had run out of vegetables (and meat). This was not explained to us before we ordered.
We asked what could be done to resolve this and were told we could have more greens!
As this was a meal and not a carvery, and cost £16.00 per head, I at least expected to have the same meal as the one listed on the menu, or be offered a discount.
Not only was this not offered, but the waiter was disinterested and very unhelpful.
No wonder the place was virtually empty.
We will definitely not be returning!!
Good food, great choice of drinks. Comfy booths or tables for larger groups.
Ambience good staff very friendly and food excellent would definitely recommend this pub
Went for Sunday roast, pork belly was amazing and plentiful.
Sunday roast was really good, but the service was poor (forgetful waiters and a general lack of communication), and we were seated in a less appealing area of the restaurant, which had 7 prams taking up the walking space.
Very nice staff, good food and lovely atmosphere, nice location, we was a bit early for our table but staff managed to accommodate us, also loved the fact it was dog friendly in the bar and restaurant
Our second visit to the Locksbrook (the first being in the summer following a bike ride from Bristol along the cycle path). Such a great place, from the warm and attentive welcoming staff to the lovely food; everything was perfect and we are looking forward to our next visit!
We went on a very quiet Tuesday night. Although two of our 3 main courses were lovely the third, a risotto was really undercooked. We did tell the waitress and she said she'd let the chef know but there was no feedback. Also, we waited ages for our drinks to arrive and had to ask again for them- this is often the case in this place. I'm not sure I'll go back again as it's just never quite right.
Great fish and chips, excellent friendly service and lovely surroundings.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, service was prompt, food was good. We were there on a Monday lunchtime so a a bit quieter than usuall.
Great for a family meal - good range of menu selections to suit everyone!
