Worth the short walk from the town centre for a lovely meal.
Amazing meat sharing starters and roast beef, perfect Sunday pub
Beautiful setting & lovely pub/restaurant. Food hot, well severed. We will be back.
Delicious roast on a Sunday. Staff really friendly and efficient
Fantastic service and food to match. Staff were very attentive and managed all the new restrictions well.
Lovely atmosphere , great menu choice and fabulous location
Lovely pub and garden (at the back) with plenty of space, excellent cleanliness and Covid measures in place, and lovely choice of food. Well presented tasty food and good service. Don't be put off by the front of the pub - it doesn't look too promising from that aspect, but once you are inside or in the back garden, it is a gem.
Very lovely meal as always, very accommodating of our two huge dogs! We went for Sunday lunch and it was packed as always. Service was really fast considering how busy it was & very tasty food. Would highly recommend the vegetarian wellington if you can get in on a Sunday. Perfect way to end summer.
Lovely place, lovely food, great service.
Sunday lunch, well prepared and all served up plated, perhaps could have had more vegetables.
Sticky toffee pud with salted caramel ice cream- best ever!
Guaranteed lovely tasty food and quick service. Wonderful!
Excellent setting and lovely and accommodating staff. Great place. The food was delicious, so good.
The ambience is amazing. The staff are excellent, attentive and friendly. But the food surpassed everything, the chef/‘s are top class. The best falafel I have ever eaten.
We had to wait a long time to be seated but other than that we had a great evening. Lovely food, spacious venue and not too expensive. Our dog loved it too!
Very friendly outside service, good ambience and food.
Fabulous food, good vale drinks in the most unexpected of locations. A warm balmy September evening sat by the river watching the world go by.
A very pleasant Gastro Pub to visit on a sunny day. We visited on a Sunday and while only one of our party (4) chose to have a traditional roast as their main course, which was fab, the others all chose individual dishes. All excellent, all tasty. Staff were good and each one we met made our visit feel safe and secure with all tables being cleaned and disinfected between patrons. The wine list was eclectic and reasonably priced. Overall we've got nothing negative to say and we hope to be back in Bath soon for another visit.
Great stop for lunch and a couple of beers in the sunshine on the terrace
We were disappointed with the quality of the food. We were also asked 3 times of we had finished with our food whilst still eating ... felt rushed and not welcome.
I love that the staff all were masks. I wish all restaurants did. This is our second time there since pubs reopened as feel perfectly safe there even eating inside.
Came here for the other half's birthday with the kids. Nicely ventilated and spacious. More food than we can eat and good value.
Great food, great friendly environment, nice bike ride from Yate to this pub!
The view outside was lovely and peaceful. The food was fantastic and good selection of beers.
Excellent food and service
Management and staff were very helpful and friendly , the best pub food I have had in many years .
Buzzing and vibrant outside area and bar beside the river. Quieter restaurant area. Staff plentiful and helpful. Very good food - English bistro style as well as pizzas ranging up to about £22 for a steak (which was cooked as required). Perfect for a relaxed meal with friends and children welcome.
After sharing the meat platter (selection of salamis, delicious ham hock terrine, sourdough toast, slaw, olives), my companion chose the fish and chips which she deemed excellent and copious, and I went for the sea bass which was cooked with olives et al - not usually keen on olives in cooking, but this has converted me. The Locksbrook is consistently excellent.
Very good squid starter and enjoyed poussin main course. Glad I didn’t have falafel starter as sauce was hot and spicy but husband enjoyed it. Gammon eggs & chips main course looked and tasted good.
Asked if wanted to sit outside or inside and we choose inside, both seating areas were popular but well managed with space between tables. All the staff we met were wearing masks and kept their distance but at the same time ensured we were happy with our choices.
Covid definitely has an impact on businesses but I fail to see how that can excuse the level of service on my latest visit.
- No roasts on a Sunday
- Mains arrived 1 hour after initial seating
- Dirty glasses
- I felt unwell all night after eating here, while this could be unrelated I wasn't impressed with the level of hygiene.
The staff are nice and we had no concerns there, we even tipped, but something has clearly taken a turn for the worst. It's a shame because there is so much potential and I was really hoping for an experience worthy of the price charged.
The pub is lovely and I can see why it attracts people, they just need to get their act together and start delivering the service customers come here for. I'm in no doubt that this is a blip on a historically clean record, and I look forward to returning when the service resembles its reputation.
Friendly, courteous staff. Good location by the river. Well organised for the covid 19 situation. Will return.
Managed to get a table on the same day for Sunday dinner, with our dog. Had squid for starters, absolutely delicious, chicken Sunday roast x 2 for mains, no room for dessert. Roast was gorgeous and healthy portions, not like some places!. Staff lovely too. Thoroughly recommend.
Excellent Sunday roast lunch pork was delicious with plenty of veg and roast potatoes partner had the fish with its crispy batter and beautiful white fish. Had starters of crispy squid and ham hock terrine which were delicious also. Great service and adherence to Covid rules throughout visit. Would definitely recommend.
Food was tasty, excellent.
I had to wait ages for a drink after being seated. I would also like to have known in advance that our table was rebooked , rather than feeling rushed when told after
eating. Service generally pleasant and polite, if a little slow.
I felt the ambience was lacking but realise it is is difficult at the moment with distancing.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The vegan menu was good, and wee were given lots of space to enjoy our meal.
Would go here for the Gamma Ray beer alone! 😀👍🍺
Delicious food, service was a little slower than usual burger didn’t stop us enjoying our time with you
Great evening, good all round. Just be careful to state any dietary requirements to the waiting staff, and then double check when your food arrives in case of any miscommunication.
Good service. Food a bit basic for the amount paid. Value only because of Eat Out deal.
The Locksbrook is fast becoming our hostelry of choice. Good menu, good vale and great service.
Love the atmosphere and laid back vibe. Food always good but took friends and disappointing. Not enough staff on for a busy bank holiday with “ eat out to help out”. Waited too long for food and drinks
We found this restaurant very disappointing. As part of the trio Hare and Hounds, Marlborough Tavern and the Locksbrook this one is not up to the same standard as the others. Same price though!
Usually love this pub - it was a bank holidays Sunday however it was only 530 pm and there was no pork, chicken roast, no Yorkshire puddings, no cauliflower cheese, asked to move - people did cancel in end, even though there were lots of empty tables, disappointing as I recommended to friends to go there.
