Traditional Sticky Toffee Pudding & Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Limited menu, but plentiful and well cooked. Drinks delivered in an odd fashion because slightly unusual order. Pleasant and helpful staff throughout
Food was excellent. But Waited an hour for it
Lovely squid ,service a little haphazard but nothing serious ,glad we ate outside under cover as inside looks pretty bleak but it is being refurbished so all in all not bad
I always enjoy a meal here. Location is great with a large covered outdoor area and large airy indoor dining room. Very good service, good pub food.
Great food and service, a bit pricey for what we had, very noisy due to a barking dog but would definitely visit agai
The pub is nice but was under going some refurbishment work when we visited. Sunday dinner underwhelming. Tepid food and roast potatoes tasted reheated. ? More staff needed
The food was slightly cold but otherwise it was a great evening!
Great staff... great food...always a pleasure visiting
Amazing food ( the Rum, Lime & Min Cheesecake was insane!!) but the service was a little slow.
Visited here for the first time on Sunday 6th June and will most certainly return. The service was brilliant, social distancing rules in place and adhered to and the food was delicious. Thank you.
Stunning location and a service team that makes you feel very welcome
Friendly staff & great service (especially as they were busy), thank you.
Great food and good service in a beautiful garden.
I always enjoy the Locksbrook. It has a fabulous garden area by the river. I’ve always had good food and friendly service.
Really easy experience, checking in, ordering, paying etc.
Lovely breakfast, great coffee.
Good food, friendly efficient service. I would thoroughly recommend.
My daughters fish stew was cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. My wife had the fish and chips and not all the chips were well cooked. I had the schnitzel which was excellent. We had the Veg platter as a starter which was lovely. Overall I was dis appointed this time as we have many meals with you in the past, which have been delightful. I would think twice before ordering the stew or the fish and chips again.
We ordered a smoothy for our daughter which never arrived, I enquired about it twice and each time was told that they would look into it and get back too us, but nobody ever did and when we got the bill we had been charged for the smoothy, they did take it off without hesitation when it was ponted out that we never received it. The food was really good and the staff was very friendly but there was more staff outside than in and it was difficult to get sombodys attention. Othere wise I would definitely go again.
Service was not great food missing when it was put on our table and nearly finished the meal when it turned up
Lovely lunch - very good pub food! Great location by the canal as well.
Food pretty standard, but tasteless
Ambience was the best thing about pub
Pitty we asked for drinks that had run out
Staff were busy and helpful
Young lad that served us was very polite
Food tasted ok but wasn't exactly hot. Also no explanation on how the meat is cooked
Food was pretty good although we had to wait for quite a while, seems like they need to get back to full ems wing post lock down. Staff very friendly and the facility was full of character. Overall not a bad experience.
Dreadful. I’d never go back. Service was awful. Waited ages for drinks and food. Food arrived but waited another 10 minutes for cutlery.
Lovely Sunday roast, very good staff. Weather to match!
A lovely setting right by the canal. The food was typical 'pub grub', and was great. The service was very slow though. It was a busy Sunday, lovely weather and all the tables looked full outside, and we had to wait quite a while for our drinks to arrive, then another wait for wine glasses. The main courses came while we were still eating our starters, then 1 person in the party had to wait another 4-5 minutes for their main meal to arrive. That said, there was a lovey ambience, and a very family friendly pub.
Great meal sat in the sun food was lovely highly recommend
Good food, good staff, good value for money. Nice ambiance. Would definitely go again.
Lovely breakfast with a beautiful view. The service was friendly and great, and the eggs royal tasteful. Perfect way to start your day!
Great ambience by the canal, nice decor
Very friendly welcome and efficient check-in
Very personable, friendly and efficient service by team of staff
Delicious food, good portions, great choice for vegans and vegetarians too
Well done and thank you!
Even though we had a table booked we still had to queue outside but this was nothing major as the place was very busy. This aside it was a great evening
Slightly limited menu, but didn't spoil what was overall a great evening at the Locksbrook.
Good exterior space with a friendly buzz, excellent, interesting food and very good staff.
A really good place to eat with friends or on your own.
The visit was good but not great. Food was fairly standard pub grub, nothing special. The service was OK but it took us some time to attract someone's attention to pay the bill. Background music was a bit on the loud side. Not as good an experience as we have had in the past at the Locksbrook, but still OK.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Amazing food and quick service. Will be returning very soon!
Thank you for your kind words!
This was a planned lunch date for 3. We booked inside but as nice weather moved with no problem outside. Staff were attentive.....perhaps too attentive as we were asked by 3 separate people if we wanted to order a drink while we waited for a friend. 🙂. We ordered starters to share and they were tasty. Bit hit and miss with the order things came out in. I.e. food before cutlery ....
Breakfast is over priced for what you get poor size
Service was excellent very friendly and relaxed, all staff mindful of Covid19 guidelines but did not make guidelines make it feel intrusive.
Food was served fast and portion size was excellent value for money. Whole evening was enjoyable and relaxing
Fabulous fish and chips and a lovely brownie with ice cream to finish 😋
We are so glad you enjoyed!
We've been to the Lockbrook multiple times before for drinks as it has a lovely location by the canal. Unfortunately this time we were eating and it did not live up to the expectation. The roasts were largely disappointing (apart from the meat which was superb) but had to wait over 10 minutes for gravy by which time our food was largely cold. One person ordered fish and chips and was unable to eat it due to being raw in the centre.
Lovely pub, hopefully when we go back next time it will be back to its normal higher standards, think we were just unlucky with how busy it was on the day!
Hi George, we are so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the food you received on Sunday. We have passed on your feedback to the kitchen and hope that you revisit allowing us to give you a 10/10 experience. If you ever not 100% happy please do let us know and we will try our hardest to resolve the solution. We hope to see you soon, Locksbrook Team
