The Lodge Kitchen and Bar
Excellent service. Food very nice. Good options for gluten free.
Simple meals prepared freshly and quite quickly. Nice food. Friendly and helpful team of staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal on Friday night. The food and surrounding were lovely.
I was very disappointed indeed . It was my birthday and my meal arrived 10 minutes after my family / friends received there’s . There was also a problem with the bill which included items we did not have .
Very disappointing and spoilt the night .
Would recommend this restaurant, food beautifully cooked and nicely presented. Staff friendly and courteous.
Food is good but menu hasn't altered much in a while. The portions of chips are far too big for most people. I noticed quite a few other folk left a lot of chips. We were 3 people and ate the equivalent of one of our portions of chips which was plenty of food. Why not offer diners a choice of a large or smaller portion, same price. It is shameful to waste that amount of food.
We had a lovely two course meal here main and dessert on 15/08/19. The service was good and the burger and chips I had were amazing as was my husbands fish and chips we would definitely recommend eating here it was also very good value for money my only gripe was that the seats were uncomfortable.
Delicious food. Good sized portions. Reasonably priced.
Excellent service and food was great large portion sizes
There was an alarm making a constant noise the whole time we were there which was a bit distracting but otherwise a lovely meal, I would recommend and visit again.
Lodge was lovely. Unfortunately due to shortage of staff, service was very slow but overall very nice. A couple of miscommunications with staff - asked which beer was on draught and given wrong information meaning that beer given was bottled not draught.
Food was excellent, lovely place to eat while at Portavadie.
Stayed at Portavadie Resort for two nights and ate in the Lodge Kitchen for dinner both nights. Excellent food and service both nights.
Great choices on the menu. Excellent food quality and fantastic settinge. Service was very good, wine good price and staff friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn't fault anything!
Food was lovely served hot and service was quick . No atmosphere in lodge kitchen bit like a cafe
The service was poor, with the waitress not even saying hello as she came to our table. When I asked about the fish options on the chef's platter, she just said she didn't know and needed prompted to go and find out.
The food was ok but definitely not worth the money. The seafood that came with the chefs platter was dry. I would have expected more from such a highly respected venue.
We were also placed at a table which was very closely placed next to a door at the back of the restaurant. People kept coming in and out of the door and brushing by us as they came into the restaurant. It just wasn't appropriate or comfortable to be sitting so close to the door.
Fantastic setting and food and service all highly recommended
Food was delicious and the choice of starters, mains and desserts were excellent..
My parents went to the restaurant and mentioned that it exceeded all expectations. They said the details in the menu don’t do the food justice and will definitely be back when they next visit Portavadie
The food was excellent. All the food came out piping hot and very well presented. The beef blade was very tender and crumbled on my fork - extremely tasty. The restaurant was very quiet which I enjoyed. Overall, we had an excellent meal and we found it was great value for money. The only downside for me was that there were no cocktails served on the menu.
Exceeded expectations. Great food, staff friendly and professional.
Fantastic food nice quiet setting and great service at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit.
Lacking a bit of atmosphere but overall food good and service was spot on.
Could of put fire on to give it more of an atmosphere and more welcoming especially as there was horrible weather.
Delicious food but in need of some nicer chairs & tables to finish it off
Food service and ambience all amazing. Huge portions however one of the party made room for sticky toffee pudding and was not disappointed. One of the best he’s ever tasted and there’s been a lot over the years.
Would recommend to anyone staying at Portavadie Spa and we plan to return.
Had a meal on both nights of our stay at Lodge Kitchen and bar and really enjoyed the food. There was a good variety of dishes and ample food when it came. The staff were very attentive and friendly and helpful with recommending dishes. The atmosphere was very cosy with nice soft seating to enjoy a drink before or after the meal.
We have eaten here before and enjoyed the experience but on this occasion (weekend before Christmas) it was a bit slow on the service although very attentive when it was our turn. They are very good with children. Personally I found my meal poor...Battered fish was not crispy and pea mash? was tasteless. Staff are very friendly though. Overall the meal seemed pricey but averaged out about £30 per head for 2 courses, (also 3 bottles of wine). Bear in mind though that there were 3 children under 7 years of age included in the nine of us.
Staff very efficient and friendly and food was excellent and served very quickly
Food ok, limited choice of wine by the glass. Plenty options on the menu but felt a lack of atmosphere.
Good food good service and good selection on display, average wine menu, very quiet dinning area
Lovely staff great service nice food, very relaxed atmosphere
Lovely cosy atmosphere, fantastic service and good pub food
Very average food, for such a stunning location really disappointing. Service slow even though very quiet night, and little things just let it down.
After being very disappointed by the Marina restaurant (overpriced, noisy, poor service) the Lodge came as a lovely surprise. Attentive, helpful staff; good food served well; quiet, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Half the price of the restaurant and twice as good. Definitely recommended.
We came to stay in Portavadie to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday and decided to eat at the Lodge restaurant one night. Booking by OPEN TABLE was simple, even for me. There was a very comprehensive menu with good choices and the food was also very good. However the cherry on the cake was the staff. What a wonderful helpful and cheery team. Well done, the teamleader, you have a team to be proud of, especially as they all appeared to be enjoying their work.
Interesting to note that one of our group was a cousin from Canada, who is used to fine dining , and she was also impressed by our whole Lodge Restaurant experience.
Lovely meal quick service friendly staff will definitely return.
Disappointing, we were celebrating a special occasion and it didn't match up to our expectations. Very casual dining area which was more reminiscent of a cafe . Service not great but decent enough food and good value. Went outside to make a call and got eaten alive by midges !
I would say the food is nice enough but a bit too expensive for what you get. It was nearly £14 just for a burger. There is not much selection either so you are limited to what you can have.
The food was excellent and the staff very attentive.
Limited selection of draught beer and choice of wine.
Decent food at decent prices. Could do with more waiting staff one member run off his feet and 2 other staff more interested in chatting to each other.
