The Log Cabin
We hope to see you soon!
Food and service were excellent! It was our anniversary. There were flowers in the table that they gave us to take home. The only negative thing was the noise level. There was a singer in the lounge area, and he was way too loud for the space
We were seated next to a very boisterous group of four. When I commented to the hostess, she said they were leaving soon. Not so. They had just sat down. And, there were five other open tables in the room. I would have waited for one to be set. Our server was excellent! She had taken care of us last year. Three stars for service was not about her but because we waited 45 minutes for our entrees! We both had the escargots special appetizers which were amazing. I had the chicken with mushrooms and it was incredibly salty. If I hadn’t waited 45 minutes to get it, I would’ve sent it back. We have been here several times but next year when we visit the area we will give this a pass do to overall issues.
A very enjoyable dining experience.
My husband and I enjoy a delicious meal at a fantastic restaurant. It was our first time there and would definitely go back. Staff was very friendly and service was excellent.
This was our first visit to The Log Cabin. We will definitely return!
It was our 25th wedding anniversary.
We were at the Log Cabin for dessert and to enjoy the music of Swing Street. It was a lovely evening. The cheesecake and house made mango sorbet were exquisite! The music delightful. And, the atmosphere and service were spot on. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Bar is absolutely gorgeous and the drinks start the evening off right. Waitress upstairs was phenomenal. Salads were fresh, bread was warm, and the entrees were outstanding. No room for dessert, but we will be back!
We celebrated our 50th anniversary.
Truly enjoyed our evening at The Log Cabin. The service and food were great and they made a birthday celebration special. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
The food was outstanding. Drinks were perfect and we loved the gable table
We always enjoy dinner at the Log Cabin! The atmosphere is refined but comfortable and the food always pleases. We have found the pacing of service to be a little slow the last 2 times we ate there, but that didn’t really dampen our enjoyment. Definitely a great place for a special celebration.
From the time we entered the front door we felt like family.
The food was delicious and Gabrielle was fun and a great server.
We loved it for brunch and cannot wait to go back for dinner.
We were visiting the Lancaster area for the weekend and searched for a restaurant with good food and great reviews. The Log Cabin Restaurant seemed to hit all the marks on Yelp.
I would consider ourselves to be 'foodies' and somehow know if a restaurant is worth the drive and money when we walk in.
This restaurant is perfect if you want a very relaxing, cozy, beautiful country environment. The place smelled heavenly upon arrival. The staff was very welcoming from the second we walked in the door until the minute we left.
The wait staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. We shared a caprese salad which was so good. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and scrumptious. The coffee rubbed ribeye was just so-so for my taste. I was expecting a much more tender piece of beef.
I overheard several other patrons complimenting their meals, especially the chicken and the salmon oscar.
The prices are average for fine dining, although the steak was more on the expensive side.
We live 90 minutes away, but we will be back. It is well worth the drive.
We love dining at The Log Cabin. This was our 4th time, and our friend's first time. We will be back twice in December. Dining with friends, and with our dinner club. Always a wonderful experience.
Outstanding flavors in the food we ordered - would absolutely take clients here again!
A worthwhile "special occasion" restaurant. Such a pleasant change from the noisy, common food,
"chain restaurants". From start to finish, thoroughly enjoyable. Lovely ambiance, delicious food, served by an attentive but not intrusive waitstaff.
We had a very enjoyable dinner. Everything was prepared perfectly from appetizer through desert. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and gave us a few recommendations.
We look forward to our next visit.
Thanks for a great night!
We've been here many times over the years for dinner but it was first time for brunch. We sat on the porch looking out over the gardens and it was so beautiful and peaceful. Our meals were outstanding - french onion soup, salmon omelet, and the to-die-for Lobster Benedict. Delicious coffee and great service for under $50.
Great experience and would definitely recommend to others.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner. Highly recommend the calamari and pork shank.
* Beautiful, unique and most delicious and delightful dining experience. Very thoughtful and wide-ranging menu... makes you want to try everything! Servers very friendly and helpful. The Log Cabin is a lovely oasis ...just slightly off the beaten path and what a delight getting there. A historical gem that remains lovingly preserved and maintained. Highly recommend!
We had a reservation at 7:30 PM and had requested a table on the patio. The (older) hostess wanted to seat us right next to a very loud party of 12 - even though there were five other unoccupied tables on the patio. When I asked her if we could be seated at one of those other tables because an 80 year old member of our party was hard of hearing, she told me we either had to sit at that table or go inside. When I pointed out the other empty tables on the patio - three of which were not right next to the large, very loud party - the hostess responded rudely and impatiently, saying there were other reservations and tables had already been assigned. Finally a younger hostess intervened and told us of course we could be seated at another table on the patio. Once we were seated, I then asked the older hostess if she could turn the music down a bit (again to facilitate the hearing of the older member of our party) and she said no, she could not adjust the volume and left. People at the table next to ours heard this exchange and told us they, too, had been treated rudely by the same hostess when she tried to seat them at the same table where she tried to seat us (right next to the party of 12), and they, too, had requested a different table. How disappointing and upsetting to be greeted at your beautiful restaurant by such a rude and difficult hostess! Fortunately our server (Laurie) was wonderful - she turned the music down for us and provided excellent service all evening. The older hostess did return at one point to say she was sorry that she didn't know the volume of the music could be adjusted - but she did not apologize for her rude behavior. Please note: All but one of the four empty tables on the patio were still unoccupied when we left at 9:30.
The Log Cabin has become the #1 place for special occasions as well as those times when we want to feel pampered and appreciated while we enjoy great food prepared and served without being rushed.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. Our server Lisa was a delight and pleasure. The food was superb
Very nice setting. I haven’t been here in years. My server did an excellent job. A helper brought our cheese tray and normally they explain the different types of cheese, but she just set it down and left. We had to wait to ask our Server what types of cheese were on the plate.
We ordered the tiny desserts and none were really that tasty. They looked great.
The atmosphere of this place is wonderful. The service was excellent. Each part of our dinner was well spaced and we did not feel rushed in anyway. Our server was excellent. She was courteous, professional and engaged with our party of four nicely. The steak was out of this world! Some of us added the brussel sprouts vegetable and we highly recommend it to anyone who loves brussel sprouts.
Overall it was a wonderful dining experience and all four of us would highly recommend it to everyone.
Normally I would say yes, we have eaten there many times. This was unusual and disappointing. While my husband's steak was good, my Salmon Oscar was only warm by the time it got to the table. Service was slow and several items were mixed up. We asked for bread twice, were told fresh bread was coming out of the oven - definitely not 'fresh' bread. Asked for sparkling water, was given spring water. Never came back to ask if we would like a second glass of wine/cocktail. Baby iceburg salad was a wedge salad - please call it what it is. Asked for regular coffee, delivered decaf - at least they announced that before it was laid on the table and we were then given the correct beverage.
Noise level was high when we arrived. A half hour or so later the 'noisy table' departed, and so the noise level was very satisfactory. Service was excellent, as was the food we were served. Some prices are a bit high, but were to be expected considering the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant.
We had a large group and we were seated comfortably with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. The wait staff did a great job bringing out the course and not rushing us through the evening. The food was excellent and we all had a good time.
The noise level was quiet. The indicator deviated from the star system so it wasn’t clear if the larger block meant more noise or more satisfaction with the noise level.
Overall, it was an excellent experience in a quiet, relaxing setting with great ambiance.
Off the main road very nice historic building the food was fantastic.
We love this restaurant and their jazz musicians. Always a delightful evening!
First time enjoying your restaurant with another couple. We all loved the wonderful food and Lisa, our server, was excellent!
One of the best dinners we have had in Lancaster. While, the chef is not recreating the wheel with the menu, the choices are carefully chosen and cover a good breadth. And, tho the food is not “cutting edge”, the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and prepared with considerable care. There are also nice touches such as roasted wild mushrooms that are not often found as a side dish.
Also, from our greeting at the door, through dinner service, the staff was very professional. The live piano music was an added bonus. Overall, a lovely, lovely meal.
Celebrated my sister's birthday at the Log Cabin. There was a birthday card and flowers on the table when we arrived. Very nice touch. Our waitress was welcoming and attentive. The appetizers and meals were outstanding and made for an exceptional evening.
Never had a bad meal here, everything was excellent from the service to the food and drinks!
This was our first visit to the Log Cabin. The food was outstanding, excellent service and a great dining room. We are looking forward to returning soon.
My husband and I have been to the Log Cabin several times in the past year with outstanding dining experiences each time. Our most recent visit may have been the best yet, but that's a hard call to make.
Two people in our party ordered the filet mignon and raved about it throughout dinner and the whole way home. It was pronounced the best they have ever eaten. My husband got a muscle and scallop dish that was a true seafood masterpiece, and I had crabcakes loaded with lump crab and grilled to perfection. The lovely cheese tray appetizer and tasty desserts added depth to an already amazing culinary experience. We enjoyed a leisure dinner in a relaxing atmosphere with exemplary service. It's also worthy of note that the gentleman singing in the sitting room added a cozy familiar feeling to the dining ambiance.
