The Longs Arms
The 180ft enclosed garden provides the ideal setting for an English Summer's day. The play equipment at the far end keeps the children occupied - thus allowing you to relax even more!
Our first visit to the venue but sadly our last. An empty restaurant on our arrival at 6.30pm. With two small children, we ordered promptly. Another table followed. Drinks were mixed up with the other table and having ordered first, our food didn't come out until the other table had nearly finished and not all hot. Nearly an hour after ordering. Very disappointing. We didn't bother staying for dessert for fear of how long it would take.
What a fab find! Beautiful bar and restaurant. Lovely pub garden, in the loveliest spot.
Food was fantastic, and service was great! Couldn't recommend enough. A real gem in a lovely village. I will be back soon.
We were a party of 4 for dinner. We were greeted by very friendly staff who immediately pointed out our table, but were happy for us to have a drink at the bar first. There was a wide range of menu choices and all looked apealing. The table service was first class and so was the food. The ambance in the whole bar and seating area was a busy but quiet mix of conversations and we could easily continue our chat without needing to raise our voices. We had a very enjoyable evening at a very reasonable cost.
We had a very enjoyable evening. The food was delicious, the staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. We will definitely go back there again.
Just the right place for a light lunch during the Edington Music Festival ! Thank you !
Lovely ambiance, waitress very friendly. Prompt service. One of our party had the vegetarian curry. It was beautifully presented and there was an empty plate at the end. Finished with mango sorbet which hit the spot perfectly. Very lucky to live only 200 meters away from this great pub.
This was a last minute booking. We had to wait a little while at the bar to be taken to our table. We were dining with a 5 year old. We were asked when placing our order would we like the children’s meal to come out as soon as it was ready , it was late and he was hungry. Sadly his was the last meal to come out. We weren’t asked for a drinks order until the food order was taken. And food took over half an hour to come out. It was very warm inside and no windows were open which made it uncomfortable. Food was lovely and the setting in a picturesque village just beautiful.
Absolutely lovely evening!
Great food, lovely bar and serving staff
Will definitely go back very soon!!
Lovely staff, good food and nice location. Had a table reserved but due to great weather started in beer garden and moved back inside when it got a bit chilly and staff were fine with this as they kept our table reserved inside. We all had something different and all enjoyed the food, girls even asked for extra custard with the crumble and this was no problem. Would recommend and looking forward to going back.
A super "buzzy" pub with a great atmosphere in a beautiful village. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. We had a lovely big table in the bar area and the place was busy all night. We had vegetarians in our group and there was a good choice if vegan and vegetarian food.
Staff are bril. Attentive and knowledgeable, plus able to spare the time for a joke. Really enjoy going there
Starters were nice but over priced Mains expected better for money .
Perfect food, surroundings and company. Sitting in the sunny garden for a delightful lunch made my day. Thank you
Lovely place with welcoming friendly staff. Very prompt service despite been busy. The food was absolutely delicious. It was our first visit and we will definitely be going there again.
It is rare that a place can be a favorite of my mother and my daughter at the same time! The Longs Arms somehow manages it really well with a lovely ambience, winter and summer, rain or shine. Love the place, its friendly staff and its great food. The "modern" trend of sourcing locally has always been the case here and it shows
Had dinner here on a lively Friday evening. Great atmosphere, lovely food (the chips described as Our Chips are to die for!) and friendly staff. We don't live near The Longs Arms so a visit is a treat when we're in the area.
Food was very flavoursome, didn't get veg with the salmon dish so thought that a little mean.
Overall a bit pricey, but would recommend.
Great place with great atmosphere. Staff Excellent. Food lovely. Booked in advance so disappointed to be situated right next to kitchen when the restaurant had only one other customer.
A lovely pub that has a great vegan menu with fabulous vegan puddings 👍
Great food, great service, lovely ambience; need I say more...
Lovely old pub, friendly service and atmosphere, good food at a good price.
Amazing food was slightly noisey only because the rugby was on which we were made aware of before we came... Other than that would highly recommend to everyone...
We went for a meal with friends and were seated quickly when we arrived. The whole pub was busy with diners and people at the bar so the noise level was high but festive. The menu choices were varied with something for everyone. I started with creamy garlic mushrooms on brioche - delicious! Main course was the fantastic steak and 6X pie - the portion was huge with plenty of veg too. Dessert I chose the peanut butter mouse which was very good if a little too sweet for my taste towards the end - or maybe I was just full up! Overall a great night out with fab food in friendly popular pub. We would recommend The Longs Arms and hope to return soon.
Booked for my wife's birthday. Few customers, One hardworking Barmaid/ waitress. Nice welcome. Menu a bit limited but we both found something we fancied. Food was very good. Portions were perfectly adequate.
Prices about £3 over the top for Mains in my opinion and £2 over for starters.
A bit picky but I wanted to Whet my appetite not Wet it.
The steak pie was excellent and I'd go back for that. Well poured Guinness and Orchard Pig Cider
Found this pub on the Internet. Wanted a place to eat on our way back from Lacock So glad we did we had a wonderful Sunday lunch. The food was excellent the bar staff could not do enough for us
Wish this was nearer to us would visit often
As always this pub never fails to disappoint. As a vegetarian there are various choices and are delicious.
The staff are very friendly and always have time for the customers, they treat strangers with the same warmth as the regulars.
Very good impression on our first visit. Excellent, tasty food. Proper meat pies too big for the men to finish! My fish one of the best sea bass I have tasted. Friendly helpful service, if a bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Good buzz in the bar.
Fabulous food, lively atmosphere, stylish decor at this village pub. Especially happy that as vegans we had a choice of meal and a choice of desserts (all delicious). Even the homemade biscotti with our coffees were vegan. Our meat eating companion was also very happy with his food. Totally enjoyed the evening.
A lovely, friendly pub with nice, helpful people with a sense of humour. Two sirloin steaks, rare, were cooked just right and the "own chips" were excellent - chunky, crisp and dry. Well worth the drive.
Lovely pub for every occasion. Very friendly staff and locals. Made us feel very welcome.
Very enjoyable anniversary lunch. Lovely attentive staff, friendly atmosphere. Open fire in winter. Cosy. Tasty food. Pub garden is also great for children. Thank you.
We visited here for Sunday lunch with our preschooler. The garden looks fabulous, nice and big with a climbing frame/slide. It was too wet for us to stay outside. We had reserved a table online and that worked fine. The Sunday roast was really delicious, the serving staff very attentive. For example, I was sharing my roast with our little one, the lady noticed and asked if we would like some extra vegetables and came back with another whole bowl full. Overall very very pleased and would happily go back for anniversary or birthday meals as well as lunches at the weekends.
Had a great evening - lovely food and great service. Will definitely come again
came here for the first time with my parter for a sunday lunch and food was incredible. good service and great value for money would definitely come again.
Nice friendly pub offering good range of traditional pub grub plus interesting specials. Food is good quality and good value. Service was a little slow perhaps, they were quite busy, but very friendly and polite so not an issue as we were in no hurry. Value for money was very good indeed. Steak & 6X Pie is a very tasty filler (upgrade to the home-cut chips which are great) made with prime steak and good, proper, pastry. We had a very pleasant evening and will certainly visit again.
Excellent meal with interesting ideas. Not ideal if you are in a hurry.
Great food and great beer. The staff were excellent and had a great evening.
Loved the whole lunch and the atmosphere. Only minor issue was the windows all shut, on such a hot day.
The pub was very busy with lots of locals drinking outside in the very warm weather, but the service was prompt and the food was very good. The staff were very friendly.
Seemed to be short of everything from menus to spinach to sausages...slow delivery of food and not made aware of roast options until we asked...also servers didn't have knowledge of the dishes on offer...disappointing for the sort of prices being asked.
