  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for craft beers
A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

A really pleasant dining experience with the welcome and ambience within the main bar area preparing you for the fine dining experience on the first floor. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food amazing. Compliments to the Chefs was given personally due to thier proximity to the dining area.

Limited selection of food available. The sirloin steak we chose was well cooked and OK. We have had better though for less. The crispy pink potatoes were quite dry and the broccolini portion quite small - not enough to share between two. No Coke Zero was available and the Diet Coke alternative was the mixer bottle size (200 ml) which few places now serve and always seems a rip off when charged for a full size drink. The venue itself was very busy so obviously popular. It was very noisy though with customers competing with the noise from the open kitchen. All in all the meal was ok but expensive - the staff were very attentive and earned the 12.5% service charge which is automatically charged.

From the movement you walk in the service is perfect; attentive, but not too much. And the food….. the food! Best roast we have had in London

Extremely overpriced, for four of us our bill came to £350 for what was essentially a basic, cold and tasteless roast dinner with some bone marrow(which by the way is awful and adds absolutely nothing to the meal) Took us forever to be seated even though we arrived early and to be honest, I feel like this was intentionally done to ensure that we ordered a couple more drinks as other people we walking in and getting seated straight away, We all left absolutely stinking to high heavens of grease and we’ve all had terrible stomachs since eating there yesterday, the entire dinner was cold, flavourless and HEAVY with fat. Quality of the meat is awful and we left most of it. The food looks absolutely nothing like the carefully curated posts and videos that you might see online. In a nutshell / grossly overpriced basic Sunday lunch, won’t be recommending or returning

The food and ambience was great, it was just the right balance of fine dining but in a relaxed setting. What really made it special for us were the staff. From the moment we arrived in the restaurant they made us feel at home.

Food is delicious, the marmite hollandaise is a stroke of genius. I would go back alone just for that. Food really was good, great setting, vibrant and the staff were on point.
