The Lounge at Lilianfels Blue Mountains
The Lounge Bar with a stylish mahogany bar is the perfect setting to unwind and relax with pre-dinner drinks with an extensive wine & cocktail list. Compliment your drinks with our gourmet all day dining menu, featuring tasty sharing plates such as crispy soft shell crab taco, buttermilk fried chicken sliders or the classic club sandwich and Wagyu beef burger and more.
Visited here for dinner and the club sandwich was stone cold and the egg grey. They used absolute vodka in a $25 cocktail. Service is slow and rude. They might think it’s 5 star but I would question it being 3 star. Spoke to other people in the pool and they felt the same. Haven’t eaten there since and stayed there for 3 nights, doubt we would even return to stay in the hotel again
I expect something better
But it’s ok!
The food wasn’t very yummy
The tea was perfect
The ambience was wonderful. The lounge is plush and comfortable. The staff are attentive, polite and efficient. We will be returning.
The best thing about high tea at Lillianfels is the setting. Great decor and well placed lounges, creating a sense of privacy. Unfortunately, the experience is let down by service which was perfunctory at best and the tea itself. Our party of 5 each had different types of tea and 4 of the 5 had almost no fragrance. Unsure whether it was the quality of the tea or it had not been properly stored in sealed containers. Also, it was disappointing to have been served tea in a very tired teapot - see photo. Overall, it was nice but I wouldn't come back again.
Thanks for the lovely high tea - it made for a lovely birthday celebration 😊
It was disappointing that the dietary requirements were asked about and then ignored. The guest of honor asked that no fish be served on her plate as she has seafood allergies, but there was still fish in all the platters on our table.
The food was brilliant and the tea was delightful. Was a shame as some of the waitstaff were not very attentive and we had to get up to ask for a couple of things after trying to gain someone's attention for over 10 minutes.
Third time I've been to Lilianfels Blue Mountains and I do not regret it.
Lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful high tea. I would definitely keep coming back
The hostess Jess was very good during our weekend stay. Piano player on Saturday afternoon was excellent. Loved the relaxing atmosphere in the lounge very warm and comfortable.
Luxurious gluten free high tea with Moët & Chandon - yes please.
Service was very average and the only enjoyable thing about the high tea was the scones.
Once the food was served the service stopped. No one came to offer a top up or another coffee. In fact I had to go and ask for my coffee as it didn’t come at all! For the price it was very disappointing.
Wonderful experience for myself and young daughters. Thanks
There was a family with 2 children that were running around and loud. More resembled a McDonalds. Food was great but have to question how this was allwed to happen. Was very poor for the price. We won't do that again and will recommend against unless you ban children that aren't in control in a posh place!!!
Love having tea at Lilianfels, gorgeous lounge and gardens. Unfortunately on this occasion the lack of service and the screaming children killed the mood a bit. Staff didn’t explain any food on the tea tower, was very difficult to get staff attention, no water top-ups, and it wasn’t a busy day. Will still go back but service needs some work. Just some attention and enthusiasm would help. James at the front desk on the other hand was amazing. He helped us with a dinner reservation, his service was exceptional!!!
Very disappointed in the high tea not a lot of food for for the cost and the service was poor, we had to remind the wait staff re our order, or coffees and also to get the bill at end.
Always a delightful place for a lovely lunch.
Gracious decor and fabulous artwork.
Very nice waitstaff.
A wonderful atmosphere and well worth booking for their top Luxurious High Tea. The food was outstanding.
Went to The Lounge for high tea, while the food was very good, the service was less than adequate which may have been due to being under staffed. It was supposed to be high tea however did not receive the tea and coffee until after the food was consumed so they served it in take away cups, considering the cost, very poor service.
Disappointed about the environment. Food was ok.
Was disappointed to be seated initially in the breakfast room due to covid restrictions- after making a reservation for a birthday dinner I found this to be unacceptable for a five star resort.
After speaking to the manager (a young lady who was phenomenal at all times) we were moved into the lounge. This was much nicer.
The value of the food was not really worth what we paid but pleasant enough.
Probably wouldn’t rush back to be honest.
A disaster of a meal which took almost 3 hours! I know we’ve just come out of Covid however I would expect more from a 5 star hotel. I wasn’t a guest at the hotel however chose to dine in the Lounge Room because I’ve been there before a few times and really enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken breast (took 1 hour from the time I was seated). It was dry and just warm, the accompanying potato gratin was cold. I ordered 1 glass of wine and was never offered another. I ordered dessert and after waiting 30 minutes I gave up and left. The waitress did take the glass of wine and my dessert which never arrived off the bill, however overall really disappointing.
Great service - staff were wonderful and very attentive- with personality
Seated a the breakfast hall with a view of the carpark - not what you're paying for to have an expensive high tea in the blue mountains. Food was cold only, clearly sitting out for hours, with cheap ingredients. Was incredibly disappointing, and painful to pay $130 for two at the end.
Overall our High Tea at Lilianfels was alright. We were originally seated at a very low coffee table area however as I have a spinal injury, I politely asked to be moved to a proper table and our waitress happily obliged, which I really appreciated.
If you've never had High Tea before, it would be a nice treat for you however, I've had many High Tea in various places throughout NSW and unfortunately this one was a bit on the plain side and not of the best quality. Some of the food was not quite up to High Tea standards, especially for the venue we were at. I had higher expectations then what we received.
Our hot beverages were bought out far too early (about 15-20 minutes before the food) so we had no drinks with our food.
I requested a wine menu once the food arrived, I was given a menu but then no one came back to take my wine order so they lost about $20-$30 of wine sales that day.
The staff overall were polite and professional.
I would be happy to return and try other catering options, however I would not have the High Tea here again as I didn't think it was as good as it could be, based on my own experiences with other High Tea venues.
I requested a table near the window of The Lounge as it was for my father's 75th birthday and we were placed in the The Orangery restaurant where breakfast is served next to a loud, rowdy guests. Definitely not the lunch I was hoping for. Salmon was also overcooked although other meals were ok.
The high tea was ok. Food was nice, nothing spectacular, no hot food on the platter, not many sandwiches or wraps. The two open fires they had in the room weren’t on even though it was only 13 degrees outside. Service was slow and not very pleasant. Got shoved to a table right next to another couple. There was no view outside either
We went to celebrate a little girls 8th birthday and all the girls had a wonderful time. They loved the opportunity to act like grown up ladies and that they were treated like grown ups and added to the fun they were having. Even other patrons were happy to chat to the girls. The whole experience was really lovely and we would certainly recommend it to others.
The High Tea was beautifully presented and a delicious mixture of sweet and savoury.

Lovely high tea in beautiful surroundings
Peaceful atmosphere and food superb
Service good Overall a very pleasant day
So lovely staff where great 👍
Will come back again
went there few times ... a great place to rest and relax after a tiring . the staff was not very helpful , asked her about the tea selection but what I got is "they are all the same " . looking for better service.
Beautifully presented high tea with excellent service. Combined this with a spa day which again was a wonderful relaxing experience. Every member of staff we meet was friendly but professional at the same time
I took my daughter for what was supposed to be a special afternoon tea. We were seated and then ignored for about 30 minutes. After watching several staff walk by and not offer assistance I went and spoke to the manager and complained about the appalling service. They eventually took my order which was Devonshire tea. One of the scones was a fruit scone which was not requested. The jam was thin and the cream was runny. A Very disappointing experience and no offer to discount the price after being treated so poorly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good English Devonshire tea and good service.
quite place for a coffee or meal or just to relax with the paper
At the time we went it was quite (off peat).
We had a lovely time, service & food was wonderful.
Great atmosphere. Relaxed dining in the lounge. Very private table where we can talk. All were a little disappointed in the food. Salmon and chicken were over cooked. We brought our own birthday cake which was beautifully served with candles.
Excellent service. Great wine.
Would recommend Lilly velds for a special occasion.
Was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Was lovely music playing in the background and friendly staff.
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our High Tea at Lilianfels. Such beautiful surroundings and a delicious selection of High Tea goodies.
Nice atmosphere although maybe needs a bit more character
Tables a bit small to hold food & drinks so maybe staff need to remove excess glasses and things when new ones ordered.
