3 rashers of smoked back bacon. Served in a white or granary roll
Good range of options. Home made soup (roast vegetable) was delicious.
Ordering our food was easy. However paying for it was frustrating as I was 2nd in the queue at the till and the person in front of me was waiting for three coffees to be prepared and it took forever! Problem was only one staff member was serving and no one came to his assistance. Meanwhile the queue was growing (8 people waiting now). The supervisor should have seen the problem and opened up the other till so that those waiting to pay could be processed quickly. Very slow service!
Everything worked well. Booking in to the restaurant was friendly and easy. We had a really suitable table and the strawberry tarts were delicious.
All staff we had dealings with were helpful and friendly.
Covid restrictions were observed in an unobtrusive way. All in all a very positive experience .
We actually found Mains of Drum by accident, having visited Crathes Castle we were heading to Aberdeen for lunch, passed Mains of Drum and decided to stop there instead. Booking a table was easy, not long to wait which gave us a chance to have a look around the shopping area which was lovely. We had soup and sandwiches which was really nice and freshly made. Staff were all lovely and well organised, explained well what the procedures for ordering etc were. Really enjoyed it, will be back for another visit 😊
Came here for the second time with 3 under 3 and the staff couldn’t be more helpful/accommodating! Really recommend, especially with kids!
I have been dinning at mains of drum for a few years now and nerver had any complaints. Good food and excellent service. I love eating at mains of drum.
Always great service. Food good with fresh local produce. Well worth a visit
Lovely bright table at a window Charming young man attended to us .Toast arrived quickly. All over visit enjoyed .
Great place for afternoon tea. So organised with socially distanced tables, friendly staff and great scones!!
Lovely lunch again at Drum.
The soup and sandwich was delicious. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to going back again soon 🥰
All good. All instructions easy to follow. Will return again.
Good food and pleasant, helpful staff. Only downside was table time restricted to 2 hrs which was a bit limited for our first family get together since Jan 2020! We asked if the table was required or if we could have more coffees, waitress said we were welcome to have more coffee, table not required but restrictions meant we had half an hour left so we managed more coffees.
My understanding is that the 2 hour slot is discretionary and aimed at enabling management of licensed establishments to ensure no over consumption of alcohol leading to irresponsible behaviour in observing covid safety measures, which I wouldn’t imagine being an issue at Mains of Drum? Having had very long lunches at 2 local hotels recently, perhaps the Drum policy is more about releasing tables and enabling turnover of customers but there were lots of empty tables on the day of our visit.
It also seemed odd that as a covid safety measure, all other such places we’ve been are offering table service only both for food and bar but Drum is operating self service.
Enjoyed our visit though and would certainly return.
Enjoyed our fly cup the coffee was excellent the seating was well spaced out and everything was spotless
Will definitely be back
Food and service was excellent atmosphere very calming and enjoyable looking forward to visiting again
Lovely staff and place. It is always a pleasure to go to. The food was delicious and nice and hot. They took great care with their COVID procedures and as soon as anyone left everything was well sanitised.
It is a lovely place to visit and will be back again soon.
Early morning coffee so the restaurant was very quiet. Restaurant well laid out and service where required was good.
helpful and very friendly staff, delicious food especially the coffee. thanks
Glad we checked and booked. Lovely time for a lovely lunch and a look round the shop and the garden centre.
It doesn’t seem to be a very efficient way of ordering food. Our food arrived at the table before we had gotten our coffee. There was only one other person being served in front of us but it seemed to take a while to make the coffees!
My son ordered the haddock and the quality wasn’t very good. There seemed to be a lot of juice/fat literally running out of the fish when he cut into it, that it left a little puddle on the plate.
As a coeliac, I was disappointed to choose items from the menu marked 'gluten free' and then to be told at the service counter that they were not available; similarly only 2 desserts were available on the day (despite being on the menu we were given)
Usual lovely atmosphere and sit class, friendly service. Thanks to all staff for making this a lovely day out for my elderly parents. First class as always.
As usual everything was done efficiently and in line with the covid guidance.
Food was good and as usual staff were friendly and helpful
Excellent service, highly recommend Mains of Drum. Lovely ambiance.
We had scrambled eggs with toast. The scrambled eggs were horrid. The texture was very stange almost plastic and watery . Im not sure if they are microwaved but they were not nice i have bought them before - ages ago before the covid mess. Staff lovely
Nice Ambiance and always feel comfortable eating here
As always the service was good, as was the food. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Just disappointed that your main GF fish and chips was not available - but better luck next time
It would be nice to see a few additions to the light lunch menu
Always enjoy meeting friends at Drum. Wide range of goods to eat and drink. Always great service.
Good booking system and great social distancing between tables. Felt safe.
Good selection of cakes/bakes and drinks.
Enjoyed our afternoon tea with you yesterday. The lady who took our track and trace was so helpful . We had an elderly lady with us and she looked after her so well. We’ll be back soon.
No enough choice for someone with food restrictions. My daughter is dairy and soya free. Not much to choose from
Staff were attentive in difficult circumstances with Covid rules . Food was good. Booking in advance is advisable.
Lovely scones and nice light Victoria sponge, downside, tables were a bit too close together.
Lovely clean restaurant and the food is always lovely . Staff are helpful and courteous.
Was asked twice what type of bread we wanted the sandwiches to be and they still arrived wrong. There was a 1 way system which nobody seemed to follow. Cakes were limited in selection and not very nice. One fruit and one plain scone
Absolutely first class service and attentive - The food was fantastic we had afternoon tea. Can’t rate it highly enough. Ladies were so lovely and helpful making sure my Mum who is in wheelchair was ok and comfortable. First class all round.
Excellent food and service. Very good value for money
Lovely restaurant and food very good. The staff made you feel welcomed and safe with good covid guidelines in place. We had coffees and scones and the smashed avocado on toast with a poached egg is a favourite with my son.
Took some time to get served our coffees. Need another machine perhaps? Staff seemed desperate to clean up and shut up. Down in garden centre and gift areas a very different ambience. On the whole stills very nice place to visit. I appreciate staff are doing their very best under these trying times. Thank you
