The Maze at Chatsworth House
A truly unique experience. The scones and clotted cream were the best I’ve ever had. The weather was disappointing and a little chilly under the tent
Overall it was a pleasant experience with the food, service & ambience good but I did feel that £100 for afternoon tea for two was over the top. This was a treat for my future daughter-in-law prior to her wedding & I booked it because it was a special occasion but the price of it would put me off if it hadn't been for this special event.
A wonderful champagne afternoon tea, the food was fresh, well presented and delicious, we wasn't rushed after we had eaten and a lovely Pimms bar added to the experience.. The staff were anxious about the wasps but what do you expect when eating Al fresco.. it didn't spoil my birthday treat at all. The staff were wonderful and very attentive. What more could you ask for
Great food lovely ambience.
We went early morning and enjoyed a walk around the gardens.
Lovely experience all round. Surroundings are special, service great, we loved the food and had to take some some cakes home there were so many. The pre-requested vegetarian option was fulfilled, as was a table at the edge of the gazebo as we had our dog with us. Yes it’s expensive but includes car parking and entrance to Chatsworth’s wonderful gardens. Great for a special treat.
A real treat. Yes it’s expensive but it includes entry and a glass of champagne. Well worth paying for the experience, we had such a lovely day. It’s in the gardens but under a gorgeous teepee so no worries about the weather. Bit painful with the wasps but it’s that time of year.
Would have like more sandwiches rather than cakes. Not sure about the venue as there is not much of a view of the Maze. On reflection will have afternoon tea in the restaurant next time.
We booked for a day which turned out to be very rainy and it was easy to re-book for the next day. The sandwiches were fairly average but the cakes were tasty; the champagne was lovely! It does seem a bit pricey but the parking fee and entrance to the garden were included, which was lovely to wander around after tea.
I have had afternoon tea at Chatsworth House years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was good value for money. Although the food was excellent and we were offered more tea/coffee I thought it was a smidge overpriced. The area was lovely and we were fortunate to have a good day but I would not have liked to sit eating my tea under an awning if the weather was as bad as the day before ours. Overall we did enjoy the experience, and that is what you pay for at this beautiful place
Lovely alfresco afternoon tea! We had 3 pots of tea and sat there for hours!
Didn’t deliver my specific online request
Bit disappointed food not up to standard.
Not value for money
Staff and service good
But not exceptional
Posh crockery but disappointing food.
I thought it would have been a lot more special than it was. Problem with wasps and the fact that we paid £50!! each to eat under a canopy in the park?? Wouldn’t book again or recommend.
Lovely service in a lovely setting ,but alot of money for two people and the food quality wasn't great., plus , as the 'tent' we were in was open all sides, we kept being approached by wasps, lots of them!
Definitely needed something extra for the £100 paid and we were thre for less than an hour.
The tea was cold. It was changed on request but still cold when renewed. Disappointing consider the price.
Everything else was good ie service and food.
Given the cost of this afternoon tea -£50 each - I was expecting nice surroundings and exceptional food. The location was in a grassed area near to the maze with a view of overgrown grass/weeds in front and a section of landscape (mud) to the right that was undergoing development . Chatsworth House grounds in general are beautiful but this particular spot was hugely disappointing. I booked this as a special occasion for my mum’s 80th birthday and felt hugely let down.
