Lovely food served on Christmas Day by friendly staff. Thank you so much.

The food was delicious, although one member of our party felt the portion size was too large, but the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and considerate, nothing was too much trouble for them. It was a very enjoyable evening and the proprietor did their part to keep customers & staff safe from Covid with sanitiser, screens and masks.
We look forward to returning in the New Year!

We had a whole area to ourselves to felt very safe under the current restrictions, although sad to see it so quiet.

An absolutely superb Sunday lunch. I had the pork, Angela the beef. Deserts of cheese and panna cotta. Excellent value, superbly cooked and very generous portions.

Had lunch with grandchildren and there was something for everyone.

Over the past few weeks we have tried several local pubs for Sunday lunch. The Mendip inn is by far the best.

I have eaten at Mendip Country Pub many many times post Lockdown...and whilst I understand that Covid has changed things in many ways...... my experience on Saturday was a HUGE disappointment.....the reduced menu - not being cheap - was such that it offered no more than the average "pub grub" rolled out in thousands of portions in chain eateries- to the extend that I will not be visiting again until they get their original chef and varied menu back in place!

Lovely evening spent with 2 friends. Very helpful staff. Good choice of food. All tables were spaced out.

Friendly helpful staff lovely food - can recommend the Crab cakes and the Sticky toffee pudding, though the pork was slightly dry and tough very edible.

Food wasn’t worth the money - the worlds smallest pie and one of the blandest burgers.

Lovely country pub, modern and cosy decor with a nice ambience. We had the Sunday roast which we thought was quite basic, not many trimmings and the beef was well done. However the main menu might be better. Overall we would recommend, definitely for a drink.

Service was good but very slow. Wanted nearly an hour for someone to take our desert order from being given the menu. Also asked for a jug of water but not given any glasses and they took about half an hour to arrive. The pub was v cold.

This is not the normal service that we receive at the mendip Inn, so hope it's a one off.

Wednesday Steak Night. Pub was busy as expected. The usual warm welcome. Steak was reported as very good, I had the Steak and Mushroom Pie which was homemade and really tasty, and came with a really nice red wine sauce. It’s our “go to” pub in the area for a reason 👍

Brilliant food and lovely service

The food is always very well cooked and presented.
Serving staff happy to accommodate our requests.
They had run out of horseradish and our favourite desert the creme brûlée. Not complaining, good for them I say that in these difficult times they were busy enough to run out.

Me and my partner booked to have dinner based on reviews on TripAdvisor mine was good value for money I had pie the day delicious unfortunately my partner had to korma curry which was Standard and basic which you could’ve cooked better at home

First visit as we were in Wells for a family funeral. We would highly reccomend, great service, good menu and the quality of food was lovely. Would visit again.

On a horrible wet and windy Sunday lunchtime, the Mendip offered welcome refuge, although it would have been better if they'd lit the wood burner earlier!

Great venue, great food and excellent service. Lamb wellington was superb.

Lovely dinner. Especially the soup after a cold day out walking!
