Absolutely fantastic! Food was incredible and service was great!
Over the past few weeks we have tried several local pubs for Sunday lunch. The Mendip inn is by far the best.
I have eaten at Mendip Country Pub many many times post Lockdown...and whilst I understand that Covid has changed things in many ways...... my experience on Saturday was a HUGE disappointment.....the reduced menu - not being cheap - was such that it offered no more than the average "pub grub" rolled out in thousands of portions in chain eateries- to the extend that I will not be visiting again until they get their original chef and varied menu back in place!
Lovely evening spent with 2 friends. Very helpful staff. Good choice of food. All tables were spaced out.
Been awhile since we went out for a meal (Covid etc).
Excellent service and food. Highly recommended.
Food was great, nice atmosphere. Staff very efficient.
Great food and helpful friendly staff. The food is very good we would definitely go there again especially if the fire is lit in the winter.
Had a really nice sunday dinner here. Would recommend.
We had a very enjoyable family meal.
Friendly helpful staff lovely food - can recommend the Crab cakes and the Sticky toffee pudding, though the pork was slightly dry and tough very edible.
A quiet peaceful atmosphere enabled us to chat and hear each other without straining or shouting
Very welcoming and clean. Lovely food and great drink selection.
Food wasn’t worth the money - the worlds smallest pie and one of the blandest burgers.
Lovely country pub, modern and cosy decor with a nice ambience. We had the Sunday roast which we thought was quite basic, not many trimmings and the beef was well done. However the main menu might be better. Overall we would recommend, definitely for a drink.
Great food, welcoming staff would highly recommend
Did not like the dog walking through the restaurant when we were eating but overall very nice
Lovely meal and really friendly service, would definitely recommend.
Service was good but very slow. Wanted nearly an hour for someone to take our desert order from being given the menu. Also asked for a jug of water but not given any glasses and they took about half an hour to arrive. The pub was v cold.
This is not the normal service that we receive at the mendip Inn, so hope it's a one off.
Wednesday Steak Night. Pub was busy as expected. The usual warm welcome. Steak was reported as very good, I had the Steak and Mushroom Pie which was homemade and really tasty, and came with a really nice red wine sauce. It’s our “go to” pub in the area for a reason 👍
Brilliant food and lovely service
The food is always very well cooked and presented.
Serving staff happy to accommodate our requests.
They had run out of horseradish and our favourite desert the creme brûlée. Not complaining, good for them I say that in these difficult times they were busy enough to run out.
An excellent Sunday lunch. Superb food with very polite staff and friendly atmosphere.
Me and my partner booked to have dinner based on reviews on TripAdvisor mine was good value for money I had pie the day delicious unfortunately my partner had to korma curry which was Standard and basic which you could’ve cooked better at home
First visit as we were in Wells for a family funeral. We would highly reccomend, great service, good menu and the quality of food was lovely. Would visit again.
Calm efficient service, polite staff, nice food.
Service ok ,,food not good ,,poor thin meat ,,no taste of vegetables,,potatoes we hard inside dry 😢
Lovely Sunday roast. Amazing service. The desert was to die for.
On a horrible wet and windy Sunday lunchtime, the Mendip offered welcome refuge, although it would have been better if they'd lit the wood burner earlier!
Great venue, great food and excellent service. Lamb wellington was superb.
Lovely dinner. Especially the soup after a cold day out walking!
Food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful. Was a lovely experience out. Only issue was it was a bit cold on there, they may need to turn the heating on a bit earlier this year.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the steaks were cooked perfectly. The whole restaurant was nice and clean and well spaced out. Have been there quite a few times and am never disappointed.
Everything we expected from a local pub. Great service and beautiful food
Great food and staff were very attentive. Would recommend.
Enjoyable meal, great service
Was lovely as always. Staff friendly and food delicious.
Great service, the barman was welcoming. There was no rush to the service. The food was lovely and just the right portion size. The wait between courses was great.
Fantastic impromptu dinner out and would recommend
Excellent food and service
Superb meal and great service. I would recommend eating at the Mendip Inn to anyone.
A pleasant enough experience generally (very friendly and the service was good) but the food didnt blow me away - I found a few flakes of fish, for example, in one of two fishcakes (which were clearly brought in and simply deep fried). The creme brulee wasnt much better.
