Had a good experience at the Minnow with good food and service following a rather poor experience on our previous visit. As long as we are met with this sort of level of service and quality of food we are happy and willing to come back again.
Were looked after by Carly, attentive service, varied menu, food good.. ravioli special very tasty. Very nice place and outside area.
A really pleasant evening with good food and lovely service
Mother’s Day, great company, food was good, drinks were great but what really made it special was the service.
Really a good afternoon & Service from Carly was great.
Friendly service, good food from a varied menu - would recommend
This is a place I’ve wanted to visit for some time now. It always looked lovely from the outside so it was great to be able to visit this time. It was our first date together.
My partner and I were shown to a table for four and two places were cleared so we had plenty of space.
The staff were friendly enough although as the evening went on they became scarce and were not around much.
The food was lovely, and well presented. My partner had the breaded baked Brie to start with, it wasn’t quite what she was expecting but she enjoyed it nonetheless. I had the duck liver and port parfait, which was nice although could have done with a little more bread with it.
My partner had the grilled chicken bacon and avocado salad but requested a plain salad with no onions, broccoli or kale with it (it still had onions in it when it came). I had the Rib eye steak which was cooked beautifully (medium rare) but was a bit fatty in places.
Overall we had a lovely evening, the food was good and my partner loved it (despite the onions which she weeded out of the salad!)
We would happily go again and hope our experience of the staff is just that little bit more attentive next time.
Another lovely evening at The Minnow - lovely lady called Lisa was our server - we’ve met her before - and again, she was so nice to us
Scrummy food too! Perfect for catching up with friends on a cold winters night - always lovely and cosy in there - gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc too! Be back soon!
Yuck- pretty interior - ok location by the river but tired poorly cooked junk direct from the freezer - shame this could be really nice - M&B Standard’s have Got to be higher than this
Service was extremely slow!!! We hated it!!! We have waited 2 hours!!!
Unable to leave a review as half the menu was unavailable when we arrived in good time for our booking so we left and ate elsewhere. Very disappointing.
Great food and menu. Relaxed atmosphere.
Service was slow but we weren’t in any rush.
Bill was incorrect but was rectified.
Will be back and would recommend.
Table service outside improved - more efficient and slightly quicker.
Had an early evening dinner with a friend, we hadn’t caught up in a while. We both had fish cakes which were lovely. The staff friendly and attentive also allowing us time to chat. Have already booked a return visit.
Service very slow. Meal was just warm ordered desert and it took ages. We had to remind them. When it turned up it was cold. Coffees were ordered and they only turned up on the bill.
Great location for food, great menu and fast friendly service.
Lovely meal but had run out of Venison /Sea bass and crumble for an 8.30pm booking which was disappointing.
What we had was enjoyable.
We did however all agree that the price of
the side salad was excessive for size received.
Overall was great and will definItely return.
Went out for a girls catch up, friendly staff with a good atmosphere. Something for everyone on the menu. We had sharing starters and all opted for coffee/tea and a mini dessert each, perfect!
Would definitely go again.
Great food and service, best steak I have had in ages
Mother’s Day - a great experience. Thank you for the excellent service and atmosphere.
After 10 year absence from the restaurant due to shoddy service historically ,we booked to attend the Minnow on mothers day at 5pm. Realising they would be busy, we turned up at 10 to 5. We were told our table was occupied and the people there were paying the bill. 30 minutes later and despite requests for another table, the staff had still not freed up the table and we were forced to leave as our children were absolutely starving with no food in sight. If you allow a booking - please allow adequate time so families with young children like us are treated correctly. No apology, no courtesy and definitely no return from us.
The restaurant provides a very neat and homy atmosphere.
Service is always good, well organised, good value for money.
Variety of food options, good wines and selection of drinks.
It's right next to Thames path and great for combined stroll and lunch or dinner.
A perfect venue for Valentines the food and wine was excellent, the service was timed to perfection. Would recommend to anyone.
We had a very enjoyable evening at the Minnow. We were given a table in a quiet corner and were presented with four menus. We chose from the a la carte menu. Food was well presented, tasty with good sized portions. It was my first time at the Minnow and I liked it. I’ll definitely return.
Food was very nice, however the service was quite slow and the restaurant wasn’t playing any music!
The roast dinner was amazing. We’ll definitely be back!
This place is lovely for lunch, but not dinner. Food is good and service ok.
Much improved from my last visits.
I have been a couple of times now and the food is lovely. The let down to all my visits have been the service. Always having to ask for things more than once and waiting periods of unacceptable time for courses. We were there and hour and half just for 1 drink each and a main course at lunch time. There never seemed to be anyone around during our meal. Also when the meal arrived I was passed my plate to take from her hands from across the table, I feel it should always be placed on th table. My colleague asked for a water half way through the meal and it never materialised. We had to wait quite a while for the bill and then even longer for someone to come and take our payments. Disappointed with this visit and unfortunely would not suggest this as a place for work lunch.
Had return a warm and liquid crab pot....as a pate this should have been solid and cold
Service was very slow...staff didnt seem to care
A few drunks smashed glasses in the carpark
I wont be returning, and I've eaten here many times in the past
