Good value nicely cooked food and friendly service
Good quality food, great service from very nice people!
Very friendly welcome with excellent well prepared food.
Lovely Sunday lunch whilst enjoying the wonderful Newton Court cider. Lovely surroundings and fabulous outside area.
Lovely welcome on arrival
Fresh veg and loads of meat for roast dinner.
Lovely time had from start to finish.
Well worth it, we would go again. Quality food and lovely people.
We are holidaying in the area and thought it looked nice, so booked for dinner.
We were not disappointed the meals were superb and the landlords were very friendly.
Always a lovely friendly welcome and excellent food - this time was no exception to that. Can't recommend highly enough
Lovely owners , good food - stopped with wife and 2 young kids who really enjoyed it
The chef is an excellent maker of curry. His passion is obvious when he explains the curry’s available. Serving size was really good too at this price point. Would highly recommend.
We went for my Birthday whilst on holiday in the area and was made most welcome by the host's and nothing was to much trouble, the food was good and reasonably priced there was a good selection of draft beer and cider, so all in all a very pleasant evening.
Many thanks and we will call in again when we are in the area again.

The team at this venue have worked hard to offer a really nice pub dining experience at good value prices. All local produce and very well kept beers. Will dine and drink again and would recommend. The new addition of pies and pasty’s from a local farm shop is excellent for a casual snack.
Good Sunday lunch if you like solid simple pub grub. Beef apparently overdone but enjoyable. My halloumi chips were good but bruschetta disappointing. Beers good but wine selection very limited- white Riocha pleasant enough
I would recommend as food as fantastic! A little quiet though so lacked atmosphere!
My friends’ Golden wedding anniversary... it was all just so lovely
Great food ... they loved the apple and parsnip soup and their favourite was the rhubarb crumble
All the food was superb. Thank you
Lovely meal, excellent service and a lovely relaxing atmosphere
We, enjoyed our meal at The Monkland Arms very much this weekend. We got a friendly welcome and all the staff looked after us well. The food was excellent, prepared fresh and the menu is extensive enough to please a wide range of tastes. We enjoyed some local cider too. As a bonus there was a decent folk band on (The Stoned Cherries) so all in all a great evening thankyou.
We dined very early in the evening, so the place was very quiet. The food and service were great and everyone very friendly. I’d definitely go back.
I am ashamed to state that after 12 years passing by , as I noticed this pub had changed hands many times , I booked a meal for two last Saturday evening and I was so happily surprised!
The pub is so cosy in half light and just such a kind and warming place. The staff are fantastic and the food equally fantastic.
I had thought , ok, pub food but it was all natural and home cooked. You can take your dog too! There was a man singing which added to the ambience.
What a great place and that will teach me for not stopping by before ! Don’t judge a book by its cover!
The Monkland Arms is a fantastic place to eat and to chill with friends!
Well done to you !
After a hiccup with the pub not receiving our booking through opentable - mast glitch we think. We were greeted very pleasantly and the licensee and staff were welcoming and apologetic. The ambience was cosy and homely with a good choice of background music which was played at a level which was not intrusive. There was a good and varied menu and our choices were promptly and were extremely tasty. We had a lovely evening and as a group we can recommend the creamy mushrooms, whitebait and sausage with mustard mash.
Lovely staff and good food. Couldn't drink because I was driving but the beers and ciders available were fantastic. Deserves to do well.
The Monkland Arms has a warm and friendly atmosphere and the home-cooked meals are delicious and reasonably priced.
An enjoyable evening. Food was good & the service was excellent. Very friendly
Great ambiance, excellent friendly staff. Good menu range but we did find the food a little basic.
Otherwise it was enjoyable.
Lovely friendly staff.
Not pub with tastefull decor... great food very friendly staff... Reasonable prices
Booked last minute and enjoyed a good roast beef lunch with a good selection of vegetables and lots of lovely gravy. Service was excellent with very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!
