The Mussel & Steak Bar is dedicated to serving high quality, fresh and locally sourced seafood & steaks, with warm service and welcoming surroundings. Our restaurant is located at the bottom of Victoria Street in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, just a few steps from the historic Royal Mile. While enjoying the best mussels, oysters and steaks that Scotland has to offer, you can catch a glimpse of Edinburgh Castle from our window.
Our menu features classic seafood and steak favourites with seasonal Scottish specialties: fresh oysters, kilo pots of steamed mussels, shellfish platters and delicious matured Scotch beef steaks. Sourced from the West to North coast of Scotland you can expect to find seafood specials of lobsters, crabs, langoustines and scallops.

Excellent service even though they were very busy. Our lovely waitress was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were treated with a great smile when we arrived from the young lady on the desk. The food was delicious. It wasn't cheap but plentiful and worth every penny. We will return this week during our stay. We can throughly recommend it.

We liked the music but it was too high. All others things were fantastic: the waiter , rest of the staff , the food. thanks for the two free oisters!

The food was amazing along with 2 free oysters on arrival. Unfortunately the mussels being 1kg no room for pudding! Hubby had steak in the best whiskey sauce. The waitress amazing the front of house needs to be a bit friendly on leaving!

Great seafood. Not particularly gluten free friendly. Whole bass was delicious but dining dry jasmine rice for couscous was not. Nice wines and cocktails. A bit confusing when 3 different servers wanted to take our entree orders right away.
