   The majority of the dishes on the menu appear to involve deep frying in some way or other so not a place to go if you want to eat healthily. Salad side dish unimaginative and lacked dressing. Most waiting staff were adequate but one was particularly poor - taking order to the wrong table then forgetting our drinks order. It has the potential to be good and outside looks lovely but would go back for drinks rather than a meal.

While our fish & chips, chicken burger and fries are deep fried, the vast majority of other things on the menu are cooked with other equipment including our chargrill and stone pizza oven.    Wait staff was polite and well meaning but unfortunately quite incompetent. The ambience was of a hotel patroned mostly by the elderly and the playlist playing in the background seemed to be targeted at that audience. The lighting was not great (not as pictured) and the decor was fake and had a “canteen” vibe. The food was mostly okay.

   Lovely location, nice grounds- such a shame there was minimum gluten free options. You would think that most places do vegan, vegetarian so I can’t understand why no gluten free.

   We offer gluten free alternatives for all our pasta dishes, our burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, steak, salmon, roast chicken, all our side orders, salads and our sharing platters.    Staff really pleasant and accommodating, allowing us to sit outside. Meals also suited a vegetarian, a vegan and a non-dairy diet! Reasonable prices compared to other places in the area. Delicious burgers, pizza and apple crumble. Thank you.

    First time at the Neighbourhood for dinner. We all really enjoyed our food. Steaks, fish, vegetarian dishes all excellent. Staff very attentive and friendly. Nice place, and looks like a great outdoor area for the nicer weather so will definitely return.

    Wonderful brunch. A wee bit of prosecco, haggis ravioli, eggs benedict. Food was simply amazing. A tad more expensive than McDonald's admittedly but the ambience and service was first class

    Went for an early evening meal and though music in restaurant was too loud we were able (because it was so mild) to sit in patio area outside which was great as we were able to bring our two dogs there too. Food arrived amazingly quickly and was really good. Excellent manager and waiting staff too. Will definitely be back in the spring.

    Food was not served how we asked (items substituted), chips went cold before we could get sauce 20mins after receiving our food, waited 18 minutes for 2 drinks during meal! Salmon fillet had so many bones in it, it was cold inside & the service was ridiculous! Not worth the money at all

    Service was attentive and efficient.Our food was great and there were several vegetarian options for our friends although there was plenty for carnivores too. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak fries and the selection of desserts were OK too Wish they'd bring back the Creme Brulee though .The refurb on Bisque has been very well done and it's a real improvement. We were one of the few parties who didn't cancel because of the Omicron Covid variant, so we probably enjoyed a really safe lunch experience -although given the measures in place it would have felt safe anyway.Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

    Service was a bit slow despite it being fairly quiet, however staff were very friendly and polite. Ordered a pina colada (didn’t check the price) but was shocked when we received the bill that it was £12.50 for one!!! Been to higher end cocktail bars in Edinburgh and not paid anything close to that! The burgers were tasty but we received the wrong fries and were charged for completely different ones. Overall and okay experience but probably wouldn’t rush back!

    The Neighbourhood was fine for our post ‘Mums night’ quiet drinks. It wasn’t at all what I expected after reading about it. The ‘secret garden’ had NO HEATED PODS to sit out in despite being advertised as having them, it looked lovely but not at all what it’s being promoted as, I was told ‘it doesn’t have them yet’. The people I was with had been here before and said it wasn’t any different to what it had been like previously, they had no idea it was being advertised as a new ‘funky place to go. The Neighbourhood very much has a feel of being a hotel chain bar, not much in the way of a buzz about it. We had a few bowls of Parmesan chips and these were fab. The service was efficient but almost grudged, the server was nice but very busy and almost made us feel like we were interrupting his evening tasks by ordering drinks. For a very quiet drink and lovely chips this place would be fine. If you are looking for atmosphere and a heated outdoor area then I would suggest going elsewhere.

    Bisque is a good place for an informal meal. Before the pandemic we used to go there frequently. On Thursday it was quiet but welcoming with excellent service from the barman. The only problem was that they no longer accept gratuities using a credit card and we were not carrying any cash. This is very short-sighted by management.

    Despite the restaurant being closed for refurbishment the suite which was being used for meals was a very good substitute. Server's couldn't have been any more attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious and staff surprised us and went over and above with a birthday surprise.

    What a good find for a Saturday evening when the rest of Edinburgh was fully booked. Staff were delightful and made our dinner great fun . Not haute cuisine but hot fresh and tasty. Very good value champagne!!
