I have had a few meals at The Nightingale and can honestly say the food in of very good quality. This was the first time i had booked for a family meal on a Sunday at 7pm and was disappointed that quite a lot of the menu was sold out once we had arrived.
I suppose it is understandable as it was a lovely sunny day so a lot of people probably went for lunch time, but as I had booked for a large group in advance it was a little problematic trying to work out what was left on the menu that we could have. I wouldn't recommend dining on a Sunday evening but I would go back on a different day or at a different time in future.
Nice pub. Good food and fabulous Shiraz. Great service and not too badly priced. Definitely return when in the area.
Booked for Sunday evening 7pm hoping to enjoy one of the 3 types of roasts advertised on Sunday menu but on being seated we're told all sold out! Apparently this happened minutes before we arrived as we would have been contacted to be made aware.... I think not!
We did decide at this point to leave and eat elsewhere so unable to comment on other food choices.
Had a lovely roast dinner l had the beef my husband has pork belly ,it nice finding somewhere that does roast all day . Will go again have already told friends about the Nightingale .
Booked late . Plenty of room.
Everything you would expect from a good pub,but pudding slightly disappointing .
We booked as a family group, originally for 6 but we turned up with 7 people which was no problem at all for the Nightingale, they accommodated our extra guest with no fuss. The food was great and service outstanding, one of our party was vegan, and there was a decent menu for him. We were all happy with our meals.
Highly recommended, I would definitely go there again.
Met with friends for our Christmas get together. I had booked with opentable but they had not received my booking! Very disappointed!
However, they found us a table very quickly, luckily as some had driven 20miles to get there!
They told us immediately that there was a delay, it was very busy, Christmas period.
That didn’t bother us, hardly noticed with our chatting!
Food was lovely, every one of us enjoyed our choice.
We will go again!
As always a lovely meal with friendly staff. We took a dog with us too which they were happy to accommodate.
Although only booked that morning we were seated at a cosy table near the fire. Excellent food, friendly, attentive staff. Lovely ambience would recommend. Good value for money.
Having arranged to meet friends at 1pm, our friends arrived early. The staff looked after them superbly until we arrived. We were not rushed between courses and staff were on hand if we needed anything. Only small criticism was when my friend requested a tomato juice with Worcester sauce but there was none; although the bottle did say that it was in there. Questionable therefore, if someone doesn’t want Worcester sauce! All round, a very pleasant couple of hours and we will return soon.
Excellent food and a lovely cosy restaurant
The Nightingale itself was extremely good with good service and friendly staff. The only disappointing thing was the reservation through Open Table had not reached them. Although they were very busy they did accommodate us.
Excellent, everything that the Robin Hood in wychbold isn’t. We will continue to eat there.
Met with friends for Xmas meal, food was very good but he evening was marred by the staff trying to hurry us at the end and upsetting our 4 year old. She really wanted a Xmas cracker, so we asked if this was possible. We were told yes, no problem. 5 Mins later were informed that we couldn't have one because we hadn't ordered the Festive dinner! We left with the 4 year old in tears which ruined the whole evening. Can't believe they can be that tight! Will change our venue for next year!
A table for 4 was reserved and everything was ready for us on arrival. We were offered both the a la carte and fixed price dinner menus along with a good drinks / wine list.
Service was discreet and all the meals were as ordered and very tasty. The pinot noir was very good too.
We were there mid week in November so a quiet night at the Nightingale which suited us fine. Good value for money
Five of us all enjoyed a very pleasant meal in comfortable surroundings. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we have booked to go again in December, but next time there will be 9 of us.
Special mention to our waitress who was very nice and also efficient.
Well done team.
Enjoyed lunch at nightingale recently - new surroundings create pleasent atmosphere. Friendly waitress & staff in general. Certainly will return & definitely recommend.
The restaurant was good but our booking through open table got lost. Fortunately they had space to take us
It is not easy to visit these days because I am 84 and have had to give up the car but whenever I can entice a friend to bring me to see you I know we will both be served with an enjoyable meal.
Had not visited The Nightingale for some time following a couple of poor experiences there previously. However it has cetainly turnd round - good food and service and great value.
Party of 6 for after work meal and will certainly be returning, understand they have a new manager , he is certainly doing an excellent job
Lovely meal , good menu , nice atmosphere good place to relax with friends
Went for an evening meal was seated by a very polite waitress who took a drinks order and then before we ordered our meals reeled off at least 5 things that were not available ..... I would have expected this at the weekend but not mid week!
We settled for what was described as .......the 7oz British beef burger..£10.50
in a brioche bun with smoked cheddar, ginger-beer glazed thick-cut streaky bacon and triple-cooked chips........the bacon which was placed on top of burger in bun was undercooked very very thick and inedible. Chips were ok but very few of them but burger was nice and cooked well.
All in all waitress was very nice but the burger and a few chips was not worth The money we paid!
