The a la carte menu – available at lunch and dinner – focuses on the finest seasonal produce and vibrant, honest flavours. Specialties include house-cured meats and fish, robust French classics with Jun’s signature fresh twist, and lovingly thought-out vegetable dishes that are more than just ‘sides’."

Pickled Globe Artichokes & Parmesan

Good quality food and very excellent service. The Pain Perdu was absolutely delicious.
A small restaurant, great intimate ambiance. Food was outstanding and service polite and attentive
A gem of a restaurant! Fabulous food, courteous and attentive service without being intrusive, lovely ambiance.
Beautiful food and a really cool and relaxed vibe. Unfortunately the upstairs space (at the back) has really bad acoustics and our evening (and that of other diners) was spoilt by the incredibly loud conversation and ear splitting laughs of one table. Staff seemed a bit pressurised and hassled (was this because of the private party taking place in the front part of the upstairs restaurant or because we had initially asked if we could move downstairs to escape the loud table?). Our waiter had relaxed by the end of the evening and became quite friendly but he took some warming up.
First time I've written a review about a restaurant because it was that good. The lunchtime menu was excellent. We was very much filled after the plates were gone. All tasting superb. The dessert was amazing. Nice little restaurant with nice staff. We were lucky enough to see the owner Jun Tanaka too which was a nice touch. Full recommend.
Exceptional food and wonderful staff, good for conversation too
Great food and service!!
2nd visit and the food is just so delicious. Excellent food and service it’s a firm favourite
Superb food and service. Tasty diverse and perfectly sized to not overfill.
We were seated at the very end of the restaurant next to the coat rack and beside a party of 10, which were really loud. Food was really good as well as service. We just couldn’t have a nice conversation because of the noise
Very creative wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere. The pain perdu is particularly recommended!
Interesting menu and range of flavours and textures
We booked for 3 persons on a late weekday night after a show and had a wonderful time in an informal dining atmosphere with really yummy food and charming waiter service. Highly recommended for small groups of friends who wish to catch up over at a convivial place with an excellent menu with range of delicious options for diverse tastes
Didn't have a bad dish here, would recommend to give it a try!
We had the pleasure of enjoying great food at The Ninth last week. We shared 8 different dishes and all were deliciously and thoughtfully prepared. The Barbajuan, oxtail croquettes and sourdough bread and butter were enticing appetizers which we followed with Panzanella and fromage Fran’s. The panzanella combination was deliciously fresh. Our rabbit and Osso Buco tortellini should have topped u off but we were glad we overindulged with the amazing desserts of Pain Perdu and White peaches. I would go again for the wonderful texture of the Sourdough and Pain Perdu alone. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the food and most accommodating. I was sadly too excited about the food to remember his name.
Superb French tapas concept in a cosy atmosphere. Excellent service!
I’m very glad I took my parents here on their visit to London - the food never disappoints and it truly is an affordable foodie adventure to navigate the innovative yet flavorful menu at The Ninth. My parents loved it, and it remains a top pick for when I have visitors due to the variety, value, and amazing wine list!
This place has become my favourite restaurant in London.
My boyfriend’s mom was visiting London, and I wanted to take her out. I had heard great things so I chose this restaurant, and I was very happy that I did!
Food is AMAZING, and the atmosphere was perfect- not too formal but not too casual either. It did get a bit too lively at prime dinner time for us, but it would have been just right if it was a regular date night. There was a rude customer near us but the staff took care of them very professionally as well which was great.
It was my second time in The Ninth. Food is really tasty, innovative . You are encouraged to share and that works perfectly. The setting is nice, you feel relaxed. Service is excellent. And prices are far from outrageous.
I liked the restaurant. In an area where there are a number of exceptional restaurants would I chose to rush back, probably not but there was nothing to criticise.
These days I judge a restaurant on whether I am excited about taking my wife there for dinner sometime soon and whilst I had no criticism this did not hit that spot!
I would go back to The Ninth in a heartbeat! The food was delicious AND reasonably priced. Our waiter (I think his name was Matteo) was really attentive and we ended up having a great conversation with him. I also loved the decor and the warm lighting. Definitely check it out!
Pastas, mains and desserts were good but the appetisers that we tried were not as amazing. All in all it was a great meal in a lovely setting. Beetrot tart was my fav dish.
We ate off the set menu with mixed results. Food was good but not memorable which I might have expected from a michelin starred restaurant. Service was reasonably attentive but lacked warmth. Set menu good value though and portion sizes were reasonable.
Wonderful flavours. Order everything (but especially the lamb en croûte). A real treat. Reasonably priced wine list for the type of venue.
A real favourite which never disappoints. Imaginative food, incredible flavours and great service. We went for a reunion and it was simply perfect!!
My friend and I had the lunch menu - great value for lovely food. The service was excellent, and the staff let us take our time to enjoy the food. I would definitely recommend a visit if you want a very nice, relaxed meal.
Food and service overall good. The service needs to be refined to meet the standard of food and nice location.
Not my idea of a Michelin- starred restaurant. Food was good but not great, tables too close, uncomfortable wood chairs, and so noisy you have to shout. No tablecloths, wait staff in jeans, ugly black stoneware plates, food piled on with no finesse. Two forks and knives would be my rating.
Excellent tasting menu options, incredible dessert and great service - thank you for a lovely anniversary!
Disappointing for such a great head chef's restaurant. He was better at Pearl
The Ninth has been one of my favourite restaurants in London. The menu is always exciting with seasonal ingredients. The wine list is also very good. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Great food with quality ingredients. Really pleasant atmosphere, spacious and helpful staff (I had to ask for the meaning of several words on the menu..)
Small restaurant, but nice vibe.
Started poorly, as they didn’t have our booking even though we’d had a text confirmation from them! Anyway, they found us a table.
Service was good and friendly, and the staff had good knowledge and recommended nice wines.
Loved the small tapas/sharing plates format.
Food was the star and the risotto and crispy rabbit were exceptional. Only complaint was the Turbot was on the bone and we weren’t warned. Taste Tatin was also good.
Will definitely return!
This French-inspired restaurant had it all. Central location in London, very stylish but also cosy interior. Food was excellent and the cuisine inventive but still classic. Meals can be shared among friends, but works also for those who want to order their own selection. Service was friendly and attentive.
It was a chance find when planning a get-together with a friend near work and it paid off. The quality of the food and service would be hard to beat. I will need to go back and try the menu options we did not order this time around.
I could go on and on about The Ninth all day as I do not think I will better this dining experience this year! I have given this restaurant top marks on everything as the food the service and everything else you would expect was delivered. The most satisfying and flavorable meal I have ever experienced. Many thanks The Ninth, I look forward to my next visit.
Absolutely amazing value. We had to wait a while to book a table due to demand, but well worth it. Lovely oysters and innovative twists on mains and desserts. We shared 5 plates after our oysters which was fine for two greedy people like us. Good service, and bill was much less than you would expect for a place of this quality. Only issue was space: tables a little close for any intimate conversations, but not much they can do with a relatively small space.
Delicious food and the prices reflect that!
