The Northey Arms
The food was fantastic quality. It takes a lot for my husband to say someone else has cooked him a fantastic steak! Staff were lovely and nothing was too much hassle. Have already recommended to family.
We have eaten here twice and the food has been good. This is probably the last time we will eat here - the staff seem unengaged and the service suffers as a result.
We had a party of 3 the food was very good and the service was fine, the only drawback was there was 2 party’s with very young children who were probably tired at8o,clock which unfortunately led to a lot of crying and screaming and noise. Which unfortunately spoilt are evening. Probably just unlucky on this occasion, we would try it again though
Lovely spacious place with friendly staff and great food!
After a blip on our last visit we were pleased to have standards back to their usual high level, 3 beautiful Sunday lunches, couldn't have been better, perfect portion size. vegetables perfect and meat was great too.
Lovely Puds and attentive service
Food okay service very slow.We were sitting near the kitchen extremely loud music coming from there. Not sure I would recommend or visit again
Great pub food that is locally sourced. Relaxing and attractive atmosphere. Their customer service is where they let the restaurant down...not attentive, forget certain ordered items, staff needs better management/training. House manager is present but has a very negative and "don't care" attitude.
We had booked a table in the bar but were seated down in the restaurant right next to the kitchen door so it wasn’t ideal. Service was very slow and our waiter was very curt and rather unfriendly. We have usually had much better experiences at the Northey but this was very disappointing, particularly as it was a special occasion.
Excellent gastro pub with young and enthusiastic staff. Recommended.
We have visited a few times. Each time has been excellent.
This is our first time on a Sunday.
Fish and chips was excellent.
The roast lamb was mediocre - although the veg, gravy and Yorkshire pudding were very good and tasty, the lamb was riddled with inedible fat and the roast potatoes were too hard to get a fork through.
I brought this to the attention of the waitress. She readily acknowledged the problem with the lamb. I mentioned that it should be withdrawn from the menu in that state for that day especially as I was told chefs weren’t happy with it either! But they were still happy to serve it up?
I paid the bill in full (although I didn’t ask, it would have been a courtesy to take the lamb off the bill) but will probably not go on a Sunday again. Sadly.
I was disappointed this time.
Previous numerous visits to the Northey have been perfect in every way, this time the service was just the bear essentials, no friendliness or humour, we weren't asked if we wanted more drinks or if everything was ok, we also weren't given the option of vinegar or sauces and had to ask for new cutlery for the main course.
Food was ok, nothing exceptional as before either.
it has always been my 'go to' place, but now will investigate other options
Not wheelchair accessible.
The only ramped entrance was locked and clearly using it would have inconvenienced other guests dining. No excuse for this.
No accessible toilet that I could see.
Excellent meal in a gastro pub environment. Friendly and enthusiastic young staff. Good for options for gluten free, vegan etc.
We were in a party of 6 and can honestly say that we all enjoyed the experience - very good food and value for money in very pleasant surroundings together with good service - would definitely recommend it!
Food and service has always been of a high standard, with friendly helpful staff. the menu is very good with a good selection of food for all tastes. Food is well prepared and well presented
Really good quality for pub food. Very good helpful staff and chef easily coped with special dietary requirements of one member of the party.
The food was delicious. It seems ridiculous to have only two waiting staff! We booked our table at 12 and didn’t leave until 3pm which was quite a long stretch four small children. Please employ more staff!
Lively pub, with a good menue, friendly staff and great tasting food. comfortable seats although slightly low compared to the table height. Overall a very nice evening.
Lovely food with great service. I was surprised but pleased to see a mid week offer in such a good restaurant.
Interesting menu and great service. Good for family with teenagers.
Vary enjoyable night out, although the restaurant was very busy perhaps the service a bit slow but understandable. We will return hopefully in the near future
Pleasant staff, good food - very tasty, good portions though risotto a little ‘stodgy’. All in all good value for money and would definitely go again.
A lovey Sunday lunch once again. Great food, knowledgable staff that always give you a warm welcome. What more more could you ask for? 10/10.
Food was outstanding, a little pricey but quality was superb so I didn’t mind. Service was minimal. Didn’t seem to be enough staff to run the bar, serve food and check people in to the hotel.
Third visit to the Northey Arms to celebrate a relative's birthday. The dining area is reasonably spacious and the menu has a very good choice - especially mains and children, vegetarians and vegans should get by without difficulty.
The service and speed of food service was very good considering it was a busy Sunday session. The food is good value for money. One more option on the dessert menu might be a good development but that's a small point. My grandson appreciated the play equipment at the end of the garden.
Always friendly and good higher end pub grub. Popular local with Boules club. Packed at happy hour. Very pleasant staff.
Food was good however expensive for what it is. There were only two members of staff on duty to cover everyone who was dining plus the bar which was inadequate
