Great Sunday lunch, friendly service all set in a lovely village pub.
An fabulous pub in a beautiful location. The food, staff and service were excellent.
Not enough staff, had to wait over 1 hour for meal, then it was over cooked, they replaced this and the second meal was lovely, the people at tables around us were all complaining about the wait, social distancing was good.
Disappointed in the whole experience. Food was over cooked and cold and took far too long to be brought to table. From entering to leaving took 2 hours for 2 courses. Over rated and over priced.
Really tasty flavoursome food ... can’t fault ... great friendly staff ... excellent service ... Laid back easy atmosphere... literally perfect ... try the chocolate tart .. omg ❤️
Meal was very nice apart from the roast potatoes. I’m not sure if they were reheated too long but we could hardly cut into them. Staff very pleasant and helpful but very slow service for drinks.
Lovely food, good table service
Sanitisers all around
Staff in PPE
Enjoyable Sunday roast - will be back
Great food and venue. Service was a little slow but not to the detriment of our evening out. Would highly recommend
Dear Angie Thank you for your kind and positive feedback; as all our food is cooked fresh to order, service sometimes takes a little longer than anticipated. We look forward to your next visit for faultless service from our front of house team. Vanessa C Guest Relations
Great food and good service. Well set up to cope with social distancing .
Lovely break in the journey. Very welcoming and great food
Beautiful food , lovely pub. Polite staff
It was our second time in the restaurant with friends and our puppy we will come back again soon
Food good, a little pricey. Unfortunately service wasn't great. We were left with our empty plates for 30 minutes and did not get asked if we wanted a dessert. As we waited for so long, we asked for the bill (three times) before we had to request this and pay at the bar.
Lovely pub, table staff very good. Main courses were excellent. However, even though the pub wasn't massively busy, we waited 35 minutes for two slices of very cold bread with a bowl of olives and some butter, which was disappointing. And then a couple with 3 very noisy dogs were placed in the main restaurant next to us, having been moved due to disagreeing with another dog.
As a dog lover I have no issue with dogs in bars, outside areas or conservatories. But badly behaved ones in an indoor restaurant area? Afraid it ruined our meal and my ears, and at £65 for food, not acceptable. A shame, as it should have been a lovely birthday meal for my wife, but we won't be returning.
Fantastic service and amazing food as usual.
Was really looking forward to Sunday dinner after hearing great things about it, but left very disappointed. Food quality was excellent, but portions wholly inadequate for such a high price of £16.95, eg just three tiny potatoes.
Fab food fab service and a beautiful location. The staff are super friendly and kern to help
Food excellent but spoilt by very slow service. Main course took 50 minutes to arrive, had to request a glass of wine 3 times before it arrived. Waited another 20 minutes for dessert menu, then gave up and left. Staff were friendly but getting their attention was very difficult.
Warmly welcomed in this lovely inn, even optimus (my dog) was a extended this with a treat. Delicious food, served with efficiency and joy.
Dear Guest I remember you and the lovely Optimus!! So glad you had a lovely visit and we hope we can welcome you back again. Vanessa C Guest Relations
Over priced, and waited ages for food, felt a uncomfortable when asked for condiments...staff were unapproachable. Especially the elder man, was overly posh and just make you feel he looked down upon you.
Thank you for your review, as we prepare everything fresh, food can take a little time which we believe is worth it. We do however appreciate that our price point does not suit everybody's pocket. FYI as part of our Coronavirus precautions, we do not automatically put condiments on the table in order to avoid cross contamination.
Service was extremely slow. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks during the evening or dessert and we had to attract the attention of another waitress to get our bill. The food however was delicious but the service did put a damper on the evening.
Lovely character pub. Very stylish inside. Delicious food served at a good price. We really enjoyed our experience.
Dear Hayley - great feedback and much appreciated. We hope you'll be back to visit us again soon. Kind regards The Northumberland Arms
A wonderful meal served by excellent staff. Thank you for all your efforts
Our booking was for 7pm and due to the slow service, we didn’t receive our food till around 7:50. The food was ok but nothing exceptional and I given the other reviews, I expected better. It didn’t seem like great value for money and wasn’t a memorable meal for the right reasons. I personally wouldn’t go back - there’s much nicer meals to be had in the area.
The staff looked like they were very stretched and as a result, were slow with service and also cleaning up. The toilets hadn’t been cleaned for sometime, which was concerning given the Covid measures they reassure you are in place.
In terms of ambience - we could hear everything the customers at other tables were saying and they could easily address that by putting music in that room.
Children were allowed to wander around no effort made by staff to warn of danger re hot food causing damage. Bill bought to table before dessert.
Asked to pay before dessert received. Food very disappointing both in quality and presentation. Used to enjoy a visit to Northumberland Arms, never again.
Dear Reviewer We are so sorry your experience differed from that enjoyed by so many others, you were of course visiting on a Bank Holiday which coincided with the last day of the Government's discount scheme. As a result, regrettably, your service may have been a touch below par, for which we apologise. Kindest regards Vanessa C Guest Relations
Fantastic service as always, very welcoming. The food was delicious with plenty of choice. Couldn't ask for anymore, 1st class from entering to departing.
Dear Guest Thank you for your perfect all round feedback - it is much appreciated. We look forward to your return. Kindest regards Vanessa C Guest Relations
We enjoyed a delicious bank holiday lunch in very comfortable surroundings. All Covid precautions were in place and we felt very secure as a result. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the eat out discount was a very pleasant surprise! We hope to be back again very soon :o)
Dear Guest Thank you for your kind and positive feedback; it really is appreciated. We look forward to your return. Vanessa C Guest Relations
Lovely breakfast. Good value as in eat out scheme otherwise a little expensive.
Gorgeous food, great service, excellent menu in a beautiful village
Sunday Dinner. Disappointing meat stringy. Yorkshire pudding burnt.
Shan't be going back in a hurry.
Lovely quality and well cooked Sunday lunch (beef). Very polite staff, great service. Will definitely return soon
An enjoyable meal with good service although had a bit of a wait for our food. Staff wore visors, paper menus and essential to book. Food well cooked and good portion size. Felt full without being stuffed!
Food fantastic as usual. Service fantastic. Only downside is the restaurant was quite cold. But other than that fabulous.
One of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had, well done to the chef who cooked our meal yesterday 30 August 2020.
Really lovely well prepared food. Interesting choices
Fantastic food served by Fantastic staff, we weren't staying here but will look at it next time.
Always great good and service. Highly recommend 😊
All the staff were wearing masks except one gentleman behind the bar, which we thought was a bit odd. Also, we were only obliged to give our track and trace details if we wanted to join the wi-fi which again was odd. I can only imagine that if there was an outbreak that not everyone would be contacted. It didn't fill us with confidence.
Celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary with some friends, enjoyed our evening, however the service of both drinks and food was very slow.
Food was delicious but it took almost 2 hours from booked arrival time to main course arriving (and we only had bread and olives to start) - we are not local but have been here before and would go again as maybe just a bad day and we have always had great food here and never had a problem with service before!
