Food was lovely, and the setting of the courtyard was ideal on a sunny day.

We were visiting Cambridge and I saw a recommendation fro this restaurant in Rick Steve's England book. I'm so glad we decided to go. I had a delicious beef wellington and my husband had a sirloin steak. We ate outside in a beautiful courtyard with heaters for cool weather. The service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely go back to enjoy this place again.

We visited for a pre-theatre lunch, it was our second visit and as the weather was good wanted somewhere we could eat outside. We remembered it was good from the last visit but we were wrong it was better than good, this place is outstanding, the welcome, the service, the food, the drink, everything was exceptional.

We have enjoyed eating at the Oak for many years. Essential to book ahead normally, but sometimes we are lucky and can eat there at short notice. We usually eat in evenings and the welcome and the service are always first class. The food is great, but their carefully managed wine list is a delight, every one a winner.

Excellent lunch to celebrate a big anniversary with close friends. On a lovely sunny day we were able to eat outside in the garden which was great and lifted the spirits! Friendly and efficient service added to the relaxed atmosphere; the food was brilliant (very generous and beautifully cooked portions of hake for the mains stood out), and the fizz and wine (from a great list) made the whole event memorable. Thanks to all at the Oak Bistro and we will definitely be back!

We were warmly greeted when arriving at this restaurant. The food was really good with a wide variety of dishes and an innovative touch. The service was efficient and as warm as the welcome. We recommend !

We have lived in the area since 1991, and within walking distance for the last 9 years, and yet had never been to the Oak Bistro before, perhaps because the location on a road junction is slightly unprepossessing. Don't let that put you off! The interior is extremely pleasant, the service warm and friendly without intruding, and the food and wine delicious. We will go again.

Lovely Saturday lunch with adult (and near adult) children.

I've eaten lunch here more than a few times over the past couple of years and have always enjoyed the meal. Normally it has been the set lunch which is absolutely excellent value for money in Cambridge.

If you are there in warmer months there is a lovely patio as an alternative to the inside tables.

This was our first visit to the Oak Bistro and after reading reviews we were looking forward to it.
The outside is deceiving as the restaurant is a lot bigger then it seems. the dinning areas were a quite 'roomy' which did add to the atmosphere.
the staff were all very polite and friendly.
the food was good and the menu was varied. time between courses was about right.
All in all a very enjoyable dinning evening, will go again and recommend to others.

This was a great experience, lovely venue with awesome staff. All the food was great and the wine was very tasty, all very good considering the modest pricing (not cheap but worth paying for). I would highly recommend this to anyone for dates, special occasion or just a nice classy meal.

Having walked past this place for several years and never managing to get around to actually go, I was pleasantly surprised to find the covered court yard garden and the spacious back room, so it is actually quite a large restaurant, although it looks so small from the outside.
The food did not disappear either; me and my friend both had the 3 course daily special menu, where all the dishes were excellent. Beautifully presented and tasty and felt that this represented excellent value.
The service was both efficient and professional and friendly. High quality cuisine, with fresh ingredients in Cambridge and not part of a chain.....

I will definitely be back!

As with our previous visits, the meals were of a high quality and well presented. The only unfortunate thing this time was that the adjacent table appeared to be having a competition as to who could talk/shout/scream/laugh the loudest - totally inconsiderate of others.
