The Old House at Home is a wonderful old ivy-clad country pub located in the village of Burton, only two miles from Castle Combe. With a soulful and unpretentious vibe, the award-winning, family-run restaurant has a cosy dining room with a roaring open fire and down-to-earth staff. Head Chef Anthony Jones has created a classic British menu using seasonal produce. Fresh fish is delivered to The Old House at Home daily from Cornwall, along with beef from Scotland. Favourite dishes include the guinea fowl served with apricot stuffing and a redcurrant and Grand Marnier sauce; the spicy salmon and crab cakes with a fresh tomato and basil sauce; and the scrumptious chocolate and Bailey's cheesecake.

Lovely food. Very big portions so we were definitely full! Background music was a little odd but didn’t spoil our evening ☺️

Really lovely evening and a secluded table with candlelight - just what we wanted. Fabulous waiter/waitress service - helpful, friendly with the right amount of contact. The food was great - especially chicken main with Rosti potato. The only thing letting service down was that the (cold) salad main came out 5 minutes after the (hot) chicken main so delayed starting the meal for us. But otherwise no complaints and would very definitely return. The other small thing to note is you can’t add tips onto a card payment! It won’t get to the waiting staff so this was difficult as we had no cash so were unable to tip anything ...and we would have liked to. Sorry staff :(

Slightly hit and miss, our pre booked table wasn’t ready as other visitors had been allowed to ‘use’ until our arrival! Saying that, it was made ready quickly but it still rankled a bit. Starters arrived very quickly, all good and the service was quick.
The mains arrived. Most were good except for the pasta dishes which were swimming in oil! Not my choice.
All the other dishes were fine.
Asked for the dessert menus which we received quickly but then after 20 minutes we had to go and find the staff to take out dessert choices, they did apologise.
Desserts were ok and nicely presented but nothing mind blowing.
Despite that we did have a good time but it good have been better.

Very loud locals hogged the bar area and showed no courtesy to both the staff carrying food or to customers. Service was very slow. We waited lengthy periods to order courses only to be told that several of the items we wished to order were not available, we should have been told this beforehand. My mum ordered a main course with a poached egg on top, this was missing, I ordered a well cooked steak, this was blood red, my husbands chips were cold, he asked for vinegar which never came, I ordered a half lager and received a pint. Very noisy and disappointing.

Good as always--if not a little pricey. Very satisfying food, generous portions. Would hope to be in the vicinity again just to eat there!

An exellent lunch. I took my 15 year old Neice and we had a real girlie lunch in the old and cosy pub. Out table was by the log fire. Due to the adverse weather there weren't a great number of people but the food was perfect -she had a big lasagne and I had rack of lamb in a garlic crust with rosemary and redcurrent gravy. The service was great - discreet but prompt and polite. I'd go back there anytime!

I haven't been here for a while, but I'm so glad I went back. I went with my Mum for her birthday, and the food was fabulous! Excellent service, and wonderful food! Highly recommened!

The Old House at Home in Burton, Wiltshire is a pleasant pub that serves the best food that I have eaten in a pub. The goose breast with apricot and pine nuts was really good, washed down with a flavoursome glass of Chilean red.

The Old House at Home in Burton is probably my favorite pub/restaurant for a meal out. Unfortunately it is too far away to visit often (but I come at least twice a year). Although the reservation through toptable was not recorded correctly the management were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was again superb! Just wish we could have eaten more of it.

St Louis LÍle is a great foody street in Paris and L´Orangerie lives up to its reputation. Great food prepared in a little more contemporary manner. Highly recommend.

We had the cod and the Grouse, both dishes were very good with ample portions. But be aware when sitting waiting for service you have to order at the bar.
The wines were good but a btit expensive.

Dinner at L'orangerie was what we expected of a Michelin starred restaurant. Inventive food, polite efficient service and great wine list. Gents would feel more comfortable in a jacket, although ties weren't neccesary. The warm duck liver pancakes to start were excellent, as was the foie gras. Very intimate restaurant with attentive service without being snobby or stuffy.. Would highly recommend.

L'Orangerie is magnificent. Situated on the Isle de St Louis in Paris, the location is pure romance. The interior of the resturant doesn't disapoint and whilst it retains a simplicity of finish there is also a refined elegance that permeates the details. Chef Michel Del Burgo's inventive spin on classic cuisine left our heads and taste buds spinning - (the fois gras was to die for and the scallop & potato mouse a surpise with every mouthful). The service was friendly and relaxed. A Perfect 10

When we arrived at l'Orangerie the staff seemed to have trouble finding our toptable reservation. This was not just others but other toptablers too had booked and turned up on the same night, we were able to be seated but it was a bit of a hiccup. Got some nice 'freebies' such as amuse bouche which was lovely. Service was on the whole very very good, food EXCELLENT really enjoyed it. Small-ish haute cuisine portions but delicious all the same but definitely for gourmets rather than gourmands

The food was very particular and good prepared but the service is horrible: 1) we were two and the waiter was all oriented to table of five-six persons; the service was very very slow! We arrived at 9.30 pm, we chose starter, main plate and dessert and we went out to the restaurant at 12.45! 3) our coats was put on a chair in front of us because the dressing room was full
