Lunch was absolutely outstanding. The service was perfect from start to finish. The lamb ragu to start was delicious & I have no idea how the chef made the new potatoes so delicious, they were a huge hit with everyone!

Food and service was excellent but I consider a service charge of 17.5% to be excessive when prices are already high.

Dear Smudge, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very glad to hear that you had an enjoyable supper and enjoyed the food and the service. I just wanted to pass comment on the service charge - we do charge service charge for all our food and drinks. This is of course discretionary and you are very welcome to have this taken off should you choose too. Additionally the service charge is only 12.5% and is stated on our menus. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future to sample our new menu.

Accommodation was very good in the walled garden but 200 yards from the main building in the dark! The website quoted £65 for dinner but in fact, turned out to be £85

Underwhelming for the price. My booking confirmation email stated that our meal would consist of 3 courses for £65 but when we arrived it was actually £85. When I queried this I was told that the menu had changed as it’s a seasonal menu so the price will vary- this is not stated anywhere on their website or in the confirmation email and £20pp extra is a big increase in cost. Given that, the food (in my opinion) did not justify the cost. For example, the desserts were a choice of cranachan, clootie dumpling or hazelnut & almond cake- priced at £20. The ambience was nice, and the service was fine (staff were friendly and seemed attentive enough)- although we waited longer than expected for our dessert to the point where we thought that the order hadn’t been given to the kitchen. Unfortunately when I compare to other restaurants in this price bracket it didn’t live up to expectations.

Food great, place beautiful, Matradi very nice.. unfortunately we were the only people in.. the server hovered and kept pacing.. very off putting. We felt it was abit expensive for what it was..we would go back or special meal with friends or check that there were other dinners.

Lovely restaurant as part of a beautiful hotel just outside of Blair Atholl. The 3 course meal was delicious and with interesting selections and presentations. At bit on the expensive side, but in this area, I think it is the norm.
