I have lunch here once a month with a friend and it''s absolutely reliable. I have taken to having the gougons which are hot fresh and delicious and I can always park. Hurrah!

Love going to the Old Spring. Delicious hot goujons and easy parking but are they quietly increasing their prices I ask myself?

Excellent food and service. The waiter was very attentive and food was a step above average pub grub. Ambiance was not too noisy for a pub. The dining area was fine although a little sparce. Situation is not bad ... although not very convinent for the centre of town.

All of us who ate had great food and the service certainly matched, will definitely be going back again!

Great place to stop in for a pint and fish n chips. Recommended by a colleague who spent 10 years in Cambridge a little while back. Staff was great and it seemed like most of the other patrons were there with friends or family (adults). Will go back.

Always good, food well prepared, good selection of beers, plenty of options as where to sit but best to book, staff well trained, can’t fault the place

- We reserved online and came round to check and still we were 'lost' on the day. Perhaps because it for outside and then it was raining
- I thought the fishcake was quite nice but overpriced
Otherwise fine!

I have drunk and eaten at the Old Spring for more than a dozen years. It's a nice pub, with a great ambience and a good selection of beer. However, do not mistake the restaurant and food now with how it used to be. My wife and I ate there last week (mid-July 2019). The menu was a quarter the size it used to be, with only 8 items on it's Mains menu. My wife had the stuffed aubergine. I had the lamb kofta. When the food arrived I was struck by how tiny the portions were, and mentioned to the server. My wife had half of one of the smallest aubergines I've ever seen, with some kind of filling, a small pot of humus (why?) and a few lettuce leaves -- £15. I had three small dry lamb koftas sitting on a rock hard pitta bread and a bowl of chips (actually the only edible thing we had between us) -- £16. In the past you could get a ham hock and shallot pie and chinky chipes for £16. A good portion and delicious. Or a comfit duck leg with kale and jus for £18. Or a vegetarian beetroot and quinoa salad for £13. Every meal I've had at the Old Spring in the past has been good or very good, and good value for a real meal. But what they are serving now is a very small menu, with tiny portions of low quality food at sky high prices. I will still drink there, but will never eat there again.
